How to Find the URL for a Facebook Post

Did you know that there's a trick for grabbing the EXACT URL for a Facebook post?
It's true! And this trick is important for when you want to send someone right to a post on Facebook, such as when you're emailing a retiree to tell them about all the great congratulatory comments they received.

Hey there it's Andrea. And in this video, I'm going to show how easy it is to get a specific URL that links to an exact social media post.
And I'm going to explain why that's important. So I'm Andrea Gribble. I run #SocialSchoo4EDU a company that trains school social media managers. We serve schools all over the country, K-12 schools, we love helping them reach thousands of people every single day with social media.
So you may be wondering like, why does it matter, Andrea? Why do I care about getting a specific URL post for a Facebook post? Well, sometimes you want to actually share a specific post with someone. Maybe it's via an email, right? Or a message to say, "Hey check out how great this post is doing," or "did you see this?" And it's on a platform other than Facebook.
Well, I'm going to show you exactly how easy it is to grab that link in these few steps. All right, here I am on my school's Facebook page. And if I wanted to share a specific post I need to actually click on the time or date stamp of the post to bring up the specific URL.
Look at that the post pops up and up in the address bar, it has newauburnschool/post/ this bigger long number. Well, that specific link is going to take them to this exact post. Now, the only other way to get them to your page is to just share your page and then they'd have to scroll, scroll, scroll.
So this comes in handy with things like retirees, or specific posts you want to share. Again, if this if I wanted to share, "Hey, look at there was a bunch of great comments wishing you well," I would go back and click on May 14th at 11:00 AM and then this specific post pops up. It even works with multiple pictures.
So if your post had a lot of pictures on it, like this one does from a track meet. Again you don't have to just share a specific picture, you actually click on the time that it posted there and then look at there's a unique post, just the post would pop up for them when they click this link and all of these pictures would show up as well.
This is a trick that I didn't realize many people didn't know how to do but this is how you do it on your desktop. So I hope this helped. That's it. That's how easy it is.
