    I'm using the standard milled clamps that came with my K03. I also use the "L" brackets that allow the clamps to be flush against each other and be centered on the sharpener. Very solid setup. This single clamp is very popular with TSPROF users but I don't see that I need it? Love your channel.

      @@fredstephens6737 thank you! And I use the standard clamps as well depending on the blade grind. The standard clamps need a flat area to get a solid clamp so I use them when I can but for blades with full flat grinds (which aren’t actually flat lol they taper down in thickness from the spine all the way to the edge) they require a clamp that the angle the jaws contact the blade to get a solid clamp on them. You can sometimes make due with the standard clamps but they arent ideal for everything. Still great for knives that they work with though and the single beefy 4mm hex is definitely more convenient!

    Just ordered the single clamp also from Tools and knives. Hope shipping is just as fast as yours. I have also been using the adapter but struggled to get one solid fit nice and tight especially with smaller blades. The adapter works well but wanted a more consistent edge. Curious I have been using my starter stones dry, sounds like mineral oil is the ticket… good video thanks for all the tips…

      Awesome man, I’m really liking mine! Oil definitely helps in multiple ways! And as far as getting a good clamp, that was never a issue for me with any tsprof clamps. Sometimes you have to play around with it until you get it good but if you want to save yourself alot of hassle when trying to get a solid clamp, plastidip it like I did! Makes it much easier! And thanks brother, you’re welcome!

      I was using that 3D printer adapter, I’m sure this will be much better. Definitely will try the plasti dip, I have been wrapping my tips with Kapton tape.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The kapton tape did ok to prevent scratches but not great for a solid grip. I only used that first because I saw it suggested but after I went to platidip it was night and day. The 3d printed adapter worked perfectly fine for me and wasn’t a issue. For me the issue was most likely due to the milled clamps being too rigid. I tried to explain that in this video… I’m not completely certain but its my best hypothesis. And even though ive been achieving great results pretty much all along, some of the knives gave me alot of trouble for whatever reasons and I just keep trying until I persevered. I’m still learning the tsprof and getting everything figured out and dialed in. I’ve learned there’s not many absolutes when it comes to sharpening because there’s always more than one way to do things and even when it comes to the best sharpeners they all have their own styles, methods and preferences. I just share my personal experiences and what I find works best for me. Its a never ending journey man, best way to get better is to just keep sharpening and don’t be scared to try different things! 99% of my current sharpening abilities are from trial and error!

    They make a stiffer set of “springs.” I have them but I havent swapped them to try them out.

    Does it work with the spyderco full flat grind ? Like say the manix ? No wobble ?

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the only knife ive had in it so far, Id expect it to work just as good especially with it being platidipped. The back screw that adjust how much the clamp opens also adjusts the angle of the clamps in relevance to the blade which allows you to get a proper clamp on different blade grinds.

      @@BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL I'm sure you'll be sharpening a spyderco pretty soon. Dont forget to let us know when you test it out. Would hate to spend that kind of money when I have a wobble on the FFG. Thanks bro.

      I used the center clamp on my KO-3 with my "Delica." Perfectly clamped, no problem on the full flat ground blades...

      @@dennish1919 not working isn’t a option lol. Im sure it will work great though. Some things just take some time and practice to figure out but this seems pretty easy. Plastidipping the area that touches the blade is a huge help too, id strongly recommend giving it a try!

      After clamping any knife I grab the handle and twist the knife a few times it will tell you how locked in place the blade is , I’ve been using my single clamp over a year with zero issues , I noticed I paid $60 for mine back in may 2022 and now it’s $92 , bought mine from Gritomatic

    Hello... Dom from France. I sharpen my blades with the TSProf K3 with the single pliers, my knives cut like razors, on the other hand, I can't manage to have tips and heels like you. I don't understand. Congratulations your mirror polished sharpenings are sublime

      Bonjour! You aren’t completely reprofiling your edges. You are apexed in the center but not on the tip or heel because those area’s always take more time. You need to spend more time on your first stone working the entire edge evenly until you have completely apexed the entire edge. You should also be frequently marking your edge with sharpie and keep going until it’s completely removed but also feel and visually inspect for a pronounced bur across the entire edge because sometimes the last bit of sharpie might wipe off and you may not be completely apexed. Once you do that, then you can move on to the next stone and continue through your progression! I have a Sharpening Playlist with alot of tips and tutorial videos that can help you improve alot! Most of them are demonstrated on the KME but its all the exact same concept so it still applies! Good luck brother, holler at me if you have any questions in the future!
