So true phila airport don't even have anything open after 10-11pm i had a 1am flight that turn into leaven after 230am got there at 1130 to be there n get thu check thu had wait over 2hrs was so hungry n not even vendings to get a drink or anything to even get water sucks they should have Lil places still open for ppl who r flying after 11pm to still be able to eat or drink incase flights r delayed
I just slept on big cushions seats in that airport.. I spent my longest layover there 17 hours in Istanbul turkey. Big airport but think I got to see most of it... Hate there limited free wifi.. Then flew over black sea and two days later Russia invaded Ukraine.. *was curious about all ships in black sea, usually not that many but understand now..
I had an 18 hour layover in Atlanta GA after missing a connecting flight due to weather. Wonderful people working there. All food places were closed or closing for the night. A food manager made me a to-go bag for later and didn't charge me. I had to sleep laying over several seats. Very nice security people brought me a small pillow and blanket, and told me they would watch over me while i was sleeping.
@AntiqueJeans, good heavens, 18 hours! I'm glad you had a pleasant experience! And I thought a 4-hour layover there was nearly unbearable! It was a lot of sitting, getting up and sitting and getting up. Then just minutes before our flight was to board I noticed the monitors "We're headed for TX!!" Our gate was changed so it was down the escalators, on the tram and up the escalator and down to the other end of the airport! Those trams are no joke btw, anyone who hasn't been on one, do your best to find something to hold onto amidst the crowd or you'll go tumbling when it stops!😄The crowds of people are sometimes overwhelming in ATL!
This happened at Hartsfield? I'm shocked. Been there a few times. Last time an outside check in agent was so rude. I never had to stay over night though
I got trapped in Dallas once. Worst experience of my life at that airport but there was one elderly security guard who gave me directions to find a bench without a divider, one that I could actually lie down on. He also told me where to find the 24-hour 7-11 in the airport to get food as everything else was closed. He was so kind after I’d dealt with incredibly rude customer service desk, baggage claim, and TSA. I was so grateful for him.
DFW is a horrible airport. We had a layover once and we moved seats around so we could lie on the floor next to the wall. We spread out travel blankets on the floor and the airport gave us blankets to use. It wasn’t until hours later that they started bringing out cots.
This was highly enjoyable to watch. I respect anyone who can walk through a crowded public place and talk confidently to the camera, makes it interesting for us to watch. Your editing is snappy, and I really felt like I was there experiencing this. I never could’ve imagined Istanbul airport to be so amazing. Thanks for all the effort in putting this together.
I have stayed in the capsule hotel at Narita Airport in Japan. Much more full service and all inclusive. It was about $30 USD and well worth it. When confronted with a long layover, some sleep and a shower is worth their weight in gold (or in your case Baklava). Thank you for this!
Narita airport is probably my favorite airport in the world so far. I also did the capsule and had a lot of fun at the gotchapon station. 😆. Fun airport.
I LOVE this. Most airports seem to do everything to discourage sleeping. My local international airport has the MOST uncomfortable seats and they have arms so you can’t lay across them. HORRIBLE
At first thought these sleep pods might seem a little odd, but they actually are a great idea. Especially for International travel if you have a long layover it avoids the headache and cost of leaving the airport and hauling your luggage, dealing with taxi drivers, possibly needing currency exchange, security concerns to and from a hotel, and the cost of a night at a hotel. It's an excellent solution for those situations.
Considering all of the issues and cancelations that the airports have had recently, you'd think this would be a possible opportunity for a way to help? If the company or airline cancels your flight, or the airport is somewhat responsible for it, if they could offer the stranded people a place to rest, sleep, and not be crammed like sardines in a can. But considering the GREED factor the airlines run with, I doubt that they'll do anything to help the families, or regular people. 🤔 Only the elite, the CEO's, the one's who could afford renting a warehouse for the night will get treated and put up areas away from the "Common folks".
