    Now to find a way to put the M1 Mac Mini in the 2010 Mac Mini!
    Maybe with converting the DVD drive to USB internally, and then connecting/soldering it to the M1?

    Nice review. The 2010 Mac mini is even noisier compared to the m1 than you stated. The noise doubles for every 3db increase (it’s not a linear scale) you’ve got a new sub

    Good video! Sometimes you mix up byte (B) with bit (b). It would also be useful to list the version of each benchmark in the description along with the OS versions. My 2010 Mini was my first Macintosh computer, and I just bought a 2020 M1 Mini. My 2010 still works, but after years as a Mac, then as a Windows Media Center PC, it is pretty-much retired.

    Crazy to think that even in almost 2024 it still looks the same... this show it had a very good design for the future. But sad they killed the space grey version they had with the 2018 version tho...

      @@bendermi Sounds good and, the 2010 “Mac mini” is great for vintage fun. To upgrade the memory is ultra simple, just go to the iFix site. It's arriving later today.
      I chose it because of the Superdrive, but there is no CD media to install.

      Try using dosdude1’s Catalina Patcher so you can get Mac OS 10.15 on it. Then you should be able to get your iPhone 11 to work.

      Well, the way Apple devices work ... older tech many times will work with the new but, many times the new will not work with older tech. You always, have to check the operating system requirements for each item (keyboard, track-pad, mouse, etc.). For example, my Apple black track-pad and black mouse will work on my 2010 "mac mini" running OS X 10.13 High Sierra but would not work if, I down graded to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (smile...smile).

    • @mxmobile5619
      @mxmobile5619 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@campampates it’s fine. Don’t update past Mojave using patchers tho because Catalina is slow as molasses and Big Sur has graphical glitches but does perform better. Also don’t expect a speedy experience. Throw in an ssd and 8gb of ram maximum and it’ll be a good little machine for TH-cam Netflix and light video editing (1080p30 or 720p60). It performs ever so slightly faster than my mid 2009 MacBook Pro for a point of reference for speed.

    2010's and 2011's suck big time. They are very bad quality thanks to the 320M/HD3000/HD6630M. But the 2009 and 2012 models are still the best computers money can buy. Just got a second hand 2.53GHz server 2009 with SSD and 1TB HD for 85 bucks and an i5 2012 for 130 bucks. They are very responsive machines that run all modern software. And they can run Apple's best OS today (Mojave which still runs everything) AND Windows side by side, both are impossible on the M1.
