Hey @Palsteron, I was lucky enough to roll +2 Socketed bow gems, and 17% attack speed on an alt roll. Is there any way to craft it still, or do i need to do the -> regal then annul until the AS roll is the only mod on a rare bow?

In term of pure maths, you are better of regal'ing after you get T1 attack speed (no matter if you get attack speed alone or atk speed + prefixe) since then you get 3 mods and you have 1/3 chance to hit atk speed the first annul and then 1/2 to hit atk speed the 2nd annul instead of 1/2 and 1/2. if you only have atk speed T1, then regal and hope for the 50/50 W. great video!

This has to be one of the easiest guides I've seen to craft stuff.... I'd never tried crafting something like this before, and got the exact same result smoothly for rather cheap. Looking forward for more crafting videos.
Just FYI, not sure if anyone mentioned it already, but you can buy the cheapest conqueror's exalted orb, then use Harvest juice to swap the influences around as well.
The cost of influence swap will probably be higher than what you save on buying the cheapest one. Not to mention its a complete gamble you will actually get the influence you want.

Minor nitpick, when you want a 1 mod rare and have a 2 mod magic item it is always better to regal-annul-annul, rather than annul-regal-annul as you did in the video (It's a 1/3 of success rather than a 1/4)

So you just scour if you annul attack speed first?
Just making it clear, its a 2/3 for the first annul and a 1/2 for the second annul 2/6 -> 1/3. Instead of twp 1/2 -> 1/4

Recently started SSF Toxic rain has been my go to a lot so I wanted to try it in SSF. Crafting is probably the hardest thing for mw so this guide helps a lot hoping to have some success thank you for this video!

Also probably wait and craft some crucible skill tree on the bow before starting the crafting process while you still use Quill Rain for the best possible outcome (idk if you can reforge skill-trees safely without altering the weapon).
why ? that bow is still league start tier for him .. he does not need overthink a league starter

I rarely farm enough to play with 100 div + investment builds so good league starter might be able to farm at least pinnacle bosses without any problem
@@nordvirus6671 That and a lot of these league start builds can be enhanced and perfected with more investment over time. For a lot of (more) casual players, a league starter is totally sufficient to do all content usually, just takes some time to enhance the gear (and starts becoming exponantially more expensive).
When I did RF league start for the first time, I liked it so much I ended up just playing that whole league (Kalandra), plenty of divines had to be spent to make that build go insane. :)

Not sure if it was mentioned but you can risk anulling off the "cannot roll attacks" and save yourself 2 div. You can't remove the attack speed since it's an attack mod, and even if you remove +1 or the hunter mod you can just exalt them back on. (Wouldn't do it if I hit t1 hunter but yeah) but if you remove multimod then you have to accept and pay the 2div for a new multimod

for expensive bow, if u wanna save 1 ex, instead of starting with hunter bow u instead start with normal one. When u slam the ex use a hunter ex for the second slam after u get the +1 and u will get the dot multi 100%.
this is also good for the new league mechanic where u chase for a good Bow base and only when u find that u spend the hunter exalt on it, imo.
is this really work ? does the bow become hunter influenced after hunter ex slam on second?

hey, I was wondering if you had some info on the interactions between spiritual command wilmas requital and the unveil for minion attack and cast speed on bow. if it actually works this would give like 80% attack speed just for the unveil
I think with a 2 stat magic bow (attack speed + something) it is better to regal anul anul than anul regal anul. 0.66*0.5 = 33% vs 0.5*0.5 = 25%. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong

hey man love the video, gonna be trying this build out and crafting a thicket bow, just wondering what i need to color the bow vs the chestpiece as they both say g=g=g=g=g=g on pob, if i have the thicket bow do i run ensnaring arrow on it or the ballista setup?
for end game bow, you don't need a hunter base, you only need a basic bow, then later on instead of slamming 2 ex slam 1 hunter 1 exalt instead. Save you 1 ex

Except exalts are 20c and hunter exalts are 1+ divine.
But your method is correct and IF you can't get a hunter base for a good price, then going your route would be more economical. So really it comes down to how much you can get the base for. If its 20-50c for the base and then another 20-30c for each exalt, that will be cheaper than buying a hunter exalt.
@@originalsh4rpie372 there won't ever be a scenario where a 6 link thicket hunter bow would be less expensive during the first week.

