That’s amazing Tony , I have been painting terminator props for years since 1998. We used stuff called Alclad2 which you do the exact same of gloss black base but to get it shiny you had to buff it by hand and could not be painted over with clear and was very weak and fragile. I’m so excited to try this . Great work as usual mate
Thanks mate and yeah this stuffs ideal mate even the silver layer alone aslong as you don’t put solvent on it I’ve found it very durable but once cleared it’s more than protected mate and once you’ve got the process down it’s so easy to use
Hi Tony, really appreciate your videos - i love watching them and how you film and narrate them is excellent so thanks! :) In the scenic art & decorative art that i do, we tend to use a Red base for Gold, and Blue for silver - don't know if you tried that but it looks great with Black! Anyway, thought id just mention it and once again say thanks for all the help you give people with your videos! Cheers.
Hi Tony, good result! Can you help me to find the waterbased coat you used inbetween Chrome and Clearcoat? Which product did you use and is there also conventional alternatives?
thanks fro this, its one of those things that I might not come across very often yet when and if I will it's going to be really helpful as I would have done the usual way, from what you have shown the wrong one. neat
Thanks for a very informative video. I am looking to use this on previously chromed bicycle handlebars. Just followed your link and it says not for outdoor use. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark
Wow!!! That is absolutely stunning.. I would love to see someone spray candy over that.. like the virtual chrome.. it’s a whole different look than silver flake base.. this I think would look almost like an anodized look.. I would love to paint my vette candy BRANDYWINE or candy apple red over a chrome like this!! Rather than have it wrapped in a red chrome. Any thoughts on that? Thank you for great videos! Very informative and helpful!
12:07 In the outside display it seems it turned a little bit to blackish like black chrome? Could it be that it react to a darker nuance? What about long term? Does it fade out, I mean does it loose his gloss?
Great video. Can you tell us more about the Stat gun. I notice some of the custom guys especially the ones from the far east use them all the time, might even be worth a video.
You did everything perfectly and the finish still looks like very shiny silver paint, and nothing like chrome. Thanks for taking the time to share this 👍
what is the difference between airbrush pistol you are using vs standard airbrush like iwata or stein ? What are benefits of using this one over the one I have?
@@TonysRefinishingTV thanks Tony, I will get that and do some test parts. Primarily we would like to use it on helmets for part of the graphics, whole lid done first and after clear coat and sanded use an effect of anodised look with createx colours but plenty if practice needed for all that. Thanks one again loving the vids.👍👌
Really interesting video Tony I thought when Jordan did this he said you can flat and polish the 2K gloss to get a better finish for the silver, maybe I'm dreaming again 🤔🤷♂️ You make the process look easy but I bet it takes some doing to get the hang of it, if you used 5L to perfect the process I'll be needing 20L 😂 I will be getting some of this soon to try it out, the wing at the end looked really nice mate I want to try the same but will start small at first, thanks for doing this mate 👏🙏👍
You can mate but I found problems doing that so best to just shoot the ground coat better , and it didn’t take 5l to perfect it on small / medium parts mate it was more the 2x2 meter panels mate as they were for a quote for a huge job , it’s more this process is what I’ve found in hours and hours of testing that worked best so thought I’d share to show the best way we found and how good the product is too
Ok thanks Tony, I suppose it would be difficult to get them totally clean after a compound the slightest contamination would cause issues, I wouldn't like to tackle a 2x2m panel so I'll leave that to your capable hands. I just need to find some water based clear binder but I would say that David will have that.
Hi Tony Great video, I have been searching everywhere to get some truck pieces/ trim chromed or chrome painted, It’s really hard to find someone who can do a professional job. Would you be able to receive parcels that are couriered to you? If so, you have just opened up a complete new business stream for yourself mate,

Honey, We really like your videos, very clear and patient. I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a video of our inflatable paint booth. Free for you to use our upgraded inflatable spray tent, even indoors, the double-layer EPA-certified filter cotton and the elephant nose filter system can achieve a good filtering effect. If you are interested, please reply to me and talk about more details thank you~
@@TonysRefinishingTV great video, 1 of a kind. I'm spraying lots of clear 2k with colour changing chrome pigments I've different bases. I'd love to see your experience using them. Do you reckon you could do your finish without the sealer coat by using hardner in the silver, letting it cure, then clearing?
По моему вы не правильно используете эту краску. 7:17 - это уже результат, зачем вы наносите обильный слой еще? Вы испортили зеркало, которое получилось идеально.

There good for plastics mate to remove static I don’t see much difference on metal parts tbh and yes I may do a video on it in the future

@@steveg2509 no hes not! You are obviously.....
Looks much better than real chrome
Try spraying over a nardo grey, When they make mirrors they use grey.
some nice info there. thanks, nice vid.
thank you tony going to try this out a great tutorial cheers bud.
No problem 👍
awesome, can someone tell me how the silver adheres to the fully cured black paint?
Looks great well done Tony
Thanks 👍
Looking forward to this. I’m in my garage testing this product as we speak. Can’t wait to get any tips…
lol hows the testing going
@@TonysRefinishingTV not bad thanks. It’s hard to resist the temptation of adding too much paint… coat no 4 and it’s starting to shine ✨
I’ve only gone 5 coats total should shine cost 1 mate tbh

Very interesting video thanks Tony.
Glad you enjoyed it doug
if you stopped at 2 coats instead of 5... could you achieve a 'black chrome' finish, after clear coating?
or would it be better to add a black tinted water based sealer , before clear, to achieve the effect?
If you wanted to tint the chrome, where in the process would you do this? Add tint to the chrome?
No mate you would add tint to either the sealer layer or clearcoat
Please, could you tell something about your choice of water based sealer?
Magnificent Tony. It was Great, Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Is this paint petrol resistant? Oil resistant? Silicon oil resistant? Please reply.
No scuffing? How is there adhesion?
Can hyper silver be used for a full car paint job?
It’s not something I’d personally try tbh
Hi Tony, when ye say sealer do ye mean clear base? water based. good vid

is that spray on chrome paint available in the US?
I’m not sure mate tbh
please tell me the waterbase sealer brand you suggesting.
