lets hope Depo upgraded the quality on those LED boards. The last version lasted 2 weeks for some people. I never even used mine, swapped them with a custom board with my retrofit build.

Totally doing exactly this. I've been rocking stock. I'm tired of having to buff the yellow out every year and the drl are acting up when the low beams are on. This setup looks fantastic!
YES! The vland headlights are nice, but a little too aftermarket looking for me, and a bit too much money. The biggest reason I didn't get them is because they don't have side marker lamps which are required. But these look great! Cant wait to upgrade!

What style or size are the low beam LEDs? What are the bulb hole shapes/pattern on Depo headlights? I converted my stock HID wiring to aftermarket pigtails that will fit new bulbs, however I’ve also order a ton of LED bulbs, that don’t FIT INSIDE FACTORY HOUSING PLATE because they need that DS4 fitment. So I’m trying to upgrade but your video doesn’t show specific bulb and housing bulb plate fitment design.
Im having an issue with the light projection on my Depos. It seems to be pretty spotty and there’s a shadown down the middle of the light projection. Is there any resolution to adjust that if anyone has had this issue?
So you have put an LED bulb in these? What kind/Size of LED? Depo gives you Halogen bulbs instead of the HID bulbs? Or are those the same type of bulb.
If you’re in between buying these or vlands, get the vlands! I wanted the oem look and this video sold me. The DRL is amazing! Super bright and works just like oem. But the projectors on these are horrible! Very spotty and patchy light with weird reflections. I’ve tried the original halogen bulbs, leds, and an HID kit and they’re all terrible. I even got them professionally aimed to try to help the such poor output. If you’re going for looks get these. If you’re going for light output, get the vlands. I wish I could return these but you can’t once they’re installed. I very much regret the purchase and wish I got the vlands. Hope this helps someone.
@@Legends yes 100%! After tax and shipping you’re looking a little under $500 for these. Definitely worth the extra $100 or so for the vlands. Much better light output, free shipping, and a better return policy if you buy from Amazon or eBay. I can’t stress enough how bad the projectors are in these. My oem halogen were better. 15 years old and super foggy and yellow. I can send a picture if you’re interested. I also plan on trying to sell these for cheap if you’re interested.

Good video! I have a question. When replacing the low beam with LED bulb, does the cut-off line come out the same as the OEM HID headlights? In my experience, when I put an LED bulb on a halogen product (DEPO headlight), light leaked over the cut-off line.
If anyone could please help me out. I installed the factory OEM check mark lights from my 2012 to my friends 2009. Everything works but the check mark DRL lights. I was told it’s a feature you have to turn on by using a computer with Lexus software.
@@larkt6693 they are $1,000 + thats why these are a good replacement option, they will not be the exact quality of oem but thats with any aftermarket parts, they look pretty decent as even the oem ones had problems with moisture and water getting in. For under $500 it's a good deal.

Hey Marty, are the actual LEDs different in the DRL strip on these V2 versions or is it just the wire that goes to the battery that’s different from the V1 Depos?
Well....VLAND is a full LED unit with nice turn signals and triple beam LED. 2 are for low beam and 1 is for high beam. They don’t have the greatest output being LED, but look awesome with their DRL check mark that doubles as a turn signal. The issue is that if anything goes wrong, you have to replace the whole headlight unit and not just a bulb. DEPO, VIPMotoz and Spyder all have factory-looking replacement headlight sets that use independently changeable bulbs like the factory setup. You can use halogen, LED or in some cases HID. I think both look good and can work well, but VLANDs are definitely the more expensive option.

I see that a wire needs to be hooked up to the battery for the high beams to work, but it doesn't really talk about the original high beam DRLs. I would have been great if you showed the original high beam DRL on with the old headlight and the high beam DRL disabled on the new headlight (if that is the case). Thanks!
Just an FYI, taking out the Fuse will indeed stop the AFS light from blinking. However, you will lose auto leveling (up and down) when doing so during start up. Auto-leveling is different from AFS. AFS the projector moves left and right during turns which was removed from factory for 2011-2013 IS models with the new headlight option. If the blinking AFS lights bothers you and you want to keep auto-leveling, I recommend opening up the cluster and using black electrical tape to cover up the light.