for the last +2 to level of socketed support gems in your craft of exile it says ilvl80, but you advised to go with an item level 78 minimum. Is that a mistake or it bypasses it ? because if not then you can only apply +1 and not +2 on the last step if your ilvl is 78 or 79.
After farming the blue Bois(forgot the name😅) I finally won the second 50/50 yesterday and continued crafting it today and hit the T1 max roll chaos damage😮

assuming you are using Wilma's requital, would it not be better to use a Deafening essence of Misery for 39-42% cast speed rather then T1 attack speed?
Looking at your video @4:00 even t3 dot multi is ilvl 60, doesn't the porcupine give an ilvl 50 or am i missing something?
Honestly essences of dread might be so expensive that it could potentially not be worth it at all to craft the "budget" bow.. and for the super casuals.. don't expect to be able to afford a quill rain for the first week.. I've been around long enough to know what happens when you not only have multiple content creators playing the same build.. but also EVERY content creator praising a build as easily a top 3 league starter.. gonna be a rough go for a lot of the people watching these videos 😅
It's a common drop and also "Item sells for a unique Short Bow" early on will spit them out. It'll be fine.
Essence of Dread are never super expensive, they are pretty common drop with the new atlas passives. Also, Essence is on the Kirac options this league, so even more common.
Could you please give an advice how you craft your quiver? I have tried with Craft of Exile but have no idea :(
i think with the league mechanic item lvl will matter a lot, but with it not being a unique, you can probably raise it through league craft
@Palsteron, with regards to 8:00, while having both multimod + cannot roll, can u try to annul instead of remove the crafted? i mean if u hit chaos roll, its a win unless its t2/t1 and if it hits +1 still guaranteed by exalt, and if u hit cannot roll thats a free multimod? or am i missing something?
yeah you can try and try to save some, but you have 2/4 chance that you will annul prefix and will have to re-exalt it and try another annul (thats circa +30c each time) and you may end up with worse chaos roll. On average you profit though
if anyone is confused - annul won’t remove attack speed (thus bricking whole craft) because of attack metamod

The endgame variant only works if you have empower gem correct? Asking because I'm SSF and am yet to find empower and just ran through some PoB and it was a DPS loss to use the 'endgame variant' that has +2 socketed support gems. The biggest gains come from toxic rain gem level and running the 'endgame' without empower reduces its overall level.
If I got super lucky and hit +3 on my second Dread but didn't get any attack speed, is it worth investing the divine? Or do I just take the 4c +3 porcupine and call it a day?

One question: To do Uber Bosses with TR Ballista, do I need a crafted bow or can they be done with Quill Rain too?
For ubers you'd want crafted. It is a substantial dps increase (6.65m dps with quill, 8.39m dps with +3 bow. A 27% increase. The Endgame +3 gets around 10.5m dps)

One of the nodes on the crucible bow example is 15% increased explicit speed modifier magnitudes. Would that be good on a quill rain?

It would be good, yeah. Essentially turns the 100% attack speed on quill rain into 115%

Guys, i have unveiled many 2 handed weapon, bows and staves, cant seem to get the craft for chaos damage over time. Is it specific veiled mod or just generic veiled mod?

I keep seeing videos crafting this exact same bow. While this is fine for people on a budget, it is still ~15% less dps than if you don't craft the multi mod and instead get "damage over time multiplier". so the BIS bow is +1 socketed gems, +2 socketed bow gems, Chaos multi, damage over time multi, attack speed, and increased chaos damage. As someone who has never crafted before but has quite a lot of currency, how to craft a BIS bow would be great to know.
How do you get the chaos dmg over time mod? Since i cant find it
Will not be better to roll cast speed (Misery essence) instead of attack speed as we using a Wilma helmet anyway? 49 Cast Speed is a lot. However, you need to use annulments as essence will roll also other mods as well.
No. Attack/Cast Speed on weapons is local and does not contribute to wilma's double-dipping in any way and is making you slower with the loss of attack speed on your bow.

Might not be a good idea with corrupting your 6l quill rains, if you wanna juice it up with crucible passive tree
Hey, Does it make sense to craft a bow with the cast speed instead of a/s, if we use Wilma's Requital(Increases and Reductions to Cast Speed apply to Attack Speed)? We can get 40-49% cast speed
For ex:
47% increased Cast Speed
+1 to Level of Socketed Gems
90% increased Chaos Damage over Time
{crafted}+2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems
{crafted}+18% to Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier
No, the cast speeds only applies locally to the bow so Wilma's wouldn't apply.
@@adalos1953 Casting speed isn't a local value, but a global. Weapon don't have a casting speed parameter instead of a/s. The base cast time is derived from the spell being used and and doesn't depend on the weapon base. Or I'm wrong?
@@KuJlJlo you're right. You have to compare if global 49% attack speed is faster than 20% local attack speed. I think not, especially if you have a lot of global attack/cast speed elsewhere. Cause local attack speed changes your weapon base attack speed which then gets scaled by everything else.
Soooo, the regal slam added "+1 to level to socketed gems", so I now have a rare with only attack speed and the +1. Is there anything that I can do with that to save on currency for the rest of the craft, or should I just follow it regardless? I wonder if I could just add "cannot roll attack mods" and slam exalt, but that leaves an open suffix - how badly could that screw me? Also, when should I slam with hunter's orb?
Looking at craft of exile, seems if I now added "cannot roll attack mods" and slammed hunter's, I'd have 37% chance of getting the chaos dmg over time prefix, and 63% chance of bricking it with trash suffix. Not sure if I like this odds.
So it's 37% chance of saving 2 div on one of the "can have 3 crafted mods" crafts, and 63% of wasting 2.4 div (cannot roll attack craft + cost of hunter's exalt), so negative
expected value of -0.77 div.
Guess all it did is save me a regular exalt :P
what if i got +1 on socketed gems and +2 on bow gems + random mods (open prefix and sufix)? how do i proceed with that? or do i just keep rolling for attack speed? pls help this is confusing
I took the end game bow and plugged it into pob and it shows just under 5% dps increase. This isn't correct right? Unless you only do that upgrade AFTER you have 3/4 empower?
Did you socket your main skill into the bow?
In general, the endgame bow is still going to win out because you get a 6-link alongside it!
Could you explain how to get the 6 link on the ligtning coil if we want to corrupt it, my doubt is if we 6 socket and try to 6 link then corrupt it or corrupt it then try to 6 socket and 6 link, never sailed on these waters. ty

