My grandma got the same deal with a 0% APR loan...wish they still did deals like that. She still has it with around 150k and there's been little to no issues just kept up on regular maintenance. I have always loved her car. So I ended up getting a 2012 AWD hemi 300s the other day hopefully mine won't be struggling time will tell...wish it had the nicer looking front end and rims but those can be changed and I couldn't find a hemi with AWD in the newer models.
I did make sure it was 1 owner with oil changes every 3,500 miles (dealership recommended for sure) so far I have to fix the backup camera cables that eventually bent too much closing and opening the trunk lid.

The nozzle in the trunk is actually if you need to use a jerry can for gas, as the nozzle on the jerry can won't fit in the gas tank, you must use the plastic nozzle. It's not for anything under the hood. (source owners manual)

Incidentally, the automatic shifting into park feature was added as a response to the death of Anton Yelchin (Chekov from the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies). He had left his car while it was not in park, and the car rolled and pinned him against a fence. (The gearshift in the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was _astoundingly_ badly designed and it was really easy to leave it in gear.)

The 300 remote start will not work with less than a 1/4 tank of gas. When using the paddle shifters, if you want to shift down to the lowest allowable gear for your speed, just pull and hold the minus paddle until it stops shifting down. No need to keep pulling the paddle shifter multiple times to shift down. This will put you in the best gear for acceleration.

I bought one used 2 days ago for 8,000 cash with 140,000 miles. It’s a 2014 3.6 black with ceramic 10% tint all around including front windshield. The headlights as mentioned are ok but not amazing compared to my 2015 Tahoe or even my 06 a8. It’s a nice car but my 06 Audi a8 is more stiff, solidly built chassis, about equally as fast, the Audi has way more features aside from the back up cam. Like headlights corner with the car especially noticeable at low speeds. Soft close doors all around so much stuff to name. But 1 kicker is that Audi stays in the shop the 300 seems like I can do it all myself.

The suspension you talk about was the current 2003-2009 Mercedes E Class suspension of the time ...
It was not the older 1990's version..It was the current 2003-2009 ! A thing people say to bash Chrysler, and everyone believes it !
Suspension was not an exact copy either, you cant take it out of a Mercedes and slap it into a Chrysler...Basic geometry but changed and engineered for the Chrysler L series cars..
By 2011 Chrysler removed and replaced most of the Mercedes parts and the 2015 - current have basically nothing of the Mercedes era in them, except for the all wheel drive system....
Again the current 300/Charger/Challenger have no Mercedes parts..Except the all wheel drive system that was derived from a form of the 4 matic..
The adaptive cruise control is not a Mercedes version or part,it has nothing to do with them as of 2007 they were not together ! And the design of this wasnt theirs !
Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Active Braking
Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist etc is also not Mercedes derived...
Your 300 has little to do with Mercedes...FYI Chrysler was going to go rear drive, but mercedes forced them to use the design of the then current 2003 E Class suspension for the 2005-2010 Chrysler...They had plans to have rear drive cars again, fun fact Chrysler had a 1993 Dodge Intrepid with rear drive and a (5.9L) 360 cubic inch V-8 in it !! Also those cars were front drive but engines were not side mounted as the platform was made to be rear drive and all wheel drive !!! That was way,way before the Mercedes era...Look at the Chrysler Concept cars of the 1990's etc..
Ralph Gilles didnt design the car,he led the team of designers...It was designed by several people !
Fun fact the Mercedes SLS is based on a Dodge Viper, sure they say it isnt so but it was to be the next generation Viper/frame/suspension etc....True..Also the current line of Mercedes V-6 engines are based on Chrysler V-6 engines and more facts..
Mercedes merged with Chrysler because of Chrysler advanced Electronic division !!
The 300 has Chrysler Corporation electronics and advanced electronics are from Chrysler...FYI,Chrysler 1st to have electronic ignition, fuel injection (but didnt quite work to good like all back in the 1950's) 1st to have a Computer back in the early 1970's...
They were the same company so Mercedes bits made it into Chrysler's and Chrysler bits made it into Mercedes albeit they hid it to the general public because stuck up Mercedes buyers would look down on it..But it happened...Its funny, every Chrysler,Dodge,RAM,Jeep of that era was said to be Mercedes though it wasnt, and today its considered all Fiat although it isnt either...
Your Chrysler only has a derivative of the 4 matic awd system, not an exact copy..Suspension,electronics are not Mercedes !! And dont spread the fake news that the 2005-2010 were old 1990's E Class, they were BASED on the then new current 2003 E class suspension..that Mercedes used until 2009,Chrysler based design until 2010..Chrysler redid it in 2011 and made more changes ,the 2015- now are nothing Mercedes..