I stayed in Istanbul for a 20-hour layover. I slept in one of those pods exactly. I didn’t catch the showers at all and I toured that huge airport like 3x. Definitely missed that but good to know they have that there. I think all international airports should be like this.
@@ssherrierable nope not all . If it’s not an international airport then you have a layover to connect to any international airport. To make it to your destination normally or it might be one of those airports that fly tiny planes. The smaller planes typically seat 5 to 20 people .
@@ssherrierable As a frequent flier, No not all airports are international airports. For example, NYC has two major airports. LaGuardia isn’t international because it doesn’t have immigration facilities, whereas JFK is international with immigration facilities. Also, I was once on a plane where it was running low on gas and they needed to refuel. They initially was going to fly into one nearby airport but they soon realized that it wasn’t international so they had to fly way out of the way to an international airport.
I really enjoyed travelling when I was younger. Back then, I found airplanes and airports both equally exciting, I loved, staying at different hotels and seeing the sights in different cities. Now Im older...not old, but at an age where I find traveling to be more stressful than I can handle. However, I still haven't lost my interest in seeing different interesting places around the world, but now instead of buying a plane ticket somewhere, I relax in the comfort of my own bedroom and watch videos like this, where I can live vicariously through the travel adventures of others.
Oh I loved travel when I was little all my by myself in a foreign country! But Taiwan airport was the literal worst stayed there for 24+ hours and nothing was open all night. Worse airport I ever been to and by myself at 11 years old, my dad had been there before too and warned me it would be hell lol
Came through Istanbul going to/from Cape Town with an evening layover and a full day layover and really enjoyed it. Didn’t know or see the sleep pods but we left the airport and saw the mosques, explored the city, and even had a traditional Turkish breakfast at a nice place on the rooftop halfway between the Hagia Sofia and the sea. Would definitely visit Turkey again
Just went through this airport back in April. Got to use a shower for about US$19 for about an hour. Best thing when flying over 17 hours and getting a 7 hour layout in the middle of the morning. Made all the difference in my experience of international travel and just felt rejuvenated flying from there to Chicago
@@elenaholtz247 entrance to the Yotel Airside hotel, ask for shower. Also there you can find what seems like the only water fountain in the whole airport - fill up your bottle if you don't want to pay $5 for a small plastic bottle of water
I'm impressed with how you handled the airport staff when you were misled about the pod availability.You maintained calm yet you communicated your discontent. That is an excellent demonstration of how to handle a mishap/conflict. The pods reminded me of Invasion of the Body Snatchers! 😮
Oh, my God. This is amazing. I have no idea how many times I've curled up on the floor in a corner on an airport and tried to sleep. And the fact that if you have an overnight layover the airport closes and you can't even get food. Whenever I travel internationally I keep getting stuck in Stansted, even though I wasn't even supposed to have a layover in England. It's happened four separate times 😅
Beautiful airport& the pods in general are great idea but wouldn’t be for me…too small of an area for me, it would feel like I couldn’t breath!!! Maybe a fan inside them would help!!??
This Istanbul Airport is amazing! I wish every airport had stuff open all night and had those sleep pods. Even just having the sleep pods would make every airport much nicer. I've been to some of the "nicest" and biggest airports in the world, and most of them don't have good places for people to sleep during long layovers.
Between these & the “capsule hotels” in Japan it’s starting to look more & more what people had an idea of what the future would look like 20 years ago. The only thing missing is some little service robots going through the aisles