Toxic Rain never got me anywhere in PoE, with Splitting Steele I was able to beat all the content in 3.24.
Never done toxic rain. Would flat chaos prefix help any or is it basically worthless?
toxic rain is damage over time, a very small part of the damage is the explosion of the pods, that explosion does benefit from added chaos, but the bulk of the damage comes from what comes after the explosion, the chaos damage over time. This is why attack speed and dot multipliers are king in toxic rain.

I'm used essence of misery for mid game bow and obtained +3 bow gem (ilvl need 64+), 49cast speed (with our helmet - cast speed = attack speed) and 20% chaos multi. Like this game))
Does it work like that? I thought Cast speed becomes Global Attack speed, not local?

You may want to start with getting quality to above 24% for quality affects attack speed.

NB4 I get a skill tree on my QuillRain and then merge that one with another Quillrain
I raise you a +4 (+5 with empower) bow thanks to a crucible tree passive "+1 to socketed bow gems".
What's the downside of using Porcupine bow and slamming hunter ex on that instead? Is the base that much worse?
You cannot use Hunter exalt on bow with item level so low it doesn't have influenced modifiers (need 68+) and to get the chance for the highest tier of increased chaos dot you need ilvl78+ bow

Does it work with T2 attack speed?
There is a mistake with cost additional exalted orb + alteration's (becouse of a bit higher pref/suffix pool when alt spamm). U need just T1 attack speed rare bow WITHOUT influence, then multiple mod + cannot roll attack mod + exalt slam + hunter exalt slam.
This is not a mistake. To roll T1 attack speed is 1/154 with no influence vs. 1/163 with the hunter mods in the pool, which is not even 10c worth of alts even if you get unlucky with annuls. Since a hunter's exalt is at least 100c more than a regular exalt you come out way ahead just buying a hunter base (they are way less than 100c even early league) and using a few extra alts.
@@verdesmarald late reply but its still cheaper to start with a 6l bow and use a hunter ex because fusings are expensive early on

I just realized... I will probably be quite starved on currency this league compared to 3.20... because I won't be able to shovel Divines out of the sanctum by the bucketload and getting good weaponry to sell in the crucible is so wildly random... I need to reign in some expectations of mine... 🤔
You have no idea how fast base weapons will level and how often they'll have "Item sells for a Divine Orb" (or a something else valuable)

Attack speed. I don't think the extra arrow helps much
It says you need an ilevel 80 to craft the +2 to support gems mod. So the ilevel 78 won't work.
It's a bench craft, you can just craft it on the ilvl78 bow. The reason you want ilv 78 is because of access to the tier 1 hunter mod (90-94% Chaos DoT). This mod has to be applied with an exalt, hence why you do need the ilv 78, unlike the bench craft, which doesn't require it (hence why you don't need 80).

if you mean e.g. hunter slam on the bow he crafted in part 1 --- if it's from porcupine it will be too low ilvl for the mods you want

It's really not. A T1 attack speed and a t4 (lowest) hunter mod is around 10.5m dps on his build. With the hunter mod at T1, the attack speed needs to be at least t2 just to break even. Its also much easier to hit T1 atk speed with alterations than it is to roll a T1 hunter mod.
So to recap, from best to worst:
T1 Spd T1 Hunter
T1 Spd T2 Hunter
T1 Spd T3 Hunter
T1 Spd T4 Hunter = T2 Spd T1 Hunter
T3 Spd T1 Hunter
And so on.
@@originalsh4rpie372 i'm not talking about the hunter mod. You can get 3 dot damage mod on the bow. One suffix, the other is chaos dot from hunter mod and the last one is on the crafting bench alongside with +2 support gem.
So i dont get it. You said that we dont need rare bow for endgame, and can be good with quil rain. And now you telling that we need +3 endgame bow for bosses, and quill rain is just for mapping
