I'm personally addicted to the diminished scale. So deceptively simple, but so bizarre and unresolved sounding. You have done great work utilising the scales you chose in the intro song! Very cool!
No joke, I didnt know really anything about music theroy at all until I watched your Dissection where dead angels lie lesson and literally I am learning chords so fast! I never knew reading scales and how to read finger placement for chords I loved playing guitar at first and now that you showed me some music theory I am totally addicted to playing music.
what do you think about black metal drum beats you need to know for drum programing video? you have done a couple of great vids on kvlt drums and the production side , but I am trying to beef up my drum parts knowledge and programing skills focused on black metal.
Hi Simon, I had asked myself if you have a tutorial to play Morgenrøde by Burzum, since I really like this song but I don't know what techniques are used to play it, especially for the beginning riff ... Or if you could do a little tutorial since you are uploading videos about black metal techniques
Phyrgian is not a scale. Its a mode. Phyrgian "scale", specifically the one you showed, is a mode of major, the third one down from the root mode. Its the same collection of notes in the same order, it just starts on another note. This is important to understand and to not confuse people, scales =/= modes, scales contain modes. All modes of a scale are the same thing, they just start on a different note but that doesnt actually matter until you make that note your tonal center tbus giving its "flavor"
I really wanted to watch this, but the add before the video was a woman playing metal guitar that said she was better than Paganini and it gave me AIDS. I will try again in a bit 😂
You still can play black metal with the major scale..if you're kvlt enough!
Really? I would like to hear some exemples. I tend not to care much about the scales and I don’t make some sort of influenced by BM music.
@@resumacast the dude was joking. however I think major chords are somewhat common in dsbm.
@@dawidbylka2706 you definitely can .. minor keys have their major “brother” .. same notes

Would you be so kind and share the backing track to jam to this in our living rooms??? The neighbors will appreciate it much thanks in advance 😊👍
I would just use em all including major chords and harmonies that interval into minor harmonic scale.