Major Airlines often have "clubs" for their guests. It varies. Could be a large lounge with chairs, food, coffee. They may have small rooms with a bed to use for a price and showers.So many travelers don't know about these services. They don't advertise themselves.
I was once stuck in Istanbul airport for 2 days. Had considered renting the airport hotel by the hour but the prices were stupid. Glad to see Istanbul got smart and added this low-cost option.
I wish US airports were like this. I had a 20+ hour layover at JFK due to constant delays and it was one of the worst times of my life (I understand that there are people living a lot worse and I’m grateful that I can travel). I slept on cold hard floors and found nowhere decent to eat or freshen up
The worst layover I’ve experienced was an 11 hour delay at LaGuardia due to weather. My flight landed at 8pm and the connecting flight was delayed until the next morning. There was nowhere to sleep except for the floor. Add in a bunch of screaming kids and it made for an interesting time.
I used to do credit card authorizations to 30 different countries in ten languages every night. The Norwegians, Germans and Turks were far and away the nicest people. And the Turks are hilarious! They have a great sense of humor. I think the problem with the lady accidentally setting your expectations for an exact time was that she didn't understand you very well and was probably not capable of explaining the impreciseness of their predictions. At least to me, from what I could tell in the video, they were trying to provide good service. All good wishes.

If it's not in your local airport, you might be able to start it there. There are new hotels businesses all the time. Why not start your own airport pod business?
They’ve been around for many years mostly in Asia. I’m surprised the large airports in the US don’t have them. But then some large airports in the US have actual hotels inside the airport.

I have never traveled international but have not seen anything like this in U.S. International Airports. Istanbul Int'l looked spacious, clean, and with several amenities!
I've been several times in Istanbul airport, the sleeping pods must be a quite recent addition...I didn't know one could even shower , I could have used the service.... very informative video!
I know! I flew into Istanbul dozens of time from 2010-2015 and I never saw half of this stuff! Must be recent additions! I would have killed for a sleep pod during my layovers!
@@bpaboyceyou were 3 years too early because this new airport opened in October 2018. The old airport is only for domestic flights so I am sure will get in touch with the new airport on your next visit by plane.
That’s nice to see. I remember flying from Frankfurt to Houston about 10 years ago. My flight had a layover of around 14 hours I believe. I was told that as long as your layover is over 12 hours, the airline will put you up in a hotel free of charge. Of course when I get there, Turkish airlines acted as if they had no idea about this policy. As I wasn’t comfortable venturing outside the airport after midnight, I was forced to sleep on the floor with my backpack as my pillow. Would have been nice to have this option back then.
I slept in that same airport coming back to Houston. They corralled up all the people in the airport and forced them into one section. We found a place to lay down on the floor and that was that. Super uncomfortable but it was what it was.
I'm so glad they now have this! I used to transit through there a lot and sleep on the floor because no time to go to an off-site hotel and onsite hotel was way expensive.
Little known fact, but always check with the airlines to confirm this, when I checked last year, if you are flying on Turkish Airlines, and your delay is 12 hours or more, they will put you up in a room.
Istanbuls' new airport is super nice. I've slept in those pods and flown through 7 times. It's huge, expensive, and forced me to research Turkish airlines layover policy(9 hour or more free hotel room HACK).
Before covid Turkish airlines did a free city tour if you had a layover for 6 or more hours. If they haven't yet I hope they start doing that again soon. Thanks for the video, I heard that is a really nice, huge airport.
I've flown out of most of the big, international airports in the US & I have never seen any of them look this clean, have such an amazing selection of foods, and OMG having showers and sleeping pods, nope. How is it Istanbul has two airports like this? I mean wow!!! This just doesn't make any sense, this just puts all US airports to shame.
You know what would drive me absolutely bonkers insane? If I were someone trying to get some much needed sleep only to be woken up by someone talking to a camera.
There is an awesome capsule hotel in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, I've used it a few times it's so good if you have a long wait between connecting flights, go dump your bags and have a shower, have a meal at one of the many restaurants, then climb into your comfy little capsule and have the best sleep, get a wakeup call for your flight have a shower and head off to your gate...

I have lived on and off in Turkey for over 10 years (currently on!) and your experience with the availability of sleep pods is so typical. If you are a foreigner, they never want to tell you something which can be perceived as negative or 'bad news'. So they won't say if you want to come back at 3 there may be a pod available, they say come back at 3 and there will be a pod available. It drives me nuts because if they were just honest from the beginning it would save so much hassle
@@TheKingParacord I listened at 08:10 again. The male supervisor is checking out Gareth's story with the woman in charge of the sleeping pods. She confirms his story -'evet oldu' yes, it happened but adds the person was supposed to come out at 3 but didn't. Ok I don't doubt this but Gareth says he double checked the availability of pods at 3am and was told yes pods would definitely be available then. This was his big mistake. As anyone with experience of the Islamic world knows, nothing in the future is definite because everything is inshallah. This so frustrates me because it basically means - if it happens great but if it doesn't , don't blame me Allah didn't want it to happen. The perfect get out! Maybe sleeping pod lady said this and Gareth didn't pick up on it?

I had the cheesy pastry layers on my flight on Turkish air. It was so delicious! I was at the Istanbul airport last month on my way to Jordan 🇯🇴 I got to tour the private lounge and I saw the Buffett they offered. I ended up purchasing some incredible pizza on my layover. It was the most fancy airport I have ever been too. Thank you for making this incredible video. Since I was curious about the sleep pods. I also love baklava 😊
I travelled from London to Sydney, stopped in UAE for a few hours in between. I flew business with Emirates. Their lounge is awesome. Everything is free, and you’re treated like a saint lol. The business seat was wonderful. Because I’m afraid of turbulence, the massage features on the bed in my little pod was great. 👍🏽

Spent a week on one of the islands and a couple of weeks on the mainland all during the off-season of 2008. I took my 14 year old son on a Euro Rail trip one semester before homeschooling ended and he started High School. Hope you loved the people and the country as much as I did. 🇭🇷
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel many times when I flew into Istanbul on my way to Iraqi Kurdistan. Fantastic breakfast, and the view from the rooftop terrace is unbelievable-thousands of years of history can be seen in a single glance! Great hotel!

