It's based on an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor, 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB SSD and the overclocked Nvidia RTX 2060 90W GPU. Nice laptop! AMD bringing some innovation to the market, but when I bought my 8GB DDR3 Samsung laptop in 2011, I thought that no new notebook in 2020 will have only 8GB, 32GB minimum.
Kynareth6 that’s a crazy thought imo. Plus we are using ddr4 and 16GB dual channel should be minimum for gaming laptops (8gb BARE minimum)
well actually 16gb in dual channel is really all anyone needs if they are gaming anyway. so chucking 32 gigs in there wouldn't make much sense
Because the smart phone market is using all the rams which has drive up the price of rams that's supposed to be cheaper to produce.

Great review ! For the next one you can use MSI Afterburner software that you will have the on screen monitor for GPU and CPU temperature, and loading! Which is a great value for watchers. 😉

That newer Vega gpu, and then the separate Nvidia gpu. I'd imagine it gives you the option to tell it which one to use in games and various gpu heavy production software??? Sounds like a beast of a machine potentially
Yes, I have an older Asus Tuf Fx505. You can change the settings in Nvidia control panel on which programs uses Vega graphics or Nvidia graphics.
I just wanted to knew when you play like 3/4 hours. Is the laptop very hot or loud or anything else??

I've got Ryzen 9 4900H, GPU 2020 But just realized surprisingly the battery is only 3cells with 48wha..going to use it for studying but also illustration and video editing and photoshops.. do you think will it be do the job better if I exchange for ryzen 7 4000series or intel7(9th), 1660ti with larger battery if I want to use it portable purpose?

I’m getting a laptop because we barely have space in my apartment lol. I wish I could get a PC so I could upgrade it but this laptop will make me happy for a couple years at least.

The display alone would make u return this laptop... this is unacceptable from asus... at least the zephyrus g14 has has better panels... i would wait to see what other laptops release tbh

@@sishirshrestha1783 I think u r confusing 3750h with 4800h, the 3750h bottlenecks 2060 not 4800h. U can check austin evans' video launched today, he says 4800h is bottlenecked by 2060 mq and it will actually be able to push 2070 or 2080.

Ryzen 7 4800H + RTX 2060

When I turned on my A15 (Ryzen 9) for the first time, it failed to boot around 4 or 5 times, it restarted on its own during all these failed boots, and succeeded on its own without my intetlrvention. The lights on the keyboard flashed a couple times, the Asus logo popped up, then just turned off with something that sounded like the hard drive/ssd turning off. Should I be concerned? I had charged it for around 2 hours prior to turning it on.
maybe drivers problem. you can try to reset the windows to the factory settings

screen is fine for the price. low backlight bleed high refresh rate. the only things that i've heard are the colors are a bit washed out and ghosting is a small problem. i've heard the wifi chip is a bit old but upgradable

hope in there's 90Wh battery part sold here in my country, so I can ditch 48Wh battery and 2.5" SATA slot for it. it's possible to do right? there's no 90Wh variant sold here, which is dumb af.
Hmmm...should i buy this laptop or should i wait for another version of the same caliber and price range? I love everything about it and I am constantly searching for better laptops but I am consistently coming back to this one every time. If it came with a better screen and that screen raised the price by $100 dollars, that would be a definite winner for me - instant buy.

I suspect some of the high temperature is due to limited airflow, there really does not seem to be many cutouts in the bottom panel, and they do not seem to be placed where the intakes for the fans are.
Perhaps it can be run without the bottom panel if it is propped up a bit, and see if the airflow is a real issue. If someone is going to be modding it with better thermal paste, it might be worth it to see it would be possible to modify the bottom to let more air into the fans.

Hello, I want to buy a laptop, but I'm stuck between choices. I'm interested in laptops with cheap video cards, such as GTX1650, 1650Ti, and RX5500M. Which of these video cards is better for laptops.
The RX5500M is the fastest, though if you can, please save up for the 1660 Ti. It's much faster than any of those three.
i saw a review from bob of all trades that said the screen has extremely bad colors and response time.
Did you check on asus main website bro? It literally said in the specs that this screen only carry 45% NTSC. Fair, since it is a heavy gaming laptop, not workstation or editor laptop.

@@ACE112ACE112 they gave you a mobile cpu so powerful that can replace a desktop one with a good recent graphic card, huge ssd upgrade and cooling is good too. Dont forget it only costs you $ 1200 in retail. With powerful specs and huge ssd slot for intel laptops, you would have to pay almots 50% more, spend that money to buy a monitor and plug it into the TUF A15

This is the laptop I have:
ASUS TUF Gaming FA506IV-AL043T 15.6" Ryzen 7 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
I'll say all the negative first: webcam is trash. battery is trash.
Everything else is good imo. Plays all the games at max level (I only play fighting games), and runs video editing programs well.
Over all 5/5 from me.
Is this laptop is capable of 3D workload as well as vfx work ? Cuz it's specification is too good so I m confused what will I borrow PC or laptop?
Sure, if you want use this laptop for 3D and/or visual effects applications then it would preform pretty well

@@bharatwagh1165 You can get better value from a desktop PC. Really the only reason to choose a laptop instead of a desktop PC is the portability of a laptop. (I'm assuming you mean desktop when you say PC. Desktops and laptops are both categorized as PCs.)

I’m sorry but the battery is what did it for me, amazing battery life for programming/creating on the go and powerful for when i’m at home and want to play video games, just plug it to my tv and the screen won’t be an issue. The battery for the specs is just 🤤🤤🤤

Found best settings was getting rid of asus apps. Just let windows control it. I was having so many FPS issues before that.

Can't monitor the cpu with any software exept for the BIOS. have you encountered such a problem? I have installed win10 and the drivers myself from the asus website.
you cant monitor it with Task Manager?

But if I were you I would buy the new HP omen, it has 2070 and i7 and for the price it's a really good deal.

I am thinking about buying this for mostly university use with gaming on the side (both single player and fps games e.g. overwatch/pubg etc.). Do you think the brightness and the latency of the display will be a problem/annoying t use?

@@fadilnatakusumah195 After a lot of research I have found out that it's perfectly fine for a regular user (and gamer) for general in-house (and of course university) use. Personally I opted for the lenovo legion 5 and HP Omen 15. I'm currently waiting for the HP Omen 15 Ryzen 7 4800H-2060 to become available in my region. If the A15 has a better price in your region and you are not a content creator or someone that will notice the lower color gamut and you are going to use it indoors then I would suggest it.
@@g_stou in my country the omen with R7 + rtx2060 is already available, but it's too expensive for me. and then there's A15 with R7 + gtx1660ti for about same price as Legion 5 R7 + gtx1650ti (and better display 100%srgb). I'd choose to buy Legion 5, but I think it's still not worth it, because the gtx1650ti, and there's Legion 5i i7+gtx1660ti with same price as the two above (and better screen). But then again it's not Ryzen CPU. right now I'm still waiting the Legion 5 with gtx1660ti in my country, so I think I better wait this one first
@@fadilnatakusumah195 If you don't care about the lower battery life due to the Intel CPU, the 5i is a great choice. The difference between the i7 10th Gen and the Ryzen 7 can only be seen when benchmarking or running multi-threaded/single-threaded heavy applications. For a regular user they are both more than enough. Also keep in mind the Legion 5 is heavier and a bit bigger. For me battery life (hence I want the ryzen) and weight is important. So you just have to weight what you value more. The display quality is important to me too although I'm not a very demanding user.
