    I'm sorry. Did they say you need to throw something out after not wearing it for 6 months?
    Are they not familiar with seasons?

    • @breakawayfromme
      @breakawayfromme 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      She is absolutely right, what's the point in buying something knowing youll wear it for one week out of year or only one night
      Its more ethical to think about practically when buying clothes instead of whether its in fashion or the season.

    • @CharmingDandy

      @@breakawayfromme just checking, but when i say "seasons" I don't mean fashion trends, I mean the weather seasons. Summer, autumn, winter and spring.
      I do not wear the same clothes during winter and in summer. Which are 6 months apart.

    I am not a hoarder but do suffer from severe depression and my house just got like a hoarding home. But due to water damage I had to start cleaning up and I tackled my bedroom first. (Before I knew they needed to be in my bedroom) It went slow and it felt like I truly hadn't done anything because it was just moving stuff to the newly opened room and that felt so frustrating. But somehow I managed to get it all done. Then my livingroom. Due to waterdamage there too, I had a lot to toss and a table to clean up and lots of unopened and unchecked crates and boxes relatively quickly. I asked for help online if someone wanted to move and toss my treadmill, bed and something else but he offered to take all the stuff that had to go. It costed me a little more than I had offered but since he would take it all to the dump for me it saved me so much hassle amd it was cheaper than movingpeople. My house was given the green light and I got a compliment how much I had done and how hard I worked. Things will need to be moved for the painting but that'sfine. Without the waterdamage that has to be renovated I would never have done this much this fast. I also will need to completely decorate my bedroom since there is so much mold I couldn't keep anything. I do not mind redecorating, but the money, boo.
    I might do it in episodes.
    I know that without these things happening my bedroom would still look like a hoarder room, when in fact I only kept 1 box in total (many disney plushies I don't know what I want to do with. Sell, maybe give away... keep.... I just don't know. I do not count those as a keep yet).
    The process of throwing things out was really easy for me. It qas and is just the utter luck of energy. Yes. Even putting away a tshirt neatly cost me way too much energy at my worst. But cleaning up a big mess is even more work. I probably will need to arrange for a housekeeper/help to keep it this way.
    The guy who helped me offered to help me out getting my rug out of the bedroom. And I hope he will hang up a wooden plank that I can hang plants on (over a little nail not fully embedded in the wood) or just put plants on. Gives a bit of green in my house that I never had in the 20y I live here.
    I can understand that feeling of "where do I even start" all too well. In the end you just have to pick up ao.ething and go from there but at least seeing it go down is rewarding. My cleaning only was when I truly had two sides of my bed free enough so people could walk there and test my walls for how much water was in there.

    These women made an improvement! Congratulations JULIE(JULIA) and NICKY! They still have way too much in my opinion! It is their life! I rather watch cases that made a huge change/ declutter! I do not really know, but I have noticed English people, where ever in the world, seem to keep more clutter. Some European, maybe like Sweden, and French, seem to be more minimalist, few choice pieces and practical. That was only what I have observed in my life, does not mean it is accurate. It is just interesting, backgrounds and different tolerances, concepts, etc........

      Clutter is not related to country.. It just depends on people.. Who are either minimal or maxi with stuff.
      Don't forget these series are usually American or British (ie English speaking) ..I have never seen such series for other countries eg European countries on you tube, which is probably because they wouldn't get a big enough audience on you tube due to the language barrier. But that does not mean that people's houses are not cluttered in those countries.
      Also the people on these shows are a few of eg 70 million (in UK).. So these shows do not represent the whole population.
