Been doing a lot of 3*3k at ~90/100/110% threshold (with 20mins easy at each end) and of the three shoes I tried the in, yesterday's session in the V2 has been the one my legs came the least beaten out of.
Really like that shoe and really hope the mint colourway comes to Europe.

Just picked a pair up from the New Balance Factory Shop for £70! can’t wait to try them out
I just bought a pair for my first half Marathon after finding success with the v2. Did some speed work in them yesterday and as a wide footed heavier runner I’m extremely impressed. I would say new balance are more accommodating for my body type and food than anything readily available on the uk market.
me too I am a bodybuilder and runner and I love many new balance models. New Balance, Saucony, and Asics are the best brands. Nike / Adidas are fr hyped way too much, except I will say the Vaporfly 2 is a tremendous shoe.

Ran my first marathon in V2, V3 looks great but I already have metaspeed and endorphin pro 3.

I'm just coming up to the 100 mile mark on the elite v2 and don't have too many complaints. The elite v3 will be on the short list when I come to replace them along with adidas pro 3 and saucony pro 3. Crazy how much choice there is in this shoe type now. Sc3 colours haven't been too inspiring though hopefully that changes.

Looks like a decent shoe. My local New Balance store in Albuquerque New Mexico cannot seem to have these shoes on their radar. In their own words They are not a shoe store where you could buy a pair of sub par shoes .

The new upper is nice ..the midsole is not a step up than the last version..it still goes flat quickly..unfortunately I didn't stock up on last years version..I am hoping the new trainer is more usable for longer runs..
I just ran Chicago in these and BQ’d with a 19:05 buffer. Love this shoe!

I have a marathon coming up in May and I just ordered a pair of these specifically for that. I had been leaning towards the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3, but I found the Elite v3 at a good price. Correct me if I'm wrong about this, it seems from you and other reviewers the New Balance is good for more types of runners especially mid-packers like me. My concern is more with comfort and saving my legs to go the full 26.2 than speed. At least, I hope that's true. Thanks for the review!

340 miles in my V2s. They have been a great shoe. But the V3s ride is so much more refined. For my foot strike and stride, they feel more controlled. It almost feels like cheating. Special shoe.
The updates were really good for v3
IMO, the rubber on the carbon plate was an afterthought and probably came late close to production where lasts were already made. They should have filled the front of the shoe with foam instead of the glued rubber on the plate.
This is basically my lineup! However, I still use the RC Elite 2. The upper of the V3 didn't work for me (could barely get by foot through that tiny opening) and for some reason the toe box felt slightly narrower.

Loosen the laces! The Hoka Rocket 2 has the same issue. You simply have to loosen them up. What is another 5 seconds to spend to prepare for your run?
I got the more v3 and the rebel v3, and the sc elite v3 is a shoe I'm considering. It's between this and the new mizuno shoe that the run testers made a video on.
Assuming you mean the Rebellion Pro, Mizuno has not sent me a pair for review yet.

Love the feel. Anybody have an issue with heel lockdown? I am and have a pretty normal foot.
I love this shoe but have had some ankle roll on uneven ground.
I actually prefer the SC Trainer over the SC Elite 3 for Marathons, I’m not a fast runner so for someone like me running about 3:30 then the SC Trainer suits me better.
Have you run in other FuelCell shoes like the Rebel V2 or V3? That's what I currently run most of my miles in, the FuelCell foam feels so much better on my flat feet.
@@ryanmiskin8925 Yeah I’ve ran in the Elite V1 and V2 and the Rebel V1 and V2 and I’ve also had the TC. I think the SC trainer works so well for me because I’m a heel striker, I think the shape of the plate suits heel strikers. Will probably buy the SC Pacer at some point also.
The SC Trainer felt so much more comfortable than the SC ELITE V3.
Does the weight of the SC trainer get in your way on long runs?
@@eoincasey5461 I bought the SC Pacer but I haven't had the guts to wear it yet...noticeably firmer than the Rebel v2 since it's a lower stack with a plate in there. But I also NEED that cushion...some people don't. I have a pair of 14EE if you happen to be that size.
If I had this shoe, I would keep it to nice flat asphalt 😂 running.