I left my fuse in because I wanted to keep auto leveling functioning and used black electrical tape to cover the blinking AFS light in the cluster. The fuse is tied to both Auto leveling and AFS . If you don't care for auto leveling then taking out the fuse is the easiest way to remove the blinking AFS light (AFS- your projectors move left and right when turning. You lose this when upgrading to the new headlight.)
Cool, but i don't think you'll still have AFS then aftermarket headlights don't have that function built in, they have plastic caps in place of the auto level motors. Im not sure if the V2 ones have auto level now but as far as I know they don't.
@@michaelmartinez4515 Correct. AFS function is removed from the newer headlights. If your car originally had AFS then your AFS light will blink on your dash when upgrading. I have OEM 12-13 headlights. So I'm not sure if the DEPO ones has auto-leveling for V1 or V2. DEPO is a great option for the price cuz I paid an arm and a leg for the OEM ones. This was before DEPO was available.
Go vlands for sure! I bought these and totally regret them over the vlands. The DRL is beautiful and just like oem, but the projector is terrible. Very spotty, patchy light with very bad output. In my Lexus RX350, the fuse for my driver’s side low beam keeps blowing, I replaced the bulbs and the fuse still blows when the lights are turned on. Is it most likely the ballast that needs to be replaced or should I be checking for other possible problems?
@@cp3onmtv963 ya, it was the ballast. A new oem ballast cost me ~$85, and I just pulled the bumber, front grill, and light off myself and replace the ballast that sits on the bottom of the light assembly. It’s pretty simple, just make sure that if you do it yourself that the ground wire contacts actual bare metal on the new ballast as mine was painted around the ground mount. So I just took a little sandpaper to remove the pain around it before putting the bolt on for the ground. Just a little thing that could be easily overlooked.
anyone know what size screwdriver for horizontal adjustment. installed them the other day with some amazon special led bulbs and gotta say the beam pattern is pretty bad right now, very jagged and gross. adjusted them to my liking vertically but i feel like being able to adjust horizontally will help me level out the pattern. none of my screwdrivers work, cant feel anything turning.
for anyone wondering you need a 8”+ inch ph2/ph3 screwdriver. the output is still ass tho lol. picked up a HID kit so ill see if the output is better than the led output. if its even 5% better than the spotty ass led output these halogen projectors give off ill he happy. sorry marty but i cant believe you said these project “just as well if not better” than the stock projectors. tried two diff LED bulb sets, one being the ZDATT brand you told me and still its horrendous.

Nice information video! Did you have to disable the highbeam/drl iva techstream? I live in Canada and our version of Techstream doesn't allow for disabling the DRL unfortunately....

According to DEPO they are Osram LED boards..
Now if only they would restock them so that I can purchase a set.

that ISF's paint looks dang good, too bad not many 2012+ ISFs are available with that paint code.

I believe they are brighter LEDs and that harness helps a lot with powering the brighter ones

DEPO is good brand. I have a pair on my Corolla. As a bonus, they are made in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and not China 🇨🇳
The ballast are blown when you put LEDs in the high beam and the caps can’t fit because larger bulbs, I know from experience bro.
Hmm could be, since moisture gets in there. I didn’t keep my HID lights very long when I had my IS. Switching to LED looked cleaner.

I read somewhere on a lexus forum you can just take out the AFS fuse and it'll disabled the light on the dash.

for anyone wondering you need a 8”+ inch ph2/ph3 screwdriver. the output is still ass tho lol. picked up a HID kit so ill see if the output is better than the led output. if its even 5% better than the spotty ass led output these halogen projectors give off ill he happy. sorry marty but i cant believe you said these project “just as well if not better” than the stock projectors. tried two diff LED bulb sets, one being the ZDATT brand you told me and still its horrendous.
on a brighter note the DRL do be looking good during the day lol. really elevates the presence of the car.

They seem to go out stock a lot but are still being produced from what I know!
They are back in stock now at unique style racing. I placed my order March 14 and they were delivered yesterday.

Nice information video! Did you have to disable the highbeam/drl iva techstream? I live in Canada and our version of Techstream doesn't allow for disabling the DRL unfortunately....

How do I know if mine is xenon and how do you disable?
Disabling the AFS system means just pulling a fuse. Xenon is HID which is very white and bright compared to halogen