The entrance fee for IGA lounge is 75 dollars ( you can pay only by credit card, no cash). However you get to stay there until your boarding time. You can also get an IGA pass as a gift from someone ( who will pay for your pass). You will need to give the gift coupon and your benefactors phone number to the staff... I honestly recommend it! My daughter played in the kids area while I could relax and eat....
The Minute Suites in some US airports are pretty comfy. A flat screen tv, desk, bed, blanket, Netflix and/or Apple TV, and pillow, etc. It makes all the difference! The capsules are cool too, but too small for me. Like you said, it's better than sleeping in a chair. 🤷♀️
He is so entertaining and informative. This airport is the best! I ended up buying a bunch of last-minute foodstuff souvenirs on the way home at the central open market where he almost bought the fluffy white coat, LOL -they have a huge selection! Love this guy.

We spent a few hours in a break room in the airport terminal. Had a Tv, couch/bed. It was hard to sleep without a blanket and the kicker was all the announcements were at full volume in the rooms.
I love the idea of perfume and moisturizer and the avoiding the lovely baclava, but the sleeping pod is spooky. It is a beautiful airport and thanks for sharing.
Yes I loathe people who put on strong perfume / cologne. I have sensory problems and strong smells give me the most terrible headaches that last for hours. If I try to take ibuprofen, it doesn’t work, because the dreaded fragrance is still there… it lingers in the air even after the person is gone. People think they are doing a service to those around them, but I’d honestly rather smell their sweat than their perfume

Totally worth it! Such an amazing adventure for me. I am likely never going to be able to travel abroad. This was a total 'fix' for my curiosity. So very different from USA. Just wow!

Egg peeling advice: crack the flatty tip of the egg. That’s where the air pocket is. It makes it easier to peel off the thin membrane from the egg white. The borek you ate is “su boregi”. (Water Borek) I got really pissed because they offer free drinking water at the international terminal but not at the domestic terminal.
this is such a great Airport. I had a 8 hour layover in Dublin (coming from Portugal, going to Germany) once from 1am to 9am. it was the absolute worst. Flying to Portugal I saw some nice nooks in the Dublin airport where you could have slept. But they were behind the security. And because the Airport closes at night you had to stay in the hall in front of security. They turned out almost all the lights. There was one McDonalds open around the clock but everything elese was closed. Even the couches from the other cafes in the hall were "locked off" so you couldnt sleep on them. A lot of people slept on the floor, cheap chairs or on their bagage. Becuase my phone was low on battery I sat next to a outlet trying to charge it....but it didnt work. After a lot of tries I found a outlet on the lower level near security and the toilets. So I just sat on the floor, charged my phone and tried to not fall asleep completely since it was already 6am. Otherwise behind security it is a nice Airport
Those pods are a great idea! I think they are cool. I lived off and on in the sleeper of a semi truck for 12+ years, a sailboat, a fiberglass slide in converted truck camper and a 6'x12' converted cargo trailer. I love minimal living and small functional spaces. I have a townhome in the Philippines, small by US standards, but very comfortable with 2ba 4bedrooms. My last US home was over 2800sq ft and it was eating my lunch budgetwise.
You're lucky. Most lounges won't have that much food nor will they stay open pass midnight especially the ones in the US. I've used a priority pass lounge in vegas (thankfully no longer there) that was smaller than my apartment.

19:58 The harder it is to peel, the fresher the egg. Only a small percentage has to do with cooling the egg after boiling. The links between the proteins deteriorate over time. So the easier it gets to peel, the older the egg.
Not true. Short (ca.5-10 sec.) cooling under (in) cold water makes eggs much easier to peel regardless of their freshness. Freshness is easily checked upon putting those eggs into water : fresh eggs sink,old eggs swim.