OMG!!!! There actually is someone out there that actually knows the truth! Thank you!
I am a Mopar fanatic and have been for 30 years. I DETEST Mercedes for what they did to Chrysler. You're right, Chrysler was going to build a rwd platform. Mercrap only wanted to rape Chrysler of its electronic tech and for their dealerships in North America to peddle their German crap.
The amount of bullshit that floats around social media is amazing.
Fun fact: Chrysler was doing very well in the 90's. in fact had money in the bank. But that washed up Lutz that just finished fucking over gm, decided to sell Chrysler to mercrap.
      CHRYSLER DIDNT NEED MERCEDES!

Took me for 10k in repairs in 2 years after the 3 year warranty. ...Glad to say I have been a loyal Chrysler 300 driver since 2008. The cars have been very reliable in my experience. My first one I drove for 200 thousand miles and other than dealing ball joint and tie rods at around 120 miles I was happy that every thing else was scheduled wear. It still had the original starter and alternator with 200 thousand miles. Did you know that you can disable that annoying seat belt chime? The answer is yes you can.
Step 1: Put your seat belt on.
Step 2: Press the ignition button twice to RUN (don’t start the car)
Step 3: Wait until the car boots up and the seat belt light is off.
Step 4: Unlatch the seat belt and reengage three times (you will hear a beep informing you that the seat belt chime is deactivated)
Step 5: Turn off the car and…Hooray you can now drive in a parking lot without being annoyed :)
Remember you can reactivate seat belt chime following the same steps.

When you start it back up, the chime should be gone but the light on the dash will be on. I did it to my 2006 300c SRT. Thanks for the video! You did a great job and I really enjoyed your presentation. It's Lee Iacocca who was famous for bringing Chrysler back from the brink of bankruptcy in the late 1970’s to near record sales records in the 1980’s. Great leader for Chrysler financially speaking and he had lots of great ideas (including the minivan which didn't exist before he introduced it), but quality was unfortunately not the best. I did notice that a few of your facts are off, but you still did a great job. Don't let the idiot trolls who have nothing better to do than harshly point out what's wrong in a video, get to you. The tube/funnel that is located near the spare tire & battery is actually to allow you to put fluids such as fuel additives to the gas tank. Since the gas intake is capless you need a special funnel to add fuel additives and they provide you with one so that you can do so. You can not merely stick anything in there but need that special funnel to open the gas tank intake!

To clarify the funnel in the trunk is for adding emergency gas from a gas can or a fuel additive such as fuel injector cleaner. A normal gas station unleaded nozzle fits without using the funnel/nozzle adaptor for a routine fill up.

Mostly well done, I have studied this model extensively and I still learned from this video. ( The spare tire angle and the battery in the trunk may have been from Mercedes. Drag racers have been putting the battery there for decades.) 2 errors. Plenty have commented on the little filler funnel, the other is the AWD system. Until part way through 2009 you are correct. Chrysler switched to the Borg Warner TOD system after that. The earlier system had a differential between the front and rear drive, the BW system engages a clutch pack to drive the front wheels, the rear wheels are directly driven from the transmission output shaft. There is also a front axle disconnect right beside the engine sump. Combining these 2 features made the AWD system on the 300, Charger and Challenger unique until Mercedes came out with the 4matic+ in 2016.

I have a 2013 Chrysler 300C. She's a real head-turner. Rides like a dream. Everyone that has seen it or rides in it can't believe how nice it is. With 120,000 on it I have only changed the tires the brakes an wiper blades. The wipers and the brakes are OME. According to a stranger that stop me to say it looks showroom New.

Bon Kant 10 out of 10. I look after my cars. I do drive them hard. Regular oil changes as per manufacturer. Changed all 16 plugs at 100k which is more than required. Because it has the HEMI I run 94 octane (Petrocan gas stations) about every 4 or 5 tanks or if I'm going on a long highway drive. That is all I have done on it. It's a dream. Drove from Windsor Ontario to Florida a number of times. It has the eco engine (goes from 8 down to 4 cylinders when cruising). Was getting 6.7 liters per 100 km. Absolutely no hesitation going from 4 cylinders to 8. Just give it the gas and your gone. Would get another one in a heartbeat.

