Few days ago i decided to start TRPF Ballista, but luckily stumbled upon your TRPF videos somewhere around Act 3 and switched my build instantly.
I think i got very lucky with "Willclash Golden Mask" drop and currently blasting through campaign.
I did the exact same thing automating "Immortal call" and "Withering Step" before this video came out and was actually about to suggest it, haha!

First time TR (and bow) user here. I’ve binged your vids (league start, crafting, etc.) after struggling with a TR ballista setup, swapped to your guide, and am finally able to clear t16s very smoothly.
I just crafted my end game thicket bow today after spamming far too many alts, then your vid mentioned the quality fossil which I totally missed, so really appreciate the beast craft callout!

Love the content thank you so much for sharing your findings and info this season! Quick question: I have some mediocre gems but some have increased damage over time and some have increase damage over time multiplier. Just wondering which one is overall better. Id assume multiplier but could be wrong cause maths. Also with crafting bows i bought a bow with +2 to bow skills and chaos damage over time multi but would just crafting one as you say with the skills and attack speed overall be better? Using quill atm. Looking forward to more videos :D
DoT Multi is a much stronger stat than increased damage over time!
A +2 bow skills & DoT Multi bow will work while you save up to craft a +3 thicket bow. You can try to make a +2, AS, & DoT Multi bow, but the difference isn't that huge, and that's currency you could be saving to make the endgame bow, so it's probably not worth the cost.
The mana craft on flask was announced pre-patch notes i believe!
The veiled craft was, the mana flask suffix that could be rolled with alts was not.

I ditched eb very early on to get manaforged arrows using clarity and a cheap watcher's eye and I think I prefer it. Frees up nodes on the tree for clusters, and you get the aoe and phys as ele from your helm. Do you prefer that endgame bow to a 250% widowhail? DPS is very close with an endgame quiver.
A Widowhail setup with a god-tier quiver is stronger, especially if you're using The Adorned with a ton of well-rolled Chaos DoT Multi jewels. The main downside to Widowhail is that it's more expensive, and not better until you have a really strong quiver to go with it, but once you do, it's absolutely superior.
It also helps a bit with mana costs compared to a standard TR bow, since TR costs an extra 1 mana at gem levels 26 & 31.
I am playing the ballista in conflux semi-ssf setting and having a blast. Didnt realise that you did not use ballista anymore. Is it hard to transition without getting bankrupt? Thanks for your content I am truly enjoying especially this crafting video fo yours, very informative!
Your mileage may vary in SSF/SSF-lite, but in trade league it's pretty affordable to run full self-cast TR PF.
I'm really liking your build/guide and am pretty well situated with my TR but staying at Eldritch Battery for now. I recently discovered the gem The Front Line and was wondering about your opinion about it. With it I can cap my resistances for the duration of Immortal Call (now automated) but getting a 20% Damage Taken Debuff when it drops off - would that be a deal breaker?
Probably. It's an interesting idea, but the damage taken increase is really large and affects all types of damage (including Chaos). The defensive bonus only applies extra elemental maximum resistances (which will overcap if you're using Ele Res flasks) & physical damage reduction, and it does so while you have Immortal Call active, so it's adding more defensive value while you're already at your tankiest and making your weakest points even weaker. Given that it also costs a cluster jewel slot and a passive skill point to get, that's a pretty high price for a questionable benefit.
There's an idea of self-casting Immortal Call, or hooking it up to CWDT Support to specifically use when you're taking lots of damage, and then playing very defensively once it has fallen off. That's probably how GGG intended it, and that does sound cool, just not really in keeping with the zoomy way we normally play PoE. It's like a PoE 2 bonus!
@@PathofEvening Thanks for your insight! I've tried it for a few maps in my usual Harbinger Juice setup and I noticed huge irregular dips (when Immortal Call is on CD) and not much more durability when it isn't. I guess I'd rather put those two points elsewhere and put my 5% Life Jewel in again.

Running this in SSF, overall build feels great, i had a devouring diadem from but the set up felt a lot more squishy then the rare helmet set up
Glad to help! Using Diadem does mean that hitting 100% Suppression takes a little more work, so it can make you less tanky against spell damage until you've gotten back to 100% (or at least pretty close with the lucky suppression mastery).
Great video and explanation. Really enjoyed watching it. I was looking for something like this to swap too and with the help of the crafting video and this video's explanation, I will try to make the switch. I have a question though, my ranger is only level 90, would I still be able to try this build out and which 5 nodes would I need to hold off till I reach level 95? I guess the question is, can I make it playable for level 90 and if so, which 5 nodes can I drop, for now.

@@PathofEvening Ye I did that, level 92 atm. I do feel like I lack some damage, but that's probably because I don't have the cluster jewel perks yet and no awakened gems.

