VOLKSWAGEN TDI ANTI-SHUDDER VALVE OR DIESEL THROTTLE BODY CLEANING | POLO/VENTO/RAPID

  • A guide how to clean the carbon deposited on the anti shudder valve of modern volkswagen tdi diesel cars , usually people think its diesel throttle body but it is not true , its just an air control flap which works just 2 times , once on starting the engine and second on switching of the engine , as diesel engine are famous to vibrate or shudder at start ups and shuting down , this air flap adjust the amount of air pressure in the air track to reduce that shudder or vibration , to make the engine feel more refined,
    But after some time this flap gets some deposition of egr gases mixed with oil vapour from crankcase ventilation system and form carbon depositions , which acts as a restriction in the path od smooth flowing air and harms performance and refinement .
    problem - car shudders while turning off the ignition
    video made on a volkswagen polo 1.5 TDI , same method applies to volkswagen vento and skoda rapid , skoda fabia jetta , audi a3 , audi a4
    but the process remains same for every modern diesel engine , just location of component change .

    Thank you so much for your Video.I have a 2011 Octavia 2.0 TDI the engine has recently shuddered when turning off the ignition and then I had fault codes P0120 I told 2 local garages near me of this shuddering on the car and I said the throttle was the problem. They tried to charge me for a EGR assemble £1000 part and labour.which I refused. I thought this shuddering was to do with the timing. I am so grateful to you as I have found the problem. I can clean the part myself I took the top of the hose off and it is full of gunge. The car is 12 years old with 75,000 miles. I love the car and I can fix the problems. You are BRILL.

      Drivetrain lash-back hota hai sir ,
      Hum thoda sa reduce kar sakte hai isko but poora khatam nahi kar sakte ,
      Intake manifold , valve , valve runners , anti shudder valve , MAF sensor , egr valve , egr cooler and piping clean hongi proper tarike se , injectors bhi clean honge .
      Dog bone mount ki condition ke according agar change karne ke need hui to wo bhi karna padega .
      Insab chejo ko kar ke , around 50-60 percent tak reduce ho jaega .

    I'm suspicious this may be the cause of my P0238 code. It was open when I hit a deer and it blew the main fuse. Car immediately shut off but the anti shudder valve never got a chance to close.

    Hi Sir
    Am planning to buy used Vento Diesel.
    After driving 2 Nos 1.6 TDI Vento Diesels and 2 Nos 1.5TDI I find that 1.6 TDI is more refined and has better linear response and lower engine noise level and lower vibration.
    1.5 TDI seems to have in built lag when we race up from,there seems to be some delay in engine picking up RPM.
    Once RPM increases then pick up lf 1.5 is more than 1.6
    But engine sound at low RPMs in 1.5 TDI is more than 1.6 TDI.
    Due to this reason I think I should buy 1.6 TDI
    Do you also feel same observations

    Want to ask you a question i own a vento 1.6 TDI recently car idle goes to 1000 rpm and stays there on idle ..
    Even Ac is off that time.
    if you have any suggestions on this please suggest

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sir engine idle speed can be raised due to few reasons
      1. If the timing is not accurate
      2. If the ecu thinks that coolant circulation is not up to the mark , it will increase the speed to increase the circulation
      3. If the battery has low voltage , speed will be increased to charge the battery quicker
      4 . If there is load on the engine for which ECU has to compensate by increasing the idle speed .
      5 . A faulty pressure sensor , which maybe providing a wrong data to the ECU about the barometric pressure and ecu things that the car is on a higher altitude and engine needs to be revved a little higher to compensate for the lack of air pressure
      Hope it answers your question

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @abhishekordinsingh
      Sir its called drivetrain lashback ,
      All you have to do is cleaning, from MAF sensor , then piping then anti shudder then eger valve , egr cooler , intake manifold , valve and valve runners , and injectors as well .
      It will get reduced around 50-60 percent
      New cars don't have carbon deposits in the intake system , so the lashback is not that pronounced , but as it is driven it accumulates deposits thus more pronounced lashback

    Hi I have a 2009 vw golf 1.6tdi, I’m losing coolant but can’t see where it’s being lost from. I changed the expansion bottle but still no improvement. There is some oil leak but the garage could not locate the source of the leak either. Do you think it might be an EGR valve issue? No power loss, no smoke, the fan comes on more often and remains on more often so it’s over heating sometimes. I’m having to top up the coolant after about 150 to 200 miles on a regular basis. Any ideas ?

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sir 3 hidden places can be
      1 . Water pump , as its buried inside the timing cover we can't see it .
      2 . Oil cooler , it can leak internally but it will get mixed up with oil and you can see the sign's of that under your oil filler cap .
      3 . Egr cooler , it can get leaked inside the egr cooler and due to heat , it will evaporate along with the exhaust gases
      Last and the worst case , head gasket
      Or it can just be a faulty coolant reservoir cap which is leaking under high temperature .
      Hope it helps .

    Hai Sir, around one year back I bought 1.5 tdi polo 2014 model KM 120k on the odo. Since I buy, the car is shivering a lot while I am starting the engine, then it is slowly slowly going to the normal vibration. May I know what is the reason for that. Thank you Sir. I appreciate for your useful videos.

    • @yourDIYneeds
      @yourDIYneeds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sir if you have bought a 120k kms vehicle on odo then there are alot of things you have to make sure that its perfectly reliable . As we don't know how the previous owner maintained it .
      1. Annual oil change ( nomatter if the previous owner said that he or she got it serviced just a day before , do it again just for you own peace , untill unless he provides you with a invoice of authorize service centre )
      2. After 120k kms alot of carbon deposition happens inside the engine , so we need it to be cleaned , use a good engine flush compound when doing an oil change ( not every time just this time )
      2. Get your MAF sensor , intercooler , egr return pipe , intake manifold and anti-shudder valve cleaned ( it may sound alot but it takes only 5-6 hrs or say an afternoon )
      3. Run a good diesel system cleaner along the fuel for atleast 2 tanks , so that injectors can get cleaned .
      After all this you will feel the difference . It will be alot smooth , and use a good quality engine oil which has the approval of vw 505.01 that makes alot of difference how engine feels .
      I have videos of all the topics on my channel , if you are a person who likes to get his hands dirty then you can save a lot on labor as well .
      If its your first Volkswagen then i have a peice of advise for you , change your fuel filter on every oil change as we don't have fuel quality as compared to central europe , alot of people will say that its ok to skip the fuel filter but its not , injectors are sensitive to fuel quality ( no matter how much i stress this things , it will still not be enough )
      Hope it helps 🙂
