Same thing dude....but mostly when I try to be considerate of other people's emotions I realize that people spend huge amount of energy over totally irrational and nonsensical things
I'm an INFJ and I respect the hell out of INTP's. They are probably the purest thinkers that exist and I kind of envy their Ti being their lead function. I also envy them not giving nearly as much of a shit about social harmony as I do. I detest and overlook a lot of the same social conventions that INTP's do but I'm too self conscious of "playing nice" to keep social harmony intact and avoid conflict.
You can always change your personality type, it takes time, but you can slowly detach yourself from everything you have known so far. When I was 16, the first time I took the test, it turned out that I was an ENFP. Through the past five years, mostly thanks to college, I have started to question everything: friendships, relationships, traditions, religions, social standards, life goals, good & bad, etc. I slowly overcame the «life is as such because it is as such», which now lead me to become an INTP. Maybe I have always been an INTP but hiding behind an ENFP persona, I know that at least for the past year, I have become more rational and thinking. I hope this helps and also correct me if I am wrong

@@randomenfp hey I am an INTP and the best piece of advice I can give you is to show active interest in whatever more intellectual matter he shares with you. For the INTP, as from what I globally understand and from my personal experience, we are often misunderstood and we also tend not to understand people; e.g. I really like to start philosophical debates because I like to understand the pattern of thinking from an outside view and I like to challenge whatever belief is pre-established. Also, from what I understand, INTPs are social chameleons, we objectively adapt to their environment but you do sense it when we are really in their element; however, we still need our very personal space, which leads us not to entirely ghost people but simply not to engage much with people. Sometimes, it is just to reflect on ourselves or on things in general, or sometimes it is just because social activities get overwhelming. From what you tell me, I think he likes you, especially if he goes out of his way to ask you if you want to hang out and I think if he does not talk to you that often, it is only because he needs his space. How the heck do people know whether historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln were „INTP“ when the Myers-Briggs Personality Types only came out in 1944

Both. Good in that you're open-minded and adaptive and a truth-seeker. Bad in that society is primarily built to function around extroverted sensors who routinely eschew facts in favor of static and often conservative views.
I'm an INTP, and I'd have to say it's a little of both. It's wonderful and amazing to be able to get lost in thought and imagine hundreds of alternate realities and possible scenarios in which you might be interacting with people, some of them having no real application. It's amazing to be able look at the world around you and fit it into a neat organised system (in fact, one of my favorite things to do in my free time is see how many different ways I can group and organize a jar of buttons). It's wonderful to have access to an imagination that you know others do not. But it also kind of stinks sometimes. You get lonely. Now, I am not someone who particularly enjoys social interaction, but sometimes all I want is to be able to sit back and have intellectual conversation with people. I want to be able to pick and analyze someone's thoughts and intentions, I want to know their views on current issues, I want to find out their behavioral patterns, their thought process, the way they see the world. And sadly, it seems the average person is unable to handle this. I realize this may see slightly condescending or narcissistic, but that is not my intent. It is often that when I try to ask someone the deep curiosities that I have, they only respond with the ever recurring answer of "ummmmmm, I dunno". It can also be very frustrating when people simply refuse to see the truth even when you give them countless facts and statistics. Many INTPs are also led to believe they are broken and weird the entirety of their lives. The world is conditioned to believe that the amount and type of imagination that comes from an INTP is weird.
