First want to thank you for your videos on the fogging speedo problem. I too have the same problem with my 2019 softail slim. I used your video where you took apart the speedo that quit working after you drilled it, to drill my own speedo accurately. 2nd I want to let you and others know this worked for me, and my speedo works just fine and no longer fogs up. I live in southwest Oregon so have plenty of humidity. I used your video of the disassembly of the non-working speedo to precisely drill 2 holes in the back of my speedo. Just got back from a 3-day ride on the Oregon Northern California coast with absolutely no fogging at all. Inside the speedo where you drilled your hole, I also drilled in the bottom corners of that center piece where the internals of the speedo are a bit tapered and appears to be room to miss the internal workings. I put 2 1/8-inch holes one in each bottom corner, I also did not allow the drill bit to penetrate any more than necessary to make a small air hole. Not real familiar with how to post, pics ect. on TH-cam, but I do have pictures of the back of my speedo where I drilled, I will try to post them. Thanks, sorry it took trashing your speedo but hopefully it helps others as it did me. Without your video I would still be putting up with a fogged-up speedo every time.
Good vid, I've got a 2005 Softail which suffers the same fogging, and I'm sure it's prevalent in many previous years as well, just one of those 'nuances' that comes with being a Harley owner. Looking forward to seeing how your fix goes.
I've had the same problem with my 2014 FXDWG. I used a LED light along the side of the speedo to determine where the logic boards were located & drilled two 2mm holes on opposite sides to avoid touching the boards. Problem solved. I live in Australia in the tropical north.
Thanks for the Tip. Im from Brazil and i have the same problem when is SUMMER. In the winter is ok. I will try this. After i gave you a Feedback... Thanks so much.
@@RidesForDays but in saying all that i had spoken to someone who said it worked for them. after i tried warming it up to let it vent and putting it in rice for a week with no results i brought a 2022 sport glide speedo and this one seems to be working so far
I may have the solution. I put two small bags of moisture absorber next to the module. You get these small bags when you buy something, it's in the package... No more fog!
Break the glass, remove the broken glass pieces, fill void with epoxy (color of your choice), problem solved. Knowing your presice speed is highly overrated.

I'm glad I was able to help. I was able to replace the speedo at a reasonable cost so the learning experience didn't cost me too much in the end
Use a torch to identify the empty cavity on the white casing and drill accordingly in that area.
Worked like a charm on my 2018 FatBob

Hi, the fogging is a deadset pain no doubt. New video up in a few days after my road-test last week.

That was good thinking mate
Did it work?
hi , I´m from Brazil and I have fatbot 2018 flfb with the same issue. Could you please share if your action fixed the problem?.. Thanks!!!
Since I replaced the speedo it has been great no issues
Thanks for this, I'll look forward to your update before tackling mine 😉
Here's hoping🤞
I have the same issue on my 21 heritage but not as much as yours but definitely in the same place
Definitely a common issue for sure
I drilled two small holes in 2018 Heritage and I live in Florida. Drive in fog and rain had not had a problem
Sounds good
Every comment I see with this problem is with tank mounted gauges. Does anyone have this issue on a bagger with fairing mounted gauges?
Yes I’ve noticed that also
Thanks my Friend

Good luck!
I have this problem with my 2005 FLHRCI Road King. It's a general thing.
My 2018 Slim has the same issue, so annoying and shouldn’t happen on a premium motorcycle
Been happening on them all for years unfortunately. Something most of us just put up with
Mine had this issue, harley changed it under warranty. 8 months later no issue at all
Good result 👍
i drilled a hole in mine and it ended up worse, i rode on a foggy morning and the hole allowed it to collect a lot of water,
That's no good. Let's see what happens
@@RidesForDays i also ended up with ants going into hole and running around the speedo and it was only a 1.2 mm hole
Shit. I'm losing confidence now 😄

How much did the new speedo cost?
Really? The new models still have this problem?
Mines a 2019
It is annoying to have the condensation but I think I'll live with it until they fix it.
Probably wise
They aren’t fixing it! Been happening for years. HD will replace with same shitty Speedo under warranty and will until warranty runs out.
Drill two small holes in your speedo in bottom, it will breathe and go away!
Keep the hose off yer speedo when you wash the bike
You can still hose your bike without drowning the speedo

Piss poor engineering from Harley Davidson.
Very frustrating that's for sure

Have you tried this yourself? I thought epoxy got hot when hardening?? and thats not something u want to do to an led screen.
@nollidelddik No, it ruins the speedometer but it looks pretty and doesn't bother you anymore.
😞 ρяσмσѕм
waste of time replacing it with the same thing , the stupid harley dealers know they are all the same ,, my 19 year heritage is the same ;;
Yeah I just don't like the aftermarket options
nonsense i did that , made it worse
What happened when you did it?
did it work?
I replaced the speedo for a new one. No problems ever since
