      Woah good catch. He had guilt or shame for what he was doing, but it was not a Godly sorrow, He was only concerned with his public image being ruined. Super sad all round.

    What I like about you is that you are economical with words - not one wasted. This particular gift of God makes the message more substantial and memorable. Thank God!

    The flooding of "self-help" teachers (I use that term sarcastically) and Prosperity Gospel pastors (again, sarcastically) into the mainstream has shaped the millennial generation. Hard work doesn't make you a millionaire, but when 90% of the people think so, they miss the mark and create an abundance of broken people who don't know what their true value is... Gifts, talents, duty, discipline, Accountability, these are the things many young adults don't understand today. I'm praying daily my service towards Generation Z will help correct the course we're on now! I pray for all groups, but God has called me for this purpose and I will not neglect it!

    John Macarthur has a great sermon here that anyone concerned with this topic might benefit from hearing, called: 'defeating discontentment' - it has a bit more substance than: "chin up, God loves you"

    No one ever told me I was amazing.
    I was always told I was shit and deserved nothing and way less smart I thought I was.
    And yet today I am the successful one, I made discoveries they cannot possibly imagine, and I do no even need to work. REKT.

    Even if I could face the common folk or a God after death I could not face the men that shed their sweat, blood, tears, and had the engenuity and passion to build the paradise that is the 1st world I live in without trying to at least try to match their virtues. I rather feel down because I failed to achieve "perfection" than corrupt virtuosity left by past men by living in oblivion to it. Glory to mankind, for it built paradise from rough land and asked nothing in return.

    it started with the Beatles Generation - born in 50's - and fanatical followers of Skip the first 3 weeks of Lent - Milk & Honey Coolness is All That Matters in Life. For 3 generations, we have witnessed the breakdown in the Home/Marriage, The Tribe and The Meeting Tent.

      If you look at the forest, the great sweep of history, it started with the skeptic atheists in the 17th century. This was called The Enlightenment . They threw off the Christian worldview in favour of the view that "man is god". That soon transitioned into the godless man...and the emergence of two important children of the Enlightenment spirit ...Nietzsche and Marx...Nietzsche the father of Nazism and Marx the founder of Communism. These eventually led to such horrors that the atheist intellectuals abandoned all hope that man could solve his own problems with technology and progress. But they were determined not to bow the knee to God. So they came up with a solution...the problem was that the failures of the Enlightenment could be measured...so they decided they had to destroy the system of measurement. The first thing they attacked was the notion of Truth...there is nothing that is TRUE they said. Once they had done that, they proceeded to question and undo all the FACTS established by the old measuring system. All of a sudden from the history faculties came the notion that the Holocaust never happened, or that it wasn't all negative if you consider the longterm. And the idea that White Christian Europeans are the cause of the world's problems and injustices. From the psychology department came the notion that homosexuality is innate, unchangeable and normal...and now...gender is just a concept made up by society that doesn't exist...etc. etc. etc. But what they refuse to realize is that God foresaw all these changes made to deny Jesus Christ who is the "Truth"...when you deny any truth of any kind, then you are denying Jesus Christ, the source of all TRUTH. That's why God described in the Bible, the current evil and the wrath that he is going to pour out on all who "took pleasure in unrighteousness ".

    The generation that you thrash is struggling with lack of wage growth, extreme cost of homeownership, extreme cost of university degree, self fund retirement, and increase cost of kids. That is why we are struggling

    • @chrisallen7911
      @chrisallen7911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honey, we have all been struggling with this since the 1970s. The only generation that seemed to have wages equal to cost of living were those who lived as young adults during the 1950s-1960s. Those of us born from 1970 on have all had the same struggles.... NO wage increase to match the cost of living.

    I low-key feel like the "you told you were special" is a white people millennial problem. but the idea of living outside ourselves is very on point yeeee

    • @vegasgirl3538
      @vegasgirl3538 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most definitely. I'm from an affluent, white area and the kids are so over-praised from such an early age they can't handle it when they get out in the real world and strangers don't think they're the most special, unique being ever created. My niece and nephew are Millenials and their entire social circle is a case study in failure to launch. Lots of college dropouts, lots of kids still living at home with no ambition to move out, etc. The worst thing a parent can do is coddle their child and shield them from all disappointment.

    I was talking just the other day about how I personally don't honestly believe that the upcoming generation (aka "millennials") will be capable of, or willing to, support the nation long into the future.
    First of all, they are largely entitled and lazy. What little work they actually can do they often won't. God's ethics teach that if a man will not work, he should not eat, so both physically and spiritually, we are heaping the curse of upcoming famine upon ourselves. While the entire society is crumbling, the only thing these kids want to do is play video games and chase other lusts of their flesh.
    Second, they don't honor and respect their parents, elders, leaders -- or much of anyone, for that matter. They've isolated themselves from the most valuable people in their lives, and I can't fathom how they will be able and willing to support this honorable generation in twenty or forty years. They also have God's promise that they will quickly perish from the land that the Lord gave them by not obeying His Word. Honor your father and mother, for this is the first command with promise that it may be well with you and that you will live long in the land. We need people who will stand up and tell this generation to respect their elders, even if the respect isn't demanded by their elders. But, alas, who will they listen to? Anyone over the age of twenty-five or so is "irrelevant" and "out of date". (Of course, that's baloney but they don't even seem to care what anyone thinks.)
    Thirdly, the Western world is so far removed from the principles of God that it will only be His incredible grace if we are not wiped out by His Divine hand, or allowed to perish by our own sinful hands.
    Some may call me a millennial because I've a model year 1994 body but I don't have the same engine anymore, praise God! My parents had an album in the late 90s with a song that said, "Satan is my motor". Praise be to God I've had a major surgery, and my motor has been replaced, hallelujah! And when God gets started on a project, He sees the completion of it, so even though I'm a work in progress and some people think I'm a scrap heap fit for the junkyard, I'm actually undergoing a major overhaul, and when God is through with me, I'm gonna be real polished and all so that I can do what I was made to do: reflect the Son.
    P.S. You might find this interesting; I think it's worth a watch:

      As a kid in This generation we don’t fail to respect elders because they are “expired” that’s not a thing. We just expect respect both ways, if you respect us most of us will treat you well. But the problem some elders have some absurd security and blind authority with no good reason.

      L L, So spot on! I’m not on Facebook myself but I can relate to that with other things. I was recently spending that much time on TH-cam most days, and years ago spent nearly as much time on computer games whenever I could. The closer I get to God the more I don’t want to waste my life on TH-cam, news, games, etc. Walking with Him is much better. It is awesome learning form and growing with God!

    “So, how did she get to be a miserable millennial? Note: It’s dangerous to make one person kind of stand-in for millions and millions.”
    Yet, that’s exactly what you’ve done in this video. Painted an entire generation of millennials as to why they’re “miserable”, based on only one millennial.
    You know what’s interesting, is that NOT everyone has been brought up with all those ideals that you’ve listed.
    I really doubt she’s as miserable of a human being as you made her out to be. Maybe she was having a bad day and felt like venting to someone. Or maybe you’re right and she
    has this perfect life and everything she could ever ask for, except hearing and believing in the good news of Jesus Christ. If that’s the case, then she’s the exception of lucky millennials who
    have it all together and are living prosperous lives, as for the rest of us, we are struggling with bigger and more pressing issues that can, at times, make us feel miserable
