Great job! I've been doing wheel repair since 03' and always like to see others do it to see if I can hone my skills and knowledge more. Enjoyed the video and knowledge you shared, much appreciated. I do have an odd question tho', where or how'd you made the Lazy Susan to spin the wheel on? Is it just a mechanics seat taped up or? Once I figure out how to make a video I would like to make a series of videos on doing this mobile, to help other mobile guys out there. Thanks!
@@drivenimagecustoms6108 Thanks a lot. Your videos are great so the phone is working. I've seen others make great videos with their phones as well. I really need to take some time and learn how to take videos and edit with my phone.
why did you clear coat after the black primer? Then you painted the hyper silver, then clear coated the wheel after that? I guess I want to know if you could have black primered then painted hyper silver then clear coated....skipping the other clear coat? I thought clear coat was a finish on the top coat to protect it?
What's up Robert, so I'm not a fan of clear coating over primer, although it may work, if it's Urethane primer and Urethane clear I don't see why there would be a problem. The clear coat before the hypersilver gives it it's refectiveness, if you were to spray that Hypersilver over a dull coat, you just get a dull silver. Some Hypersilver wheels are not top coated like some Infinity models G35 youll see the silver wearing out and you're left with a gloss black coat underneath. In this case the Kia wheel was top coated so I had to do it exactly as it is done from factory to get the best match. Hope that answers your question 🙂
Sorry for the late reply, I had forgotten about this channel, PSI was low around 15 as you don't want to waste product, it's expensive However, it's all about CFM, high flow fittings
The Spray max USC 2k High Gloss Clear coat Aerosol must be used within 48 hrs or it solidifies once activated. Was told to refrigerate can and it will last much longer
For the silver it is Diamont D121 Ultra Flash Flake, it's very expensive but goes a long way, I usually a half pint for about $100 and can do about 10-15 wheels I don't have a direct link, google up a local RM jobber and have them mix it for ya For clearcoat you can use the SprayMax 2k clear in can amzn.to/44GDZey. best wheel explanations so far great job from the uk
Friggin' Artist. Nice work man.
Thank you!
Never seen the gloss clear laid down over the black, seems to work really well though. Nice work! I subscribed!
Awesome thanks! Yes it gives the hypersilver a bit more reflectiveness 👌
Same will be attempting this Tuesday ! I work in a shop and do wheels all the time and thinking this clear before the black base will be better
Straight killin it!!
Very cool seeing it with just a little bit of silver on it!
Yes, this stuff is so versatile, I love it.

Hey what's up, thank you and sorry for the late reply. It is just an old SnapOn stool, any rotating stool will do, makes things so much easier lol
By the way that's awesome, nothing like sharing some knowledge. I record with my cell phone, a camera would get destroyed at the shop 😁

Really nice! Thank you
Yup! Got a lot more cool stuff coming
Nice work, I need to do an Infinity wheel. Is the clear a two part Urethane before and after the silver? Thanks!
Yes, Southern Polyurethanes Euro2020 2k
Any chance you have a sample spray out on brown or bronze basecoat?
I'll do it and make a sample at some point

With your 1.0 tip spraying the Hypersilver, do you remember what PSI you had the gun at?

That is correct!!!
how many wheels would the material you list last for, I have four 19" wheels
would one can of item each cover the entire job?
If you have good technique yes you can use one can and have some left over
I usually spray very close so less material wastes in the air.
Great work buddy..
Thank you!
Is it possible to do this repair on hyper black?
Yes
Thanks for making this video, it’s super helpful. For the BMW bright hyper silver, would you recommend a light gray base coat?
What's up! For the brightest silver, aluminum typ of look, go with a white base
instablaster...
You didn't link the actual paint you used. Do you have the link or paint code?

I can’t seem to find d121 anywhere in California. What other alternatives can I use?
Hey what's up, check out Alsacorp.com they have similar products.
Driven Image Customs thank you I’ll check it out
