Hey, I’m having the same issue on my 2018 f150 xlt without factory tow package. I’ve installed an oem 4/7 pin trailer plug and the oem controller switch. I can adjust the gain and it pops up on the dash but will not detect the travel trailer and will not activate the trailer brakes. I looked up the part number you provide and all listings say “must have factory tow package”.
Their description is incorrect. The first one I installed was a replacement for a truck with factory brake. Not only did it not work, but it started draining the battery over night. This part is for trucks without tow package. You must have Ford or use a Forscan to tun on the option in the truck
what exactly is the jumper kit that runs constant 12v power adapter from Etrailer that you mentioned?
I have that one and I'm able not to use it ford dealership gave me different one to use
