If I started on LinkedIn from 0, here's what I'd do
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 27 ส.ค. 2023
- If I lost all of my followers on LinkedIn
Had 0 presence or brand there
And was tasked with building it all back up again, as fast as I possibly could…
This is EXACTLY what I would do!
FIRST: I'd go into it with this mentality….
I'm going on LinkedIn to win customers or at minimum set up meetings in the first 30 to 60 days. I'm not waiting for my brand to build or for me to get traction with content, I'm going to start social selling and creating opportunities day one! (I'll show you how to do that later 😁)
Now as I'm creating these short term wins, I'd also be focused on creating the type of content that builds brand and attracts my dream clients for months and years to come. That way I can slowly go from the hunter to the hunted 😎
And here's the 4 step process I would use to accomplish all of this…
Step 1: Decode the LinkedIn Algorithm
Look, there's no way you're going to "Game the LinkedIn algorithm" but what you can do is understand the landscape, the people there, and yes, how the LinkedIn algorithm tends to distribute content. Picture LinkedIn as a marketplace, hosting a staggering 63+ million companies - it's a B2B hub teeming with potential connections and opportunities. To succeed here, you need to know the terrain and make the most of it. It's important to note that LinkedIn is a social-graph algo, as opposed to an interest-based algo like TikTok, Reels, etc.
Step 2: Create a Client Attracting Profile
Your LinkedIn profile isn't just a digital business card; it's your brand's face to the world. Craft a compelling headline, banner, and about section that speaks to your audience's needs. This isn't about listing your achievements; it's about showcasing how you can solve their problems, and how you've done it many times before (With social proof)
Step 3: The Core Four Strategy - The secret to booking meetings on LinkedIn the first 30-60 days on the platform
Here's the gist of it:
Search: Use sales navigator to drill down by job title, industry, location, activity on LinkedIn, etc.
Engage: Engage with target customers content daily
Connect: Connect with those same people now because you have context
Message: Send them value-based personalized video DMs (Or audio/text) and start booking meetings!
Step 4: Creating LinkedIn Content That Converts
Your content is your voice on LinkedIn. It's like you being on stage delivering that keynote. Share eye-catching image posts with stories or short, impactful videos. Address the challenges your audience faces, and offer insights that showcase how you can provide solutions. Edutainment content is still VERY underutilized and underrated on that platform. Capitalize on that!

Some criticism: I'm only 3 minutes in and my head hurts from the video editing. You don't need moving transitions every 0.5 seconds in long form content. I needed to scroll down and just listen to the audio continue.
Nah. This video needs more zooms to keep us engaged.
More zooms! MORE ZOOMS!
Yessir more
It’s easy to get carried away.
I dont even know what you mean xD
Yup. More zooms, more plants, more LEDs. This just isn’t engaging enough.
I wasn't financial free until my 40’s and I’m still in my 40’s, bought my third house already, earn on a monthly through passive income, and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone's that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing in the financial market is a grand choice I made.
yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too
wanted to trade, but I got discouraged with the market price fluctuations
Can you recommend a guide for me?
I would highly recommend Professional Chrissy Barymoer for you ".,
I keep seeing good recommendation about

Hi Alex. You hit the nail in the head with your tips and videos. I did what you recommended in these videos about Linkedin profile, about your Website and videos and more. Hasn't been one week that I did it I am getting REAL connections. I want everybody to know it, listen to all of them, one or three or four times and start doing it. IT WORKS. THANKS VERY MUCH. Please keep it up. 🙂
Love to hear that! Thanks for sharing!!!
Starting from scratch on LinkedIn can be daunting, but your insights are super helpful! Your step-by-step plan is just what I needed to kickstart my LinkedIn journey. I appreciate your honesty and practical tips.

The value on this video ❤❤❤. Thank you
Sooo.. I’ve watched a ton of “gurus” and have even paid for courses on how to use LinkedIn.
But this single 12 min video taught me more than all of them.
Dude.. hearts.
Fantastic post and incredibly valuable information. I will be doing all of this 🗣️ TODAY!!
LFG!! Thats so cool to hear, thank you for sharing that👊💪
This video really motivates me. I got my first mic, tripod, and lights. I'm both excited and nervous to get started. Going for it no matter what.

Good info, Alex, thank you. Any chance you have samples of some of those video DMs you spoke so highly of? Would be great to see the vibe, style, approach
about to follow these instructions. wish me luck and great content💯👏
🚀
Great video. I’ve been trying to post and have gotten some leads off it so far. I need to learn how to do the editing and getting better pictures on there. I’m at the mercy of my work computer and cell phone without any good software.
So insightful! Love this! Would love to see more about content strategy and engagement in linkedin. Kudos!
Check out the new one i just posted yesterday! Covers the content strategy in depth! :)
LOVE the editing!!
Wow, thank you for this! Super useful stuff!

