- Due to a completely travel FAIL on my part, I had to leave South Korea IMMEDIATELY if I was to make my early morning flight. I spent the night in Incheon International Airport at a capsule hotel.

If you use Kakao taxi it's easy to get a taxi any time of the day. Even in the early mornings.
However It can not download of kakao app without 한국 인증 for foreigners...
I don't know where you got the idea butt there are whole bunch of taxi at that hour in Seoul.

As for the T-money card, the Ticket card machine says in English that 'You can get the refund at the convenient store'. You just didn't get to notice that.
I'm Filipino and I got that exact flight back to the Philippines from Cebu pacific during my last vacation in Seoul. There are airport buses that goes around seoul starting from 4am. The fare was around 17,000 krw. But there are also many taxis during this time. I got on a taxi from my hotel to the nearest airport bus station and just rode the bus since the fare for the taxi to the airport is very expensive. I made it to my 7:10am flight with a little more than half an hour to spare.
You can ask anyone on the street for directions, especially to the subway. They are very nice.

Idk where you heard it from but for me, I've never experienced not being able to get a taxi in the early morning or late at night. Taxis are always available and I feel bad to know that you had to leave at night at the very last minute.

This is Korean who loves travelling! Actually, Jeju Island has really nice and unique natural environment. If u visit next time I recommend u to visit Jeju-do !
To get a Kakao taxi Hongdae to Inchon at 4 am. i'm sure it's an absolutely no problem,besides it's favorite taxi driver's route
In Korea, you can always take a taxi easily at any time. I've seen some videos, but there's a lot of misinformation.

There are capsule hotels in Incheon Airport and also they have a place to take a shower at the airport. ...giving you the info for your next visit.
이분 전에 갔었던 필리핀에 다시 입국한 영상을 보니깐 표정부터가 활짝 핀게 확 다르네요. 그냥 이분은 한국이 관광지로서는 개인적으로 안맞았던 것 같기도 하고, 일본과 필리핀 여행 사이에 별 준비없이 잠시 머무는 곁다리 여행지로 머물다 갔다는 느낌도 듭니다.
이분 친절하고 좋은분같은데 좀 아쉽네요 한국을 더 잘아보고 왔었으면 더 좋은기억을 가지고 갔을수 있었을텐데 그냥 짧게 있다 간 느낌은 저도 들었어요
가기전 아마도 택시잡는거때문에 스트레스 좀 받은거 같아요

너무 아쉽지만 여행 코스가 좀 아쉬운 코스들이네요. 음식도 맛있는 음식이 많은데 충분히 즐기지 못한 것 같고요. 다음번엔 좀 더 여유 있는 일정으로 짜길 바래요. 그리고 낮시간에 주로 간 코스들이 밤에 술집으로 활기있는 거리들이고 낮시간에 가는 음식점들이 있는 곳들을 찾아가지 않아서 좀 아쉽네요. 다음번에 더 즐거운 여행 보내길! 테마를 정해서 오면 여행하기 좋을 거에요.

Just starting to watch ur videos and really appreciate your view of things in beautiful cities you visit! it brings me back to those places and I absolutely love it :) I have few recommendations for you if I may, 1) wonder if u can let ur viewers know in advance of ur next trip and get recommendations of places and food for u. I say this bc There were a lot of things i wish u had tried in korea and so bummed u didnt. 2) i find some of ur clips were a bit shaky esp when you are walking having the camera not towards you. Would really appreciate it if you can take some of these into consideration! Happy travels!

외국인들 진짜 한국 여행 이정도로 재미 없게 여행한다고..?? 싶었는데 다행히 이게 일반적인게 아니었구나ㅜㅜㅜㅜ 더 재미있는 경험들 많이 할 수 있는데 아쉽다...
사용하는 앱도 구글맵 많이 보시는 것 같고, 사전조사를 안하고 한국만의 특성이 많은데 즉흥적인게 많았던거 같네요. 은근히 한국이 여행하기엔 갈라파고스적인 시스템이 많은지라... 이번에 해외 7개국 연수생들 한달간 부산에서 교육하는 일 했었는데, 가이드도 했는데, 한국이 타국에 비해 교통이 편리한 건 많지만, 해외에 통용되는 보편적인 앱들이 안되는게 많아 정말 불편한게 많다는 걸 너무 실감했어요.

My gosh, I was actually nervous for you even though I knew the end would be positive. Lol
One of the closest hotels to the airport, the Ibis Styles Ambassador Incheon T2 is super nice, reasonably priced, has an amazing breakfast buffet, and a their own shuttle as well as being on the parking shuttle route. My wife and I love staying there the night we arrive and the night before we leave Seoul.
Zane, did you get to go to the beach in Busan? You didn't have a follow up video. There are a couple of beaches but it would have been disappointing if didn't go to Haeundae Beach since if you had to pick one place to go in Busan out of all places, that would be the place. It literally is gangnam of Busan with the obvious bonus of a great beach.