At first thought these sleep pods might seem a little odd, but they actually are a great idea. Especially for International travel if you have a long layover it avoids the headache and cost of leaving the airport and hauling your luggage, dealing with taxi drivers, possibly needing currency exchange, security concerns to and from a hotel, and the cost of a night at a hotel. It's an excellent solution for those situations.
Considering all of the issues and cancelations that the airports have had recently, you'd think this would be a possible opportunity for a way to help? If the company or airline cancels your flight, or the airport is somewhat responsible for it, if they could offer the stranded people a place to rest, sleep, and not be crammed like sardines in a can. But considering the GREED factor the airlines run with, I doubt that they'll do anything to help the families, or regular people. 🤔 Only the elite, the CEO's, the one's who could afford renting a warehouse for the night will get treated and put up areas away from the "Common folks".
I stayed in Istanbul for a 20-hour layover. I slept in one of those pods exactly. I didn’t catch the showers at all and I toured that huge airport like 3x. Definitely missed that but good to know they have that there. I think all international airports should be like this.

@@ssherrierable nope not all . If it’s not an international airport then you have a layover to connect to any international airport. To make it to your destination normally or it might be one of those airports that fly tiny planes. The smaller planes typically seat 5 to 20 people .

@@ssherrierable As a frequent flier, No not all airports are international airports. For example, NYC has two major airports. LaGuardia isn’t international because it doesn’t have immigration facilities, whereas JFK is international with immigration facilities. Also, I was once on a plane where it was running low on gas and they needed to refuel. They initially was going to fly into one nearby airport but they soon realized that it wasn’t international so they had to fly way out of the way to an international airport.
I really enjoyed travelling when I was younger. Back then, I found airplanes and airports both equally exciting, I loved, staying at different hotels and seeing the sights in different cities. Now Im older...not old, but at an age where I find traveling to be more stressful than I can handle. However, I still haven't lost my interest in seeing different interesting places around the world, but now instead of buying a plane ticket somewhere, I relax in the comfort of my own bedroom and watch videos like this, where I can live vicariously through the travel adventures of others.

Oh I loved travel when I was little all my by myself in a foreign country! But Taiwan airport was the literal worst stayed there for 24+ hours and nothing was open all night. Worse airport I ever been to and by myself at 11 years old, my dad had been there before too and warned me it would be hell lol

Came through Istanbul going to/from Cape Town with an evening layover and a full day layover and really enjoyed it. Didn’t know or see the sleep pods but we left the airport and saw the mosques, explored the city, and even had a traditional Turkish breakfast at a nice place on the rooftop halfway between the Hagia Sofia and the sea. Would definitely visit Turkey again
Just went through this airport back in April. Got to use a shower for about US$19 for about an hour. Best thing when flying over 17 hours and getting a 7 hour layout in the middle of the morning. Made all the difference in my experience of international travel and just felt rejuvenated flying from there to Chicago

@@elenaholtz247 entrance to the Yotel Airside hotel, ask for shower. Also there you can find what seems like the only water fountain in the whole airport - fill up your bottle if you don't want to pay $5 for a small plastic bottle of water
Istanbul is 24/7 quite literal. It was so nice eating so much food and such a good quality.

Oh, my God. This is amazing. I have no idea how many times I've curled up on the floor in a corner on an airport and tried to sleep. And the fact that if you have an overnight layover the airport closes and you can't even get food.
Whenever I travel internationally I keep getting stuck in Stansted, even though I wasn't even supposed to have a layover in England. It's happened four separate times 😅

This Istanbul Airport is amazing! I wish every airport had stuff open all night and had those sleep pods. Even just having the sleep pods would make every airport much nicer. I've been to some of the "nicest" and biggest airports in the world, and most of them don't have good places for people to sleep during long layovers.
Between these & the “capsule hotels” in Japan it’s starting to look more & more what people had an idea of what the future would look like 20 years ago. The only thing missing is some little service robots going through the aisles

Philly, Atlanta and Dallas airports are getting or already have Minute Suites sleep pods with a bed, TV, desk, cable/wifi.
I've spent 20 hours in that Airport. One of the nicest airports I've ever been in.
So classy. Incredible. Quiet. Not crowded. Opulent. Just so different from the airports I've experienced. Better than our malls and hotels here.

Major Airlines often have "clubs" for their guests. It varies. Could be a large lounge with chairs, food, coffee. They may have small rooms with a bed to use for a price and showers.So many travelers don't know about these services. They don't advertise themselves.

