I was blown away by hard hard it is to see how much is behind a transportation system. And a major shout out to Carmen…she has an infectious laugh and her work ethic…. Just Bravo!

Carmen is an amazing person!! The people who ride those buses need to be educated on leaving such a mess!! That's ridiculous

It is impossible for me to holdback tears while watching this! It gives me hope that there are MANY good and dedicated people out there. It is important to note that it's very necessary to be polite to ALL people ALL the times and RESPECT ALL kinds of workers because we cannot all be Prime Ministers at the same time. WE ALL HAVE ROLES TO PLAY IN SOCIETY. Let's respect one another and stop being in clans and classes. I wish I met ALL who were in this documentary and HUG them. So moving and humbling.

The TTC doesn't need budget cuts. It needs proper funding and planning. TTC workers are under constant stress, to do more with less. Most passengers are fine, but there's that 10% of folks who are just toxic. I was using TTC during the time when I was still able to get around on public transit, and the drivers were good to me. They went out of their way to help. I'm not steady or strong enough now to cope with that many people too close together. I'm lucky, my roomie drives.
These people she's shadowing and learning from are great. The TTC's best asset is their people.

the true is that passengers need to be more respectful and grateful for the service they have, not one can control weather condition, traffic flow and by vandalizing they will not win anything other than have to pay for a higher rate for the same service. A good way the city can help the traffic flow for public transportation, taxis and buses will be to create a designate line for those to move through the city, instead of following the same line as the regular traffic

The employees at the TTC are verbally harassed/ bullied not only by
public but more so by their admin staff and supervisors and further more
treated with disrespect and unfairly. Which causes poor work moral and

Puting an add out to the public telling them that vandalism hurts would just wake up all the crazies out there to do it on purpose. Sort of like telling a kid not to do something and the more you tell them not to do something the more they want to do it...

33:23 Pretty sure Karen's thinking "Did she just tell me to call myself into the office."

This episode should have been called "Undercover Bus", because she was in the bus after all. :)

I feel Carmen secretly knew “Ruth” was Karen by these two comments she made…
    1) _”I think there’s other places in the organization where they’d get more out of her & she’d be happier.”_
    2) _”Maybe you become a TTC employee one day… my boss probably.”_
If she truly didn’t have a clue & just said those two things anyway than I’m quite shocked, but to me it felt like she was hinting at the fact that she knew “Ruth” was Karen.

I think the train should be stopped before seeing the platform to avoid people jumping off the track. If it is clear, then drive slowly approaching the platform. A lot of train around the world don’t do this. They add protection on the platform instead. They add the screen to block the passengers and the train. It’s a huge investment which is not quick to implement. I hope TTC can consider this

In several years time, robotics and automation will replace most of those custodian jobs. Which means a big change from service labour into technical labour.... Nonetheless, the service employees do an excellent job with keeping the TTC clean! That I respect!
The biggest problem that I find with the TTC is management and leadership. For such a big city with OVER 5 million people and multiple suburbs. You'd really think they'd expand the transit lines (streetcar, subway and bus) further out and with new subway/streetcar lines in the city itself. But instead, it takes forever to get things planned, designed and built...

Here's a thought - if you want people to stop leaving so much trash, provide receptacles for the trash! Whenever I'm on the bus and I have garbage, I have to just hold onto it because there's no place to put it. Surely they could put a bin somewhere.

The Vancouver transit system could learn a thing or two from Toronto. like the cleaning of the stations amongst other things.

They make commercial trash cans with a built-in 18" dustpan made for sweeping trash into that would help on the bus floors...