Im utilizing an Impossible Escape jewel on Necromantic Aegis..
This gives you access to 45% skill effect duration, 12-24% aoe, and 15% reduced mana costs without pathing thru scion.. this allowed me to drop pathing to scion altogether, and really the only loss is the "10% More Skill effect duration" mastery.
Im also using the "reduced mana cost of attacks" eldritch implicit on helm, mana cost as life mastery, and "Tireless" on blessing.. my current mana cost of TR is 3 mana.. "no regen" is literally the only map modifier I cant currently run.

Hey I think your videos are great, I'm not even playing TR, but it's very informing. Have you considered getting a custom channel icon to help you stand out more? The first time I saw one of your videos with the name and icon, I was hesitant to watch for some reason.
Oh, interesting. It's definitely something we considered. Our other channel (@wowatnight) has a custom icon, but it's nothing fancy. We could do that here, but wonder if we'd lose some people thinking we're another channel.

IMO the icon seems a bit too generic and made me think it could be an advertisement or more constructively (in hopes y’all hit it big!) it was a low investment channel, not meant to be overly serious. I tend to give every channel I find a fair shot and I’m so glad that was not the case here.
The quality of your content should be reflected across the board, and your content + production is up there with the best creators! I was shocked when I didn’t see 10k+ subscribers.
An icon might be that little bit that catches a new viewer’s eye. And those that already know your content are here for exactly that: high quality content (not an icon).
EDIT: this comment is entirely me presuming y’all want to make this a full time gig or something. It’s definitely not easy or for everyone, so ignore me if that’s not the case here :)

can you put out a video clearing maps? first time playing TR and i clear t16 in about 15 minutes, so my wipe start has been no bueno.

For the +2 bow, it helps, but it's not game-changing. Probably not worth sinking a lot of currency into trying to chase it.
For the +3 bow, absolutely.
I'm at 2 - 50% auras (grace and malev) and have reservation space for 1 more 25% aura....s
Which one is better? artic armour (less phys/fire) - flesh and stone or defiance banner?
(i'm still working on reservation to fit in the purity of elem)
Arctic Armour helps guarantee freeze immunity, so unless you have that covered elsewhere, it's probably the best choice. Flesh & Stone grants the largest amount of damage reduction of these three, so it's the best option if you don't need the freeze immunity.

That's right, it's a Turquoise Pendant of Willpower, scales the little bubble up with your Energy Shield!

Are your utility flasks auto using themselves? How are you doing that? New player here
Instilling Orbs allow you to make utility flasks auto-trigger under certain conditions. One of those conditions is when they hit full, another is when they expire. You can benchcraft these modifiers on at the crafting bench in your hideout. Hope this helps!

Unspeakable Gifts is a suffix, so it would replace Unholy Grace.
Is it still possible to make a quill rain with the porcupine? I really need that weapon and overall fix My resistances xd t8 maps get me one shotted from time to time x.x

The Porcupine will give you a normal 6l Short Bow. If you roll it with Essences of Dread, it will be better for your damage output than a Quill Rain, at a fraction of the price.

I actually dropped automation because it felt significantly worse than CWDT... IC would just always drop at the worst possible moment.. I just feel way more comfortable with CWDT6+IC8+ID... then I typically bind force move to MB5 and instant skills (withering step) to left click, so this league I'm just doing the opposite.

In act 6 you take "aura area of effect","Reservation Efficiency", and "Charisma" but we can't fit more than 2 auras yet, and 6% increased effect of non-curse auras doesn't seem very strong. Am I missing something about these skills? I avoided taking them but I'm sure you know better than me
Once you have EB, you're able to run two 50% auras. Doing so means you have 0 mana remaining, so having at least a little bit of Reservation Efficiency can help if you don't have enough ES to totally cover your mana pool for long engagements. Ideally, you will have enough ES, but sometimes you might be a little bit short, and having even just a bit of unreserved mana means you're double-dipping on both mana and ES regen. You also want to take those passives at some point, since you are going to transition into using three auras fairly soon. Also, increased aura effect means increased Haste effect, so it does directly translate into more move speed during the campaign.

Filter out -#% all maximum resistances, #% less Recovery Rate of Life/ES, and #% reduced effect of Non-Curse Auras. #% reduced Flask Charges is also annoying. Everything else is pretty much fine. Damage mods can be spooky if you have a lot of them overlapping.
use efficacy instead of swift affliction for both skills, always
SA is a bait
This is incorrect. Caustic Arrow pools do not stack, so extending the duration does not add as much damage as making it hit harder with Swift Affliction.

if you just think about dps as it is written over the skill info, yeap, you're right
anything else efficacy is more efficient (funny one) to 'tick dmg one last time' so that one pool does more total dmg as you run thought the map.
in t16/17 that total pool damage matters a lot. If you're farming low lvl maps than even a 4link ca is enough

Do you think its better to go with a petrified blood setup rather than purity if i go with a dot multi watchers? Purity might seem pointless if im res capped anyway
