These results look awesome! I'm a fan of the grey base + coating. The (literally) "black" chrome looks great, too! I had to bookmark your shop link. I am building a tilt bed truck (80s stuff) and I guess the NISSAN letters on the tailgate will have to be chrome. ☝️😉 Cheers, TOBi 👋👋
I'm really liking the finish you got with this product Jordan, what would be the process for alloy wheels and which colour 2K direct gloss would you recommend? the wheels on my SLK are highly polished bare alloy then it has clearcoat applied, the wheels are done like this from the factory and are quite rare on this car so I'm trying to find something that will replicate the finish. Problem is that my wheels are to far gone to have them diamond cut then re-polished as they are quite pitted so they will need to be filled and primed, I was going to basecoat them silver then clearcoat but your Hyper-Silver would give a better finish, any advice would be appreciated 🙏👍
Hey mate, i would go for the dark grey. This gives a neutral appearance to the silver. The black is ok but will give that shadow chrome look. Totally depends what you want🙂.
Had a fella ask me could I get a chrome look on his motorbike engine side casing, will this base and clear hold up to that sort of temperature? I’ve never got involved with anything like that
The third picture will answer your question. Basecoat is white, grey and black (left to right) : www.repairandrefinish.co.uk/product-page/hyper-silver-virtual-chrome-effect-paint
