Sold my 3d printed clamp, felt very cheap.then bought the official tsprof single clamp, now I'm satisfied.
Much needed video!
I have the tsprof blitz, and the screws in the clamps come loose, do you know of a source for replacement screws or blitz clamps?
The screws are too little and too soft.
Honestly have no idea brother, if I find anything out I’ll let you know
ok thanks
Good stuff, subscribed. Have you used clippercide or similar clipper disinfectant/lubricant to clean up knife blades and prevent rust?
Thanks brother and no its too expensive for that lol! I use 91% alcohol to clean just about everything and anything! I don’t encounter corrosion often because I keep my blades clean and dry but when ever I do find some I just use some mineral oil or wd40 and a brush, that usually does the trick because I catch it before it gets bad. Just keeping your blade clean really helps prevent it in the first place though!
@@BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL Ahh, I'm w you on the 91% alcohol. I've had some rust on an M4 Mantra that had been sitting awhile. So, I've been wiping down less stainless steels for storage w various oils.
I came across a can of clippercide for free, and thought it'd be convenient for blade care across the board. Basically just isopropyl, mineral oil, from what I can tell. But your channel immediately came to mind!
@@anthonycardona1121 im sure it can’t hurt but its just not what I would use. Anytime I’m really concerned about a knife corroding, I clean it really well with alcohol and then apply EDCI! Leaving a light coating of any oil will protect it also. I just like edci because you wipe it off and the blade is dry but still protected.
I'm admiring your hex drivers, are they the ball-end?
Much easier to work with than using the included hex keys w/ TSPROF.
Thought about getting a set of the TSPROF - but they are often sold out, and I've heard they aren't worth the price?
I'm still learning here with my KO-3, and have had some good results with 3 micron diamond lapping film for that pretty mirror edge...
The hex drivers are square end or whatever the term would be for a standard hex tip. Ive had them for a long long time and they have held up perfectly! If you shoot me a message reminder on IG, I’ll find these same ones I bought and send you the link! They weren’t very expensive either, maybe $20 for a set of 5. 1.5,2,2.5,3&3.5mm
I definitely would not spend the money for the tsprof branded drivers because they are literally the same thing rebranded!
I just added the link in the video description under “TOOLS I USE AND RECOMMEND”! 👊🏼😁
Hey man cool upload as always- do you ever see your sharpening business expanding beyond Instagram/dms into maybe even a full website or something? Asking for a social media avoidant friend lol
Not sure tbh, really depends if it would be really beneficial and if id be able to manage it with everything else I’m trying to do!
Hi bro. Great video, as always 👍
You don't use the liquidretro adapter anymore?
Also, have you ever tried the TSPROF fillets clamps? I had hesitated between these and this central clamps for sharpening EDCs (you know, to avoid the stone rubbing against the clamps) and I took the fillets clamps.
I'm probably going to switch to the K03 pro Hunter and I'm still hesitating with this central clamp...
I kinda like this better just because it looks cleaner to me but I still have my adapter and it worked well. Just depends how much money you want to spend. As for the filet clamps I haven’t tried them so I can’t really say
Do the standard dual clamps that come with the Kadet system not work with Spyderco’s full flat grinds?
They can but there’s a little learning curve to it. The Tsprof is a very nicely made system but it’s definitely not the most user friendly. I personally wouldn’t recommend it to anyone just starting out. The KME is still what I recommend for most people and I still enjoy using mine just because of its simplicity. I also get just as good if not better results with the KME. Only downside is the time it takes to reprofile with a 4 inch stone vs using a 6 inch
I'm just curious, what is that watch You have on?
Its a citizen, not sure what model. I bought it like 6 years ago. It charges by motion which is pretty cool and ive never had it stop keeping time accurately so I like it!
I have another question, did you start free Handing before Using the system for sharpening knife
@@markfletcher5267 yes, I started with a smith tri-stone bench stone and learned how to sharpen freehand first but I never took it to the level that ive gone with guided systems.!