I was once stuck in Istanbul airport for 2 days. Had considered renting the airport hotel by the hour but the prices were stupid. Glad to see Istanbul got smart and added this low-cost option.
I wish US airports were like this. I had a 20+ hour layover at JFK due to constant delays and it was one of the worst times of my life (I understand that there are people living a lot worse and I’m grateful that I can travel). I slept on cold hard floors and found nowhere decent to eat or freshen up

The worst layover I’ve experienced was an 11 hour delay at LaGuardia due to weather. My flight landed at 8pm and the connecting flight was delayed until the next morning. There was nowhere to sleep except for the floor. Add in a bunch of screaming kids and it made for an interesting time.
I used to do credit card authorizations to 30 different countries in ten languages every night. The Norwegians, Germans and Turks were far and away the nicest people. And the Turks are hilarious! They have a great sense of humor. I think the problem with the lady accidentally setting your expectations for an exact time was that she didn't understand you very well and was probably not capable of explaining the impreciseness of their predictions. At least to me, from what I could tell in the video, they were trying to provide good service. All good wishes.

Had 20 hour layover in Istanbul Airport last January. Got a hotel room, shopped, ate, checked out the art exhibit by the LV store. Great airport.
This is one of the very few airports on earth that I would say I could do a full 20 hours in.

I have never traveled international but have not seen anything like this in U.S. International Airports. Istanbul Int'l looked spacious, clean, and with several amenities!

That’s nice to see. I remember flying from Frankfurt to Houston about 10 years ago. My flight had a layover of around 14 hours I believe. I was told that as long as your layover is over 12 hours, the airline will put you up in a hotel free of charge. Of course when I get there, Turkish airlines acted as if they had no idea about this policy. As I wasn’t comfortable venturing outside the airport after midnight, I was forced to sleep on the floor with my backpack as my pillow. Would have been nice to have this option back then.

I slept in that same airport coming back to Houston. They corralled up all the people in the airport and forced them into one section. We found a place to lay down on the floor and that was that. Super uncomfortable but it was what it was.
I stayed in a similar “hotel” at Changi Airport in Singapore as well. One of the only airports I wasn’t in a hurry to leave

I'm so glad they now have this! I used to transit through there a lot and sleep on the floor because no time to go to an off-site hotel and onsite hotel was way expensive.
Little known fact, but always check with the airlines to confirm this, when I checked last year, if you are flying on Turkish Airlines, and your delay is 12 hours or more, they will put you up in a room.

Istanbuls' new airport is super nice. I've slept in those pods and flown through 7 times. It's huge, expensive, and forced me to research Turkish airlines layover policy(9 hour or more free hotel room HACK).

I've flown out of most of the big, international airports in the US & I have never seen any of them look this clean, have such an amazing selection of foods, and OMG having showers and sleeping pods, nope. There is an awesome capsule hotel in Kuala Lumpur International Airport, I've used it a few times it's so good if you have a long wait between connecting flights, go dump your bags and have a shower, have a meal at one of the many restaurants, then climb into your comfy little capsule and have the best sleep, get a wakeup call for your flight have a shower and head off to your gate...

I have lived on and off in Turkey for over 10 years (currently on!) and your experience with the availability of sleep pods is so typical. If you are a foreigner, they never want to tell you something which can be perceived as negative or 'bad news'. So they won't say if you want to come back at 3 there may be a pod available, they say come back at 3 and there will be a pod available. It drives me nuts because if they were just honest from the beginning it would save so much hassle

@@TheKingParacord I listened at 08:10 again. The male supervisor is checking out Gareth's story with the woman in charge of the sleeping pods. She confirms his story -'evet oldu' yes, it happened but adds the person was supposed to come out at 3 but didn't.
Ok I don't doubt this but Gareth says he double checked the availability of pods at 3am and was told yes pods would definitely be available then. This was his big mistake. As anyone with experience of the Islamic world knows, nothing in the future is definite because everything is inshallah. This so frustrates me because it basically means - if it happens great but if it doesn't , don't blame me Allah didn't want it to happen. The perfect get out! Maybe sleeping pod lady said this and Gareth didn't pick up on it?

