First thing.. We’ve only had this bike for a few days so the full review of how it actually performs will have to wait. At this point we are still learning about the bike, but here’ a first look and a run down of the new features.
But before you reach for the outrage button consider this. This is the top of the line model. It’s the money no object version that sits at the top of the range to show off what is possible. There are other bikes in the range that are priced much lower. This is the all dancing, “Look at me!” version. Like the top of the line, bling’d up car that sits at the top of the pile with a crazy price tag that no one chooses at the car showroom. I point out in the video below that you can buy a Toyota Aygo for well over £20k, but why would you? You can also buy one for half that money too and most people in that particular car market will choose that option.
That’s me trying desperately to moderate the inevitable outrage that shall surely flow at the end of this first look. I’m also not making excuses for Specialized here - this is clearly a staggering price and I’m not pretending it’s good value. The important point to note is that the fundamental changes that have happened to this 3rd generation Levo are to be found at all the price points and so apart from the bling spec on this model the changes are universal through the range.
Now the motor has been fixed, can it be retro fitted to a 2020 Levo?

Please stop about the price of this bike :(. We don´t do this by Ferrari or Rolls Roys or Rolex, do we? Don´t say it is too expensive if the real reason is you cannot afford it, different perspective.

I’ve got a 2019 Levo Carbon Comp …. And I’m thinking of giving it to the missus, so she can get back out and join me cycling again (we used to) … why, cos I’m a generous sort of guy 😂😂 and then I’ll buy this new one … ha ha (I don’t think she’ll see through that ?!) … same model … in white etc etc. a lot of money and I’m getting old so excitement opportunities are dwindling, but as the missus said today, about a rello (not me, but I’m allowed to use “man maths” to relate it to me) “you can’t take it with you” … so I might just pull the trigger … cos I can.
Is it excessive? Damn right? Do I need it? Nah. Do I deserve it? Damn right. Shall I buy it ? Hmmm .. maybe. Let me rework the man maths .. 😁

are mudguards extra, and do you need a trailer for the padlocks and chains etc, unless you think when you bought it, you were really just renting it, until someone steals it.
It's not the levo that's stupid powerful.
The SL is a very weak motor.
Well presented but I can’t get interested by a bike so far out of reach that isn’t aspirational.

Nah, but if you don’t like black … or red … or other colours, and like white, then it’s perfect. My motorbike is white, my daily driver is white, my shit box (track car) is white … so this suits perfectly. I know, though different strokes blah blah blah and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But as I seem to like white (I took to it about 13 years ago when I couldn’t order my choice of daily driver config in other than white) then this ones calling my name … would have been good if the cheaper one was white ! Just saying 👍
Would love to price brake down that bike... Google all the bits find the cheapest prices for the parts and your prob left with a 7k frame!!!!
There is a frame only option that includes the shock and cranks for £6.5k
@@singletrack could Prob build a similar spec'd bike with boutique parts for less than 13k then.... There's a comparison bike test story for you... 😁

KTM 890 Adventure R for £11999 or £1000 more for this 🤣😂. You'd have to be mad. Not sure which is more unreliable though, KTM and Specialized seem to be exceptionally good at breaking down...
But the KTM doesn't have pedals?
Mind you Charlie found a submarine on ebay for £8k... but you can't pedal that either and it's rubbish on technical trails
@@singletrack it's still insane money, and that from someone who bought a 3 grand bike back in '98 which would be about 6.5 now with inflation.

So, being 5’6 1/2” and currently on a Medium 2019 Turbo Levo, I was reckoning S3 … and I’m neither looking for “extra slack” or “extra nimble” so figured S3. That make sense?
Lovely looking bike and at last the geo is more to my liking... Whens the "Poor mans" version coming out?
