I know it's been a couple of years since you made this video, but man, thank you, thank you, thank you! My 2014 Chrysler 300 has EXACTLY the two issues you show. The cable on my seat came out of the gear side, and the rivet for the support bar on the seat right side broke off as well. This video could not have been any more on point! Thank you so much!!!
This worked! Quick tip for anyone doing this their are two cables on each side in total. One of them may be faulty. I almost gave up and bough a new motor but simple pulled the old cable off and install the new one with patience. With a little trial and error it will work. Good luck!
Man! Thank you. My 2016 Challenger has the exact issue you explained, moving only on one side (the left in our case). So glad I don't have to buy a whole ass new seat. Thank you, thank you!!
Just in case any one sees this all I did waS remove the metal spring and slide it back In It’s holes and it worked perfectly no need to buy new part or stress it
@@thehowardsgarage2480 I truly understand you yea your right if there spring breaks or bend time for a new one mine was still pretty good I removed the plastic and just slid in the metal back to its holes
that exact part frayed and exploded out into tiny strands in my 2008 300c. I was going to buy a whole new seat cus just the motor assembly (if you can find it) was more than an entire ebay 300/charger/durango seat, but hey an $18 unfindable """"rod"""" with a bit of work is the way better option
I don’t know what it is exactly but I think the place where that cable is supposed to go stripped out or something, because when I place my cable in, I hear it spinning but nothing moves. Only one side moves… what is that piece called? I have a Tesla Model S
Great vid! Does anyone know if its possible to manually move the seat forward and backwards in case i dont want to replace a damaged motor? With a wrench maybe?
so close. I got an 06'. Motor towards rear of seat and off set to the inside track. Motor sits about 1.5" from inside rail and 7 or so from outer rail. The inside motor turns and spins. looks like a stripped screw with shavings everwhere.. thoughts?
I have a ‘14 charger and the back of the driver seat (the “recline” function) is broke and lays all the way back. Any idea what I’ll need to replace? I’m assuming it’s a stripped gear or something. I was hoping to have the parts ordered in ahead of time before I tore it all apart. For now there’s a wood crate in the back seat propping me up 😂
Your absolute right only thing I can think of you didn’t mention that if the cable isn’t the same length as the original one or the one you have because it take two to make it work
Yeah, mine said the same thing. If the part looks the same as the one for your 2005 magnum, then it should work anyway. I haven’t worked on an older Mopar in a while so I can’t remember exactly what yours looks like in the magnum.

If yours is still good and not stripped, broken, or lost then yes it can be reused but that’s not normally the case for most people unfortunately