I had the cheesy pastry layers on my flight on Turkish air. It was so delicious! I was at the Istanbul airport last month on my way to Jordan 🇯🇴 I got to tour the private lounge and I saw the Buffett they offered. I ended up purchasing some incredible pizza on my layover. It was the most fancy airport I have ever been too. Thank you for making this incredible video. Since I was curious about the sleep pods. I also love baklava 😊
I travelled from London to Sydney, stopped in UAE for a few hours in between. I flew business with Emirates. Their lounge is awesome. Everything is free, and you’re treated like a saint lol. The business seat was wonderful. Because I’m afraid of turbulence, the massage features on the bed in my little pod was great. 👍🏽

I just found your channel. Loved sharing your adventure. Croatia is my second favorite country in the World. Spent a week on one of the islands and a couple of weeks on the mainland all during the off-season of 2008. I took my 14 year old son on a Euro Rail trip one semester before homeschooling ended and he started High School. Hope you loved the people and the country as much as I did. 🇭🇷
I loved Istanbul. The people were great. And the Ambassador Hotel with the rooftop terrace wonderful.
I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel many times when I flew into Istanbul on my way to Iraqi Kurdistan. Fantastic breakfast, and the view from the rooftop terrace is unbelievable-thousands of years of history can be seen in a single glance! Great hotel!

The entrance fee for IGA lounge is 75 dollars ( you can pay only by credit card, no cash). However you get to stay there until your boarding time. You can also get an IGA pass as a gift from someone ( who will pay for your pass). You will need to give the gift coupon and your benefactors phone number to the staff...
I honestly recommend it! My daughter played in the kids area while I could relax and eat....
The Minute Suites in some US airports are pretty comfy. A flat screen tv, desk, bed, blanket, Netflix and/or Apple TV, and pillow, etc. It makes all the difference! The capsules are cool too, but too small for me. Like you said, it's better than sleeping in a chair. 🤷♀️

We spent a few hours in a break room in the airport terminal. Had a Tv, couch/bed. It was hard to sleep without a blanket and the kicker was all the announcements were at full volume in the rooms.
I love the idea of perfume and moisturizer and the avoiding the lovely baclava, but the sleeping pod is spooky. It is a beautiful airport and thanks for sharing.

I don't think I'd do perfume/cologne. Some people have allergies to that stuff and I wouldn't want someone to be stuck next to me if they did.
Yes I loathe people who put on strong perfume / cologne. I have sensory problems and strong smells give me the most terrible headaches that last for hours. If I try to take ibuprofen, it doesn’t work, because the dreaded fragrance is still there… it lingers in the air even after the person is gone. People think they are doing a service to those around them, but I’d honestly rather smell their sweat than their perfume

this is such a great Airport. I had a 8 hour layover in Dublin (coming from Portugal, going to Germany) once from 1am to 9am. it was the absolute worst. Flying to Portugal I saw some nice nooks in the Dublin airport where you could have slept. But they were behind the security. And because the Airport closes at night you had to stay in the hall in front of security. They turned out almost all the lights. There was one McDonalds open around the clock but everything elese was closed. Even the couches from the other cafes in the hall were "locked off" so you couldnt sleep on them. A lot of people slept on the floor, cheap chairs or on their bagage. Becuase my phone was low on battery I sat next to a outlet trying to charge it....but it didnt work. After a lot of tries I found a outlet on the lower level near security and the toilets. So I just sat on the floor, charged my phone and tried to not fall asleep completely since it was already 6am. Otherwise behind security it is a nice Airport

Those pods are a great idea! I think they are cool. I lived off and on in the sleeper of a semi truck for 12+ years, a sailboat, a fiberglass slide in converted truck camper and a 6'x12' converted cargo trailer. I love minimal living and small functional spaces. I have a townhome in the Philippines, small by US standards, but very comfortable with 2ba 4bedrooms. My last US home was over 2800sq ft and it was eating my lunch budgetwise.

You're lucky. Most lounges won't have that much food nor will they stay open pass midnight especially the ones in the US. I've used a priority pass lounge in vegas (thankfully no longer there) that was smaller than my apartment.

The harder it is to peel, the fresher the egg. Only a small percentage has to do with cooling the egg after boiling.

Not true. Short (ca.5-10 sec.) cooling under (in) cold water makes eggs much easier to peel regardless of their freshness. Freshness is easily checked upon putting those eggs into water : fresh eggs sink,old eggs swim.
Put some vinegar in the water it helps w peeling
I use two week old eggs, start them at room temp. Boil, put in ice water when done and they peel like a dream.
