bought this on a black friday sale from best buy for $800 and so far has been well worth the money just got enough money to buy an extra 1TB of storage and am gonna use this video as a reference for installation thanks.

thanks for the video. I just got this laptop and at the time of purchase i had no idea it had an extra ssd slot. So pumped and as someone who has experience taking laptops and desktops apart i was still worried to do this myself with how much the laptop was.

You may not have the additional slot. I've complained to Amazon and Asus about the false advertising but they still haven't taken down the post. Only some variants of the board have the additional slot. You won't know until you look.
Even if you dont need to install a second SSD, you should still move the default SSD to the other slot, which is away from the CPU heat pipe.
For those who are looking for a budget gaming laptop, this is a decent one. I've got this instead of Lenovo in the same specs and its cheaper!!

You have to remove the back panel from the backside...there is a hairline clip which is attached amd after slotting it out from the back side...the whole panel comes out...dont use a flat head...you can do it by hand.... once again...its from the back side,where the air exits

My TUF FX506IV laptop RAM was installed add'l 8gb. However that black cover (I guess it is an insulator) from spare slot was not reinstalled back. Is it ok?

I mean i will migrate windows installation to the samsung 970, and off course will keep the stock drive.., do i have to put it in one or the other m.2 port? Are they identified in the board as 1 and 2? Or it does not matter?

I'm about to add another ssd to mine. I read something about the 2nd slot being a slower speed? and that where the boot ssd is located it ends up taking heat from the heatsink? should I move the initial drive to the 2nd slot and the new ssd to default?
I also got some thermal pads and more or less know where to apply them but i also seen some ppl but them on the fan connected to the heatsink, does that sound right?
This is super weird, did you changed the background at the startup ?(the galaxy) I got the exact same one.
I am thinking to add the extra ssd but I can play all the games I can think of. Like Warzone, all on high/very high and raytrace with 80/100 fps.

Someone did a video about this. At the end the best solution was just to let more air for better ventilation/cooling by raising a bit the laptop from the table. Simple.

There are a total of 2 SSD slots in the Asus Tuf A15. There can be a possible 3rd SATA SSD slot depending on the type of battery you have.
Is this the model with Ryzen 4600h 8GB RAM, 256SSD & GTX 1650?
Everybody says this is a big battery, but mine can only last 3h, just watching movies, which I think is really bad. And also on 70% brightness. I really don't know why? Do you think, the battery is damaged? How long should you charge it first time? I only managed to charge it for about 6-7h. Do you think that's why it's so shit? Is there any way to reset the battery and charge it longer once again? Thanka for help beforehand

you can use speccy to see the memory brand. In my laptop asus from this series are ddr4 samsung 3200mhz 8gb for ryzen 9 type with 512 nvme by default.

I have this laptop but with the smaller battery and besides it I have an empty 2.5 inch bay. I want to put a 2.5" SSD there, but there is no SATA connector, it's just an empty bay. How can I do this, should I buy some sort of cable or SATA to m.2 adapter?

You can't it'll have to be an m.2 if you have the extended battery. Same thing I did with mine
