Nice video. I just purchased a 2010 Mac Mini 3 days ago and was able to upgrade to a 1 TB Crucial SSD and 16 GB of Ram from OWC. I am satisfied. You can do the same. However, I do notice the CPU is continually running pretty warm at 130 degrees F even while it just sits. My 2014 Mac Mini stays around 100 degrees F idle. Cheers!

Great video. A couple of things I think you should do to this mac mini. First, even though the theoretical max ram is 8gb, i believe they can easily be upgraded to 16gb of memory. Next, you should try to use the dosdude 1 patcher to get catalina on this machine. Next, if you're really determined, you can actually replace the hard drive with an SSD if you want, as that would give a good speed increase. However, if you're going to go that far, I would just buy a newer machine. I think just upgrading the ram is enough as anything under 8gb today in my opinion is pretty painful (especially since that computer has a hard drive so when it has to swap, that would make it even slower). Also, the nvidia geforce 320m is actually NOT a dedicated graphics card, its an integrated graphics card but instead of being integrated onto the processor like the intel integrated graphics, its just integrated onto the system and shares memory from the main system ram. Anyhow, been loving your channel. Keep up the great content!

@@codywarner4144 Well, i used it daily driver for few days, it was "Oki-sh" i must say. We must not forget that it´s 11 years older with a dual core basic intel CPU. I did upgrade it with SSD and 6GB ram before starting to use, with Normal HDD i think it will be even slower.
I am looking for a cheap device to save old video footage from a camera with a firewire port. Do you think that this mac mini would be sufficient enough for this task? I could by a one for 50$
Yes, the 2010 Mac Mini should be able to handle that just fine… As long as you aren’t editing video on it. If you Wanted something beefier with a FireWire port on it, you could always go with a 2010 or 2012 Mac Pro, but those would run you a lot more money. You could also buy a USB to FireWire adapter as well if you wanted to save a bunch of $$.
Nice vid , I subbed, I purchased one on eBay as well . I bought it to basically do word some excel coding and emailing / google stuff . Nothing too resource using . This is the one I got; Apple Mac Mini A1347 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 256GB SSD 8GB Memory. Is it ok how is yours
