    Things I like about my ZE.50 Rapid charge.
    1. The CCS 50kw, mine will charge from 20% to 80% in about 30mins, certainly by the time you have drunk a cup of service station coffee and finished a sandwich.
    2. The App is nice you can turn on the A/C remotely, monitor the charge status, navigate a route based on the current charge level, number of passengers etc.
    3. good acceleration, and great range,
    Things which aren't so great
    1. Unless you are in ECO mode, motorway driving will gulp through your range. The max speed in eco-mode is 65mph, the speed limit in the UK is 70mph. Surely the software could be tweaked so the car could do the speed limit in eco mode?
    2. The car is really noisy when charging. I'm on a off peak tariff which kicks in at 12:30am. Sometimes woken up with the fans whirring away while on a 7kw charge.
    3. I really wish I had stretched for the optional heat pump, it takes a age for the car to get warm in winter.

    I enjoyed the Video Review. I would also choose the Peugeot e-208

    Renault making CCS an option on a car with a 50kWh battery 🤦‍♂️ searching for a used Zoe ZE50 is a minefield. Thanks Renault.

    Reasonable review is all about what you get for you money, not "this is better than that", or "I like this one better"

    I have a Zoe 135GT & I don't have a problem storing my type 2 cable for the simple reason that I never bring it with me; use rapid chargers with tethered cables all the time. I'm 6'2" and I find the Renault really comfortable & nippy.

    Mini Cooper=YES, Kia Soul=YES , BMW I3=YES, VW ID3=YES , Zoe=NO!! ==> 0 point in CRASH-TEST Euro NCAP!! And boring design!

    Good review!👍 Like your clear voice,easy for a swede to understand🤣 Zoe has not liquid cooling battery as Peugeot i think..rapidgate in hot summer charging...

      Zoe doesn't have liquid cooling but it has fan cooling. The original 40kWh leaf had no cooling

    I wonder how well those fare at here in winter conditions like -20 celsius at January.

    No P on the transmission is a bit annoying as you have to rely on the handbrake only

    Wonder why Peugeot persist with that small steering wheel with the dials above it? Almost all the reviews I've seen of Peugeot cars flag it up.

      It divides opinion, so risky on Peugeot’s part. We like it on our 3008.

      With the added adjustable reach and rake of the steering wheel, the idea was to avoid having to look “through” the steering wheel at the dials, more of a “view them above it”. You really get used to it and going back into a car with a larger steering wheel then feels “weird”. I don’t think it’s a love or hate thing as you really get used to it.

    • @Steve-gc5nt

      Yea I've got used to it and find getting into a car with a more standard wheel strange now.

      @@flintdxb7514 it depends. I'm 185cm in height and i haven't found a single seating arrangement in the new peugeot where i could actually see the whole dashboard without having the steering wheel either on my knees or way too high for comfort. It's quite weird and one of the main reasons my next car won't be one......even though i like the e208 from the outside.

      It allows you to drive like a f1 car. no need to feed the wheel through the hands, just turn like a go kart. Much better when you get used to it

      Having test-driven the 208 first, when we drove the Zoe it was much noises at higher speeds and when closing the doors the Renault felt and sounded tinny. Not a bad car by any means but the 208 is significantly better quality. Very easy decision for us to buy the 208

    If you like the e208 but not its steering wheel, look at corsa-e.
    Plus you get physical ac controls.
    All onnthe same fun, fast platform.

      @@andrealub77 in my opinion the new Corsa is the current best in class, because of everything you just pointed out and I think it looks great too without fussy details. But I think badge snobbery might come into it for some...

    You can get a cheap false floor for the e-208 as an option that you can order even after you bought one.

    208 is obviously a better car, but the Zoe is better value - its about one third cheaper

    The dash in the Pug is a no-no for me. The double decker layout and the wheel position are too much, like one of the two freaking towers. The Zoe’s is way cleaner and simpler...

    The Peugeots cabin is one of the reasons I wouldn't buy it; stupid small steering and a lottery whether you are the right height to see the dials.

  • @whitemoor66
    @whitemoor66 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Of these two it would have to be the Zoe for me. I simply can't get on with the ridiculous I cockpit in current Peugeots. How a company can sell cars which are deliberately flawed (as far as the driving position is concerned) for a proportion of potential customers is beyond me!

    • @stephandolby
      @stephandolby 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Is it, though? You're meant to lower the steering wheel so it's the same distance to your knees as a conventional setup. This should reduce fatigue as well. If it doesn't suit, it doesn't suit.

      I test drove the 130 GT Line petrol last week & the i-cockpit was fantastic - as was the seating position and the seats themselves.

  • @shanjanusman9974
    @shanjanusman9974 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    These tests aren't proper. The reason why people are skeptical is because they don't drive alone and without luggage. Imagine having a sports bag with a horse riding hat, jacket and gloves then to the saddle pad and possibly feed bags and travelling on The M62 motorway 🛣 lets see how long it copes compared to a two to three litre petroleum or diesel fuel automobile.

      @@fyank1 I'm in the world of horses and ponies 🐴 🤣 😄 and also some of the horsey folks also like a good towing vehicle for their horsebox trailers too. This is where going electric goes into difficulty.