Really appreciate that, thank you!
Cool and helpful stuff!
Excellent information. 👍
Thank you great tips! 😊😊
Happy to share thanks for being here!
Hi Alex, this was such a great video! Sometimes the rabbit hole gets you exactly what you were looking for. Video DMs are something I never even considered, do you have a video on that topic?
Awesome! Thank you
you really share alot of videos and it is worth my time
Appreciate it👊
Great content! My question is, what do you talk about in the individual videos you send to leads?
Hi Alex! You deliver a lot of value in this video, thank you very much.
I have a question.
What type of personalized video do you send by DM. A video offering your services or giving them some advice about x?
Your video editor is a true Pro. For real
Like this, reminds me I have more work to do !Thanks Alex
Thanks for watching! :)
This is extremely helpful! Thanks a lot!
Great to hear that, thanks for watching!

Just fantastic!!

Thanks so much!
Thank YOU for being here and watching! 👊
This was so engaging
I thought this video was very informative. I've been using LinkedIn as a resource to connect with professionals for years, but only recently started using it as an entrepreneur. Some of these things I have done, but I have never been consistent enough to get results that I desired, and I didn't have the right outcome focus in mind. Thanks for providing more guidance Alex!
Great to hear that! And thanks for sharing👊
So, should we have a single LinkedIn personal page that also promotes our business? Or a separate one for personal and business? Great videos by the way!
Hey Alex, loved the video - I love the idea of video DM's but obviously they do require the connection first. I wonder if you might share an example of the kind of message you use to get that connection - from what you're saying it sounds like you probably reference their content and maybe offer up a content piece of your own? Thanks man - keep up the good work, that was a great vid!
I def reference a post ive engaged with them on, or no note at all (One of those two)
Ah nice shout - so really think of the first outreach step being the comments without being weird and annnoying! :) Relies on them being active of course but I guess that in itself is a good filter.@@AlexBSheridan
New sub here. Thank you for this video
Appreciate ya! 🙏
Brilliant
Thank you Michael! Appreciate you watching👊🙏
Alex - another brilliant and useful piece of content! Thank you. Can you confirm for me - do I need Sales Navigator to locate people who are aspiring to change career paths to something I can help them with like engineering or project management? I really can't afford it yet but haven't found a way to search for those I want to help make that change. Keywords like aspiring or junior don't seem to be helpful.
Thank you! And yes sales nav is your best bet for locating people that have recently changed jobs. Dont believe thats a function in reg linkedin
loving your video as you say it's unlocked something in my mind as you say but how i can build a strong profile for a company is their something different
Are you referring to building out a linkedin company page?
yes@@AlexBSheridan
Great overview as ever Alex. One question - when you want to keep updated about prospects future posts, what do you find the most effective method? I can click on everyone's notifications bell but I don't aways seem to get notified about new posts consistently. If I save them as a lead in Sales Navigator, is that the safest bet? Of course I could go old-school and just save the link to each contact's 'recent post' feed (so they don't get pinged with my profile views) - but that feels a bit of an archaic way of manually checking up which I might not always have time for!
Great question! Yes, sales navigator would be the best bet for organizing all of your leads and it even creates a mini newsfeed of the leads for you :). Other than that, good ole fashion excel works too lol
@@AlexBSheridan yep, saw the news feed. Super helpful but something I think I need to curate a bit as I initially saved a TON of leads on there by default. Need to prune it down to the truly active ones. Thanks so much!
You talking talking💯💯👏🏿
I love your video it's really unlocked something in my mind as you say but how I can build a strong profile for a company is there something different
Amazing to hear that!!
Awesome ideas. I'm just not sure who to "interact" with on Linkedin if I'm a Coach for men who lack confidence. Would that be follow and comment on other Coaches on Linkedin? Thanks!
These are the videos we need.
Appreciate ya! 💪❤️
@@AlexBSheridan this was really well produced my guy. The "edutainment" was strong lol. It's already hard learning anything with ADHD but this kept me engaged the entire time I saw the entire thing.
@@UnorthodoxGenius haha thank you! Glad to hear that💪
Game changing content. Thank you! Question- What if you are building a brand not connected to your name. How do you go deep and get super personal with prospects in content without showing your face and representing a brand?
Thank you! And what is the brand? B2C or B2B?
Hi Alex, In our case it is B2B. How would you recommend for B2B? @@AlexBSheridan
Brilliant video, content and production! What software do you use to edit please Alex? Can you share?
Our team uses a combo of runway, adobe, and descript. Thank you!
@@AlexBSheridan thanks Alex!
That's a quality ass video my guy.
Appreciate it👊
Great video! I have a personal LinkedIn profile but I have launched my own business which has a different name. Do you advise creating a new profile for the business or convert my existing personal profile to my business name?
Many thanks,
Great video, great tips! Thank you. A question:
How come people like Dan Koe and Justin Welsh almost never post video content, but they are still able to get so much traction and engagement?
You dont have to post videos on linkedin to get engagement. I do picture, text and video. All work. It all depends on your goals, strategy, etc. text doesnt build deep level relationship w audience IMO and doesnt translate to most modern platforms (YT, titkok, insta, etc). Great questions!
Thanks Man! This was so helpful! For your strategy, I'm trying to consider whether I should post 5 times a week per account (Personal, Business, Podcast) or should I Just do Personal, and the others do 2-3. What would you recommend?
Depends on the team/resources/strategy you have but more than likely its gonna be best to post 3-5 times on your personal page to start. You’ll get much more traction there
Thanks man.
I just have a question, for growing my LinkedIn profile, do I need to make 100 connection per week?
Isn't it kind of annoying?
A banger
Appreciate ya👊
Thanks, I really needed this but I would appreciate a guideline if you would please assist me
Can you do a more detailed video explaining the content strategy and what kinds of content works... As well as things like SEO, hashtags, how to algorithm know who to show content to... Viral content
Appreciate this! You mean specifically for linkedin, correct?
Alex, where in LinkedIn is the video DM capability? You mention it around the 8:50 mark of this video, but I don't see it in LinkedIn anywhere? Is it native to LinkedIn, or are you using a 3rd party app somehow? Please explain. Thanks and keep the GREAT content coming. I just found you and love your stuff.
It is only on the mobile app. Is that what you’re using?
Typically, no. I’ll review the mobile app more closely & let you know. And, thank you.
Do you need premium to show your website or landing page?
Hey I figured it out...turned on creator to add the custom link! I had my website on my profile before but it wasn't showing.
Thanks for the tip! It's because you even pointed this out that I looked into it.
Glad to hear that :)
Hi when we send message to connect, how should we write the message? Can you give some example of the message you will write? Thanks
Just to clarify, you filter by those who are active on LinkedIn, then engage with their content (before sending them anything), then send a Connection invitation? Is that a one day process or do you engage with their content a few days and then send a connection request?
Or do you send your 100 connection requests a week and only engage with the ones who accept your request? That part was kind of fast so I wanted to clarify.
As someone newer to LinkedIn this was the most helpful video I have seen. Thank you!
Yes to answer your question. And theres alot of dif ways to go about it. Def could be once a week, could be multiple times engaging then dming. Just depends on your customer
@@AlexBSheridan thank you!
❤
Alex, how did you create/plug in that "services and pricing here" link. Trying to find this under "Edit Contact info.
Thank you so much in advance. Your information has been more helpful than you know.
In the description? Just typed it in using full address
I figured it out Alex. I had to enable Creator Mode
@@AlexBSheridanI figured it out Alex. I had to enable Creator Mode. The custom button link wasn’t initially showing up
The tip you said about filtering people by the posts they made, how to do it? I dont want to sent request to inactive people so I want to grow my network
Its done in Sales Navigator under the "posted content on LinkedIn" filter :)
THank you!

