We are no strangers to overnight travel on almost every form of transport but the overnight bus has to be one of the least desirable. Tonight we board a flixbus from the union station in Toronto and ride 10 hours overnight right into the heart of New York City. We show the journey and then explain in more detail what the trip was like. We also included the classic seat tour and toilet tour so you know what your getting into if you book onto an overnight flixbus in North America.

Hi Jordan and Emily, glad you were able to make it successfully to New York. Be careful sightseeing around New York with all your camera gear and equipment. I once took and overnight bus from the suburbs of Chicago to Winnipeg Canada. It was in early spring and we ended up driving through fog and sleet so it made the trip longer than expected. Taking a bus does save money but flying is much easier.

Can't wait until I take my NYC trip from Toronto to NYC, thankfully I won't need I94 since I am a Canadian citizen. Will be flying home from LGA to YYZ
I just did this recently since I was travelling alone with two large suitcases. Getting from any of NYC's airports to Manhattan is such a nightmare when you have lots of luggage and the bus drops you off at a convenient spot.
I can imagine! 2 big suitcases by yourself would be super tough!

@@harith8527 you take public transport! I think you'll need the subway and a tram but it's easy!
@@harith8527 Flixbus drops you off right next to Penn Station. Looks like you're going to JFK; Penn Station has a few overground trains that are just 2 stops to Jamaica station where you'll transfer to the Airtrain. You could take the subway but it's 20+ stops and you'll still have to transfer to the Airtrain.
You are actually really lucky to get an actual flixbus bus because most of the buses they use are white charter buses with horrible seats. The bus you took is also a new and rare bus! Its a rare Temsa

The seats were okay! Especially if you can get two. The toilet was also fine but it's suuuuuper hit and miss, you never know what your gonna get 😄 overall it was an easy ride though

Ooohhh thatd a tough question, I'm notsure about your work visa specifics but we didn't need to mention a return date at all on the i94 form!

I have taken Flix bus several times NYC to DC , NYC to. Boston and NYC to Philadelphia. God willing hoping to make this NYC to Toronto ride in January. Its cheaper and the fact that i can get it at Penn Station is very convenient seeing that the Long Island Railroad is in the same location and im home in a matter of minutes. I didn't know FlixBus operated in the USA, as I'm from Hong Kong, I thought it only operated in Europe
FlixBus supposedly has bought Greyhound USA.
Greyhound Canada went out of business but Canada has a lot of bus services.
MegaBus is kind of floundering in the US.

I took Megabus once from Toronto to Philadelphia. It cost $25 Canadian round trip and that’s about what it was worth. It was a very long day, never again.
Hey, can you guide me about i94 form? I haven’t received any information about filling it or not from flixbus.. so just wanted to ask do I need to apply it on official website? Or flixbus bus will do group application for all travelers travelling to USA
Hey! Flixbus sent us a link for ours bus you can just google 'i94 form' and click on the first link thats a .gov
From there it's pretty easy, you just pay the $6! Alternatively you can do it at the border too it just takes longer!

You’ll be amazed. We have comfy overnight coach buses as well as seats to sit if you want and also single seats if you don’t wanna get dodged by a stranger sitting next to you …
😄 we were in India last year and tried every type of train, but didn't try a bus! We didn't see much of India though (only some big cities) so we definitely want to get back there where we can try the busses too!

Hi there, there wasn't any assistance for luggage when we passed through unfortunately, we had to carry it through ourselves. The questions were around how much money you have, what you do for work and what your plans are In the US!

so I am planning to fly to my country via new york and I am confused about how I can go from the Greyhound or Flixbusdon't station to john kennedy airport. would be happy if I could get some assistance (PS. I dont want to take the cab as I am pretty sure it's gonna be costly :D)
😄 that's fair enough, the cab would be craaaazy expensive! Where the bus drops off is right near the subway, I believe you can catch a subway train to another station that links to a tram that will take you most of the way to JFK! Definitely worth looking at the google transport it shows it all up to date!

Hello, I would like to know what they told you at immigration because I want to go to the United States with an authorization called ESTA and I would like to know what they ask, if they take your fingerprints, do they scan your passport for that type of information.
Hi there! We didn't get our fingerprints taken but they scanned the passport and asked us general questions like how long were going to be there, what we do for work, etc. All just to determine we don't intend to stay passed the esta date!

how long did it take for u guys in immigration? what sort of documents and questions did they ask?
not long maybe 15-30minutes in the line - it was the middle of the night so only our bus. Actually speaking to the staff only took 5 minutes.
The general questions: how long will you be there? where are you going? why are you visiting? ect
Documents we needed our visas, passports, I-94 arrival form and onward travel ☺️

The same road goes to both Toronto and Montreal it’s called New York State thruway

Any advice for a refund here? Email confirmation sent an address as the departure but was incorrect & by the time of arrival at the correct departure location, bus was missed in TORONTO!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CS!!!

No idea on the refund other than contact in ever way you can (social media, email, phone!)
They actually didn’t know we were coming or filming a video - paid for the tickets in full by yourselves and decided to film the journey pretty last minute to hopefully give people some info!
As it turns out we got lucky with a good new bus!
Bus travel is dangerous because of elderly out of shape lack of sleep bus drivers.

Yeah 😄 I don't think they have the best policies for cancellations. When we were in Europe half the bus paid extra for assigned seats and then they sent the wrong bus. Nobody got what they paid for. Mayhem!

Not necessarily. My flight out of NY got canceled yesterday afternoon; the train and rental cars was sold out. My Flixbus was in considerably worse shape than the bus in this video, but it got me home when all the other options were telling me I was out of luck.
Buses are more convinient in Kenya 🇰🇪
Buses here in the United States are a lot cheaper than riding Amtrak or flying.
Former USMC. I traveled in the past it was ok. I like the assigned seats. But the BUS STATION IN TAMPA, FL IS UNDER A BRIDGE. Bus drivers that stopped there didn't give a SHI* about answering costumer's questions. That's what our money is worth and our value and our safety. I took a trip to Knoxville TN. In Atlanta our trip was canceled after being there 9 hours with bus 0105 canceled 2xs. They offered a Voucher or Reassigned your route for another time. HOW convenient as a smart A** remark. NEVER AGAIN SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE A SAFER ROUTE.