How would you compare this to the marathon shoes from Asics and the Vaporfly?
I was disappointed in the SC ELITE V3. Not a huge fan of the way the laces feel going over the material at the top of the foot. I'd rather get another pair of RC 2 if they were still available.
Which one do you guys prefer? This, or the endorphin pro 3 ? Got a half marathon coming up. I usually just train in the Mach 5s I want to get something a little more speedy

I didn’t like the endo pro 3, I found the sc elite v3 faster but this one running around the store. I do regularly run in adios pro 3 and Rc elite v2 and , for me, both are better than the endo pro 3.
How are your forefoot foam? Mine got really squashed and felt very hard .

Any thought to the pressure on the lateral ankle from the stitching on the inside of the lace loops? It has rubbed my ankle raw and from a few other reviews/comments, I'm seeing I'm not alone. Seems like a serious design flaw from NB.
I've the same issue with the stitching. I hope to get the problem under control with tape or something, otherwise this nice shoes are unfortunately unusable for me.

I had the same issue. I bled through the upper. I otherwise love the shoe, but I’m not sure I’d dare try to run 26.2 in this.
Question. With so many super shoes and so many choices if you could only have one which one would you choose for the marathon and half marathon?
The simplest answer is : they are all good, no one far ahead of the others :)
But then if you want the 0,01% better than the others, it depends of the runner.
For example, I tried this shoes and the saucony pro 3, and saucony one is better for me because I don't like too "squishy" shoes, but others like soft shoes so I would suggest them to use this one and not saucony.
Hi Ko, do you think the 880v13 can be paired with the SC Elite v3 ? The 880v13 will be used for easy pace while the SC Elite v3 will be used for workouts and races.

The first RC elite didn’t help my pronation. Any experience in terms of stability? Likelihood of pushing my pronation?
if RC Elite 1 didn't work for you, this will probably also not work for you

I use the Trainer a lot in my training rotation. Love both shoes! Just ran Chicago in SC Elite 3 and loved them!!!

Doesn’t bottom out and the carbon is a bit more noticeable
EDIT. New Balance sold my 80 year old Mother nearly $400 worth of shoes and inner soles she didn’t need. The “ manager “ informed me that there are “like no “ marathoners in my state and that is why there are no NEW BALANCE MARATHON SHOES in there store.

It’s not that I didn’t think it would happen, but 2 points:
1) I think it shouldn’t happen at all. It’s a design flaw.
2) some people will be annoyed at the visual wear that occurs because of the design flaw

From the New Balance lineup, this is the one I’d pick - the SC Pacer is too minimal for me to race a 10k in it.
Now $140. Mustn’t be selling that well.
pricing is probably the most misunderstood (and oversimplified) aspect of the running industry

Just one thing: please stop saying you were not paid by a shoe company when you receive the shoes from the company to review for free. Those shoes cost money. That said, long may you run and produce useful videos.
But the company is not paying him to make a review. He can do what he wants with the shoes, he’s not obligated under a contract. That’s why he has disclosures.

Why call yourself a non elite runner?
Because I’m not an elite runner. I don’t win races. I don’t get in the elite or sub elites corrals. I’m just a regular guy who runs a lot
230 bucks aint a good buy for ANY running shoe. The tendency where Prices every year gets bumped up are disgusting and super greedy. Honestly if they made them more durable that might justify it. But they don’t almost the opposite. So when you talk about a shoe that is not going to go on sale and you find the price are spot on at 230, you as a influencer contribute to the greediness, think about that :)
Please don’t buy SC elite 3 . It’s horrible compared to nike alphafly. Almost zero pop . Get alphafly . I seriously regretted buying SC elite 3 for the looks .