How can I get more people sign up on my travel cruise business by upgrade on my link?
What if I want to use LI for my side hustle but do not want my employer to know? Do I have any options?
I did that for a few months. I built a whole new profile
I think we are going the wrong path in life if we are trying to gain followers on LinkedIn
Its not about followers its about winning clients, building brand, and accomplishing goals.
You don’t understand platform if you think it’s bad to grow from a professional social path. But go on.
@@dr7042 🙏
What platform are you using to make your videos? Is it expensive?
Our editors use adobe prem pro. No not expensive
It sounds good, but creating free content and setting up your website, landing page calls to action, articles that people will read, authentic pictures, and testimonials take time and money. Do you have tips on beginning when you have a brand new idea, how much it'll cost, and how much time you need to create a profile that, at the very least, has a good foundation and converts? I know it's hard to say in a general video like this because people have different budgets (or the lack thereof) and technical and creative skills. Still, a video on it would be well-received by many.
I started with 0 website and 0 money and used linkedin as my marketing channel and landing page. Keep it simple, work your way up as you grow
@@AlexBSheridan Thanks, that’s what I thought.
Wow! Great content!
What do you say in your introductory video message in their dms?
I don't know if it's my fault but I did what you said with a new LinkedIn profile and it was suspended the day after 😩
What did u do?
Hi Mate, I am planning on starting a content page from scratch. I dont want to use my own profile but create a new brand - would you recommend adding a business or creating a brand new linkedin account?
I would (in most cases) recommend starting a new personal profile then. Thats what i did in 2019..started from 0
@@AlexBSheridan Hi Alex, thanks. The content page is a business and not a personal profile. Would you recommend starting a new personal profile or a business page?
@@christophewhite-thomson6177 personal profiles are gonna get you 5-10x more reach so personal all the way!
Thanks. Interesting video. With respect, Please remember that we don’t need to see (and hear) tons of bells and whistles with editing. This causes me with Advanced ADHD to stop watching and just listen. JMHO. Thanks very much.
Appreciate that feedback!
I don’t have any specific condition, but I too have a hard time watching all of that flashing and things moving around and making noise. I’m going to try 😊

Roughly same strategy yeah
