I've had the trunk struts for about a year now and I think today is the day they go in. If I can keep my fingers from going numb in the cold. Thanks for the great video, not skipping over the annoying little clips and such. Well done. God bless!
Thanks for the video. It made it a whole lot easier for me. I was not clear on those clips and how to release them. I did not want to make a mistake and damage anything if I didn’t have to. good job!!
Thanks for the video - I could not find one showings replacement for my volvo s60, as they are hidden like your lexus, which from your video thankfully is a similar design. I had earlier called the dealer for replacement - they waned $220 for each trunk strut + labor. Thanks to your video I did it for $35.
I saw your video regarding the front hood lift and I didn’t know the rear trunk has lift also. My daily 2007 Lexus IS350 hood lift finally went out. You’re like me I keep my cars forever 😊 Thank you for the video. No problems with the gaps of each side of the trunk?
So the trunk doesn’t open automatically? I think that’s what everyone is used to and expects. Will keep looking for the right ft-lb strength to achieve this effect
The trunk lid on this car was never designed to fully open by itself at the push of a button. I have seen a few people attempt this, but they distorted the trunk lid with overpowered lift struts and you can see it when it is closed. When this Lexus model was brand new, the trunk lid only opened about an inch after the button was pushed.
The trunk lid on this car is not designed to open fully at the push of a button. It is only supposed to pop the trunk up about a half inch so it is unlatched, then you have to lift it up by hand. Bad struts will make it hard to unlatch the trunk lid after pushing the release button on the dash over and over. That is when you know you need new lift support struts.

Glad it helped!
Great video. I had my volume up all the way and could not hear very well. Very informative and lots of great video.

Does anyone know where to buy one of these clips/ hooks that broke off in the video? My car is missing one...
Does it open all the way up by the push of the button on the key or just opens a lil then u have to lift it a lil to have it open all the way

Hi I replaced the Trunk Supports from Lexus and when I press the Trunk Release it only goes up a few inches ?Any thoughts ?

Do you remember the dimensions of the cylinders? Length, stroke, diameter?
Hi I'm certain my truck lifts are gone, it does slam quite hard but can it also peal of the paint because that's what happening to my car
The paint should not get damaged (chip or peel) unless body panels are contacting somewhere. Is your trunk lid misaligned?
@ the bumper is little bit out of place I know off, could that be the reason? I can't post a pic on here
Do you have IG maybe I can send you a pic
What a great video, tx it made my job way easier, not that it was, those tabs in the rear are hard to remove but all came out in one piece.. haha
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Hell yeah thanks for the video
Could you write down the ОЕМ number? Thanks!
THREE TAPS OF THE BOOT BUTTON G
not a fan of these struts dynamic: the way it hits the end and bounces back instead of dampening to zero speed looks wrong and cheap.
I was thinking the same thing I rather deal with the OEM and lift that heavy sob like I normally do
I installed Stabilus 4B-0895QR and they have very nice ease out.
