      I do re-sell but for a modest price, just because it is more convenient than donating. However, I do agree it takes a lot of effort. :( Worth it for the joy the items bring to new owners, but so time-consuming, I agree :(

    These shows are sooooo much better than the American ones. The hoarders are doing the work and realize how much effort it takes to clean. They spend months decluttering, so they dont want to fill it back up. Doing this for months ( instead of days) creates new habits so they can continue to declutter as the mess comes in.

    I can't believe that kitchen and craft room are considered decluttered- If those "after" pics were the "before" pics I could well have believed it! Still so much junk!

      I understand that it is still very messy. I think the idea is that it is much better than it was and is functional. Before the decluttering and organizing, the items were inaccessible and the rooms were not usable. To a hoarder (I have some in my family) these rooms are EXTREMELY clean and organized.

I could say stuff but after years and years of having it in my life it has become junk to me, but I’m physically unable to do it alone. Trust me when I say this, get rid of it now while you are still able so you can enjoy your life while you still can. ❤

    After watching this show I think these people are not hoarders but only lazy enough to clean their home. Lucky for them to have a permanent home. And here I am having a general cleaning every week in our place. Here in south korea we move every year. Hopefully this year we can extend our contact for 1 more year.

    🤣🤣🤣🤣 the reveal of the craft room was the most unimpressive. They hardly did anything, the lounge is still a mess, the kitchen is the best out of all rooms. She loves having all her stuff around it brings comfort, so I guess the little bit they did do was alot for her. But if was still unimpressive.

  • @janesmith9024

    I am afraid although they made a good start the AFTER photos are incredibly cluttered eg they could have had nothing in the garage or just a lawn mower and a bike but it is still very full of stuff she does not need. Same with the first couple - far far far too much craft work. Even the kitchens are just totally cluttered. I try not to have much out at all. They have about 100x more than I have. Anyway good start made.

    People saying they should sell this and that and get more money. BS, these people need to get rid of these things, if they really wanted to get money they would sell themselves, they would never do it, that's why the houses are so full. So that's what they get, someone comes, sells cheap and get rid of the things, that's it.

  • @Mpompadour
    @Mpompadour 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Homes in the UK are so small. It don't take much to clutter them up. Most homes in the US are much larger and when they get hoarded, it's a way bigger mess. I could probably fit 3 of their homes in my one house.

    • @tinalettieri
      @tinalettieri ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the big difference I see is that these are cluttered but not filthy. The american homes with few exceptions are filled with literal garbage, animal excrement and rotting food. That's what I don't understand about the "disorder." Also, the American shows want it all done and completely transformed within a few days. These cover months with the "hoarders" taking their time but getting it done.

    I try not to judge people… everyone has addictions, poor coping skills, or something. I learned in my 20’s I hated Knick-knacks as I hated dusting. In my early 30’s I went through divorce. I lost everything… it was the best thing that ever happened. It really made me realize, you need very little to survive. You can’t take nothing with you when you leave the world…. And 99% of the time, no one else wants your stuff. They have their own stuff. I’m not a minimalist by any means. I definitely don’t have any excess either. Since my current husband has a bad memory it’s easy to get rid of any excess because he doesn’t remember anyway 😂. If his kids bring in knick-knacks, I leave around for a few months and throw them out. They never remember anyway. Not in 5 years have they ever missed any dollar store item they given us. My rule is buy things I use … not things I have to find a home for. I’m happier with paper towels and cleaning products than something I have to dust.
