  • How to remove, clean and replace the throttle body on a 2002 to 2009 Volkswagen Polo Mk4 (9N) 1.4 litre petrol. If the throttle body gets dirty, it can have an effect on how smoothly the engine runs. Possible symptoms include rough idling, jumpy or sluggish acceleration, poor fuel economy, and possible stalling, all when the engine is warmed up. NOTE: If you replace the throttle body with a new one, you will need to have it programmed to the car. This will likely need to be carried out by a Volkswagen dealer. Thanks for watching. Hi mate, great video. I have a 9n Polo (2005) and in the last few months it has developed a weird fault. When pressing on the accelerator and letting off there's quite a severe bucking or jerking, it feels like the engine is rocking back and forwards twice when letting off the accelerator, the idle is also lumpy and feels like It's going to stall. Could this be my issue with the throttle body? There's no codes stored apart from a steering angle sensor fault that is archived, and no EML. It's been in to a garage and they said there's nothing wrong with it. Cheers!

    My 2003 polo is showing error codes saying throttle body problems, goes into limp mode and sometimes misfired. Then it can run ok for weeks. Would this cleaning help?

      It sounds like it could be an issue with the throttle body position sensor but I can't be sure. You may need to have a mechanic check it out.

    Hey All
    I have been battling with my 2005 Polo 1.6 (9N3). It starts immediately (with accelerator pressed I always start it like this). It will idle fine with no problem but as soon as I release the accelerator it idles funny for few seconds and then switches off. I took it to a local mechanic and he did a full service ( spark plugs, oil and air filter, oil change) and I also replaced the battery but the problem still persists. Please help It has had this issue for months now and have lost the joy of owning a car.

      Does it only happen the first time you start the car or does it also happen when the engine is warmed up ?. Lift the bonnet and turn the key to the 'On' position. Can you hear the throttle motor working for a second or is it silent ?

    • @Villiyey
      @Villiyey 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@screwsnutsandbolts it happens all the time . Whenever I release the accelerator I literally have like +- 4 seconds before the engine cuts off (before that it will run funny)

      It sounds like it could be a dirty or faulty throttle body, but it's hard to say

      You may have to re-adapt the throttle body if you do. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/YiOtKbj75Hk/w-d-xo.html
