So if you’re new to search engine optimization, and want a crash course, this SEO tutorial is for you.
Here are some of the things that I’ll go over in this new video:
First, I’ll show you how to get started with keyword research. It doesn’t matter if you’re an SEO newbie or SEO expert, keyword research is HUGE. And in the beginning of the video you’ll see how to find the right keywords for you.
Then I’ll show you how to create epic content around each of the keywords that you just found. In the old days of SEO, as long as your on-page SEO was in place, you could rank. Not anymore. To rank on the first page of Google today, your content needs to be LEGIT.
Next up, you’ll learn how to optimize your content for users and search engines. This step includes a ton of tactical examples from my experience.
Finally, I show you how to optimize your post for SEO. This is the exact checklist that I use to optimize my own blog content at Backlinko. And it works.
All in all, you’ll have an SEO beginner’s guide that you can use to help rank your site on the first page of Google. Enjoy!

Hi Brian, I watched this video today to help me with my new website. I went to ask the public and exploding topics and it all made perfect sense after that - I could find very relevant exploding topics and long-tail keywords, usually 3 words and I made 2 lists of the most relevant exploding topics with the biggest growth and saw there are direct links between the most relevant keywords, so I've used the topic as the page title and the keywords in meta descriptions and in the page content. This video made it easy for me to understand the difference between the 'topic' and the search terms. It also helped me understand that some of the topics are more than likely topics that are being searched for by the industry rather than end consumer- which is what I want also. Thanks for helping me to do this pretty quickly and understand it easily.

I invited my followers to react on certain posts and those posts ranked high in no time.
Maybe because people spent more time on te posts to read the reactions or Google does meassure how many people react. But it's a really interesting result.

Very useful video, I can appreciate it. There are lots of long and convoluted videos on this subject but yours was in detail and easy to understand. I have a question about SEO and I hope you can help me out with it. The question is as follows: I am a photographer located in New York so I prefer location specific keywords for example "new york family portrait" However, not all potential customers will include the location in their search. Some will search for simply "family portrait" so if I use in the pages meta descriptions and actual content of the pages "new york family portrait" and they search for "family portrait" will my site still show up in their search results? Hopefully you can help me out with this issue, thanks so much,

This is below noob level. Although there are good things in it. I find you have to put the true story together from several people. The main reason Brian is ranking is because he is Brian. No disrespect to him. There is so much more that needs to be thought about. Such as dwell time and all sorts.
Brian- I would have to agree that you are the authority of SEO right now. Each time I watch you videos or read your content and implements your strategies I see immediate results. I was able to increase the click through rate on some of my other videos using your "thumbnail optimization strategies". You asked what we did we learn and are going to do now? Identifying Broken Links and offering replacements is brilliant. I am going to work with some of my partners and even create content to fill the back-link if we don't have a suggestion. Thanks for sharing all of this content. I know you have to manage different content platforms, however your videos are great and would love to see more of them once you have time. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing all of your knowledge.

@@gamerbros6238 well one thing is clear with his instructions is that he makes you believe doing all those technical SEO stuff which suppose to happen organically, you should do them yourself manually and that may fool google for few days but then your content will be thrown back with your whole site. so no he doesn't give you the best advice specifically if you are a newbie.

That's very interesting that Brian talks about unique/original images vs stock images. One of my websites has unique photos I took myself and is ranking very well. My other website has all stock images and is very slow in ranking under my targeted keywords.

What about local SEO? If we run an SEO company, 99.99% of clients will be local SEO clients. Will these tips help specifically to the local website?

Yes, e.g. how to push a small local business, such sites often have no blog posts, there should be something how to do SEO there. This would we very interessting and important.
