The action figures should have been sold at a comic con... He would have got lot more. They sold it at the wrong place for sure...

That's true. It all depends on who is sitting in the chairs at the auction -- if the collector of THAT particular item doesn't show up, the bidding is lacklustre and you take any price over the reserve. AND those two windows! 60 for the pair? give me a break. Of course He wasn't showing them to the right shop. Again, it takes a little time to place an item and you can't blame a dealer for bidding low. Even the African items -- he didn't take them to a specialist in that item. The dealer offers the price that his clients will pay -- but if collectors of African art are not among his clients and if that isn't his expertise he will sell them as exotic knick knacks. Again -- I don't blame the dealer -- the seller has to know where to place things and that takes time. These "hoards" were not junk at all as some hoards may be.

I think they would have done much better selling on the internet instead of at auction. In my experience auctioneers just want to get rid of stuff and bid low to do so. Curtis goes to that one auctioneer all the time and he sucks
Than why didnt they try before? Bc they are lazy. many people sell on net, it take a lot of time and still many people try to pay less. it take months to sell something, not just 1 day

Edit : I also collect Buddha’s and have my degree in Art History and I would love to be his PA. Such a charming man. But I’m afraid we wouldn’t get much progress made because I’m sure we would both want to go find more treasure together LOL.
That poor man's mother, whole family wiped out. No wonder he wants to keep things. Good luck to all of them. I sew and also make cards so my little bungalow has fabric and card making paraphenalia in storage boxes in the hall, lounge and bedroom!

You really need to re-evaluate Curtis skills in selling. He sells things shockingly low priced. Those collectible boxed figurines would have fetched far more money sold on a piece by piece basis online. Job lots always sell for less than individual items especially with brand new in box collector figures. He doesn't know his markets well and goes to totally the wrong places to sell these things. Maybe instead of an "antiques" expert you should instead bring in an experienced "reseller". Resellers know what will and will not sell in the current markets and where/how to sell them for best profits.
Curtis has only few days. They could sell them before, or try to sell them but it didnt happend. And there is many online sellers, so its not as good as you imagine

I cane here after watchin the episodes on Rakuten just because I was APPALLED by how low that lazy seller sold al these stuff!! What a weasel! He’d give them the lowest quote ever so that they’d be thrilled when they sell for more. Less work for him. He clearly couldn’t care less about those people or their stuff. Shame

My Mum has heard ng but is in denial. Shechad an accident as a child and carried trauma from WW2 so it makes a lot of sense generational trauma and that feeling of "it will come in handy".
as an employee of a thrift shop I once had to empty a house from a deceased lady, she collected dolls I believe it was 1.5 trucks full everywhere in the house dusty dolls in the toilet every room the shower the attic, pure pure horror

All dealers are the same. Buy cheap sell expensive. It's how they make their profits and it's always at the other persons expense :(
They need a booth at Comic-Con booth. If they sold them in the US (pre covid) he would make a fortune!

I thought this footage is several years old and that is why some of the quotes given for the items were just ridiculous.
Then I did some research and Hoarder SOS ran from 2016-2017!
There is no excuse and I am offended on their behalf.
These episodes are just filler. If the homeowners and hosrs really wanted to clean out the hoard, 70% of the clutter would be gone by the end of the day.

Great video. Always difficult for hoarders to get rid of things. Seeing something for their stuff would help. Things are only as valuable as what people are willing to pay for it. Can't guarantee a set price. I thought the hoarders would get rid of a lot more to be honest but what they did get rid of they should be proud of themselves. An enjoyable and entertaining video.

Another futile attempt to de-hoard the hoarders' hoard! They are picking and choosing items out of the mountains of clutter. The American show with Ms Kim the host, accomplishes more in the episode.