One other thing you didn’t know about the Chrysler 300 is at some point you’re gonna have to get a new digitizer screen for the 8.4 unconnected stereo because the glue that is used for the screw is going to melt. Therefore what will happen is there will be what is called ghost touch. What that means is your stereo will switch stations and other settings without you changing them while you’re driving or if you’re parked without you touching a thing. By now, this should be a recall for this vehicle…… Facts

The comfort. My backup camera just went out but that’s no biggie just annoying when you’re used to it! I would definitely buy another 300.

    • @chrismurdock7703
      @chrismurdock7703 ปีที่แล้ว

The backup camera might be the wires at the connector... I just bought a 2012 and used my wire trace tool to find the break right at the connect in the trunk lid...probably from opening and closing over time. Not saying this will be it but after I was watching a "5 most common problems for Chrysler 300" video #5 issue was that exact same issue/fix for the camera so I assume the weak point could very likely be the wires in the trunk lid just weren't anchored down good enough or had enough wrap to prevent them from bending over time. When I lifted the covering I could instantly see where the trace tool was pointing to.. the wires had visual white stretch markers on the wire coating showing they have bent back and forth quite a bit causing the short.

Well I knew all those things, but then I've owned one for 6 years. Every time I get into a different car I notice everything that's worse about the car I just got into. Very VERY rarely I find something I like better about the other car.
Here's some other stuff about the Chrysler 300:
The tire pressure monitor system self-calibrates. You don't need to calibrate it the way you do on some other brands after you change the tires.
unlike so many other cars I drive, the armrests and all controls are well designed! I can't tell you how many cars I drive with useless armrests which aren't even close to the right spot.
If you use one of the slow windshield wiper settings, they wipe even slower when you come to a stop at a light. They wipe as soon as you start moving again and speed back up. It probably took me 3 years to realize that was happening.
If you're not in sport mode and press the paddle shifters, it will stay in the gear you select as long as you're either coasting (engine braking) or accelerating. As soon as you just drive normally, it switches itself back to automatic mode. If you put it in sport mode and activate manual shifting, it will never take control from you except to downshift when you're coming to a stop. It will hold you at redline until you shift up manually.
The car has almost perfect 50-50 weight distribution.
The car has 6 cupholders and 4 USB charging ports. My front passenger can move the seat far enough back to completely straighten their legs and someone can still fit comfortably in the seat behind. It's a long-distance champion!
There are two Bluetooth antennas. One phone can be hooked up as the phone and one can be hooked up as the music player at the same time. I also like how the dash always gives a digital speed even when it's set to a different mode like fuel economy. I notice some dodge vehicles still don't have dash displays that are as well thought out.
Well I'm sure I'm forgetting some major facts about the car, but that's all I've got off the top of my head.

In the segment you showed the trunk carpet lifting hook. That the hook hooks onto the weather stripping…This was helpfully…Thank-you
Did you know that the funnel under the trunk carpet is for the gas tank?
If you run out of gas and need to use a Jerry can (red plastic Gas container) that is what that funnel is for.
One last thing did you know that you can disable that annoying seat-belt chime? The answer is yes you can.
Step 1: Put your seat belt on.
Step 2: Press the ignition button twice to RUN (don’t start the car)
Step 3: Wait until the car boots up and the seat belt light is off.
Step 4: Unlatch the seat belt and reengage three times (you will hear a beep informing you that the seat belt chime is deactivated)
Step 5: Turn off the car and…Hooray you can now drive in a parking lot without being Annoyed :)
Remember you can reactivate seat belt chime following the same steps.

Very good, I have owned 2 300Cs, out of the 10 things I did not know only 3 I did not know. In Australia they only came in RHD, from Canada. the boot (trunk) mat hook onto the rear weather shield rubber I did not know how to use, it is a pain to change the tyre. 2nd thing, is no AWD models were supplied in Australia. 3rd thing, is there is no Chrysler (work) icon in Australian delivered models on the display.
One thing you do not know, is that I met Lee Iacocca, at a car shown in LA years ago (SEMA). He was the guy that killed Chrysler Australia in the early 1980s, when MMA (Mitsubishi Motors Australia), took over manufacturing and control of Chrysler Australia in 1981. We bought the last of the Australian Designed Valiant. I still have it. Thankyou. EJCM.

The funnel or nozel is to fit the gas tank it has a smaller neck on the gas tank then most cars and an old gas can will not fit into the tank , also their is a safety flap inside the filler neck of the tank that needs to be depressed to add fuel and this will depress it so you can add fuel from a gas can pretty sweet