Taxi/Cab is very easy to catch in Korea. Just make the reservation and they will come and meet you on time.
OMG he really didnt know the Korean transportation system. You can get taxi 24 hrs anywhere. Search call taxi or kakao taxi. So convenient and cheap man
근데 사실 공항가는 콜택시가격도 그렇고 카카오택시앱도 인증이 되어야 부를수 있는데 외국인으로서는 좀 알아보기가 쉽지 않을수도 있어요

Not true. Costs around 50,000won which is around 35~40usd if taking taxi from Hongdae area.

제가 듣기론 부산도 몇일더 있을거고 부산 끝나면 다시 서울 가서도 몇일 있을거랬어요..그런데도 이렇게 섣불리 떠난건 한국이 생각만큼 아니였던거죠~ 부산 도착해서만도 텍사스 거리에 기대하는 눈치였는데 별로 였고 서울도 첫날빼곤 나머지날들 분위기 쳐졌었구요 그래서 결정을 한거 같아요
일본처럼 멋진 텍사스용품을 파는 고급상점가가 아니라 자영업자들이 운영하는 작은 음식점이 있는정도니까 실망할법도 하죠

Looks like the airport in Seoul is an entertaining mega maze to stroll around ...
I will say that both the subway/metro and airport limo bus would have been perfectly viable options. I mean you took the metro to Chungjeongro which is significantly further from the airport in 1hr when you arrived so expect going the other way to be about the same or less(I looked it up and the app says it takes 50mins RN). Taxis are kinda dependent on where you are but anywhere in downtown Seoul should be good, especially in a neighborhood like Hongdae. There was a taxi shortage during Covid just cause the lockdown made business pretty bad so that may be where those online rumors are coming from but again since you were using Kakao Maps, you could have booked a taxi using the app. Anyway hope this info helps anyone that is thinking about coming to Korea.
일찍 떠나는 이유가 내 생각이 맞다면, 처음부터 불황의 아이콘 명동을 갔을때부터.. 북촌도 아니고 시에서 인위적으로 조성한 남산한옥마을 갔을때부터 매우 지루해보이고 불안하긴 했음.

공항에서 사는 SIM 카드는 본인인증이 안되요. 본인인증이 안되면 인터넷 쇼핑, 딜리버리도 불가능함. 로컬 SK Telecom 이나 LG 가서 SIM 카드 사야 본인인증 가능함. 이걸 어떻게 아냐구요? 저도 알고 싶지 않았어요.

This was what I've done last time, booked the Incheon Airport hotel, yes they even have hotel there as well and stayed over night and spent many hours at the airport and did all the duty free shopping there.

If you go to the Philippines, you can go directly from Busan without having to return to Seoul.

Had the same situation sort of in Taiwan but managed to find a taxi to the airport for my early flight to Japan. But I’m still trying to get my head around South Korea 🇰🇷 not having taxis 24/7 ? Doesn’t add up to me since South Korea looks like a 24/7 country I wouldn’t believe everything on reddit either.
They have beds that you can rent and two hotels in the airport
You can also use Kakao Taxi!!!They'll come anytime anywhere.!! 😘😘😘
If you install uber app, it is automatically changes to UT app in Korea(Which is made by T Map mobility that is the company made T Map application, the best nagivation app in Korea). So, it is easy to grab a taxi at late night or early morning.
And I'm sorry that you didn't choose a better option. Especially, it was very unfortunate when you ate too expensive food for the quality. And when you skipped some places to see. I hope you can have a better experience next time.
One more thing, if you learn Korean alphabet(hangul) just a day, you can read almost everything because that is what Korean character is made for. And it will gives you more choice to travel proprely. And don't be afraid of talking to Korean. Korean ppl will help you very kindly although we cannot speak English like native speakers.

I think it's a bit tight on time for the 6002 bus departing from Hongdae. Going there first and waiting seems like a good choice.

A little while ago, I had to cancel a night in Hokkaido. I previously underestimated the time and distance to Tokyo. Then I realized I had to change my last night in Japan to Tokyo. My trip to Japan is not until January, but I'm glad I caught it early and fixed it. Thank God for Luggage forwarding and Capsule hotels. Next year, I'm going to Korea.

Thanks for recommending that hotel. We are heading to incheon next may and just having a one night to adjust to the time change might be very helpful. We are also going to Busan by KTX after spending time in Seoul.
