    I did around 300km so far on it and my previous was the novablast (twice). I somewhat agree with you on the outsole, but still believe that so far this is the best training shoes I have ever purchased. It prepares you well to do your races on your preferred carbon plated shoes.

    NB is currently my top brand for running shoes. I've tried Asics and Adidas but with NB I have completely no issues, no minor injuries caused by shoes. Currently I use NB Propel v4 for training and elite v3 for speed runs and future running events. My Asics nimbus 25 are currently hidden in my closet for possible future usage.

      My rotation is SC Elite v3 and Nimbus 25, same size but the ASICS destroy my toes. Blisters everywhere, but the v3 fits so nice.

    the newbalance rebel v3 is in my opinion one of the best running shoes all time. i would love to see you review it as it is (presumably based on your description of the v4) lighter and faster than the shoe you reviewed in this video.

      You’ll love the rebel 4s then the weight is negligible tbh

    • @hamoudalnasser
      @hamoudalnasser 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The 4 is lighter than the 3, even with the taller stack. Responsiveness (for me) took a bit longer in this version of the shoe, but once the foam broke in, just such a fun ride. I prefer it to the 3, as I like the ride a little more and it doesn't have the problem with bottoming out that I had with the 3.

    Great review!
    It is the first reivew that doesnt describe this shoe entirely as tempo trainer that I have seen.
    But I will wait for the Supercomp Trainer v3
    I hope this one will be a banger. Then I will get propably 2 pairs. (especially for morning runs I need tons of soft cushion and plush)
    Edid: I think the wear and tear on the outsole is abysmal for 100miles o.o

    • @mottesen_runs
      @mottesen_runs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah the outsole is the one thing really holding this shoe back.
      I enjoy the Supercomp Trainers, I have the 1st version and they have been awesome. So much cushion and stack. Not a bad choice to wait on those.

    I love the 3's and the material is different I hear. The 2 and 3s are crazy good and reliable, the rubber seems to last forever. Run on gravel roads, mountain trail, reg roads and doesn't seem to lose its bounce while cushioned. Scared to buy the 4s bc of the different material lol

      @@jacksonblack7163 @pj8761 Precisely what Jason said. The big super shoes, plated shoes attract far more attention. Look at the number of views, sheer range of reviews. Some TH-camrs have reviewed it, but it still gets less attention than shoes like the Saucony Speed, Puma Velocity Nitro, and all the Race shoes.

    It is kinda funny. The Rebel is generally marketed as a tempo trainer, not a high mileage daily trainer (explains the lack of rubber). But, my Rebel 3, I start by using it as a tempo shoe, then just end up wearing it for everything. My v3 has almost a thousand miles on them so far, despite looking like they would fall apart the day I took them out of the box. Sounds like I may have to buy these. About time to upgrade.

  • @dnashj33
    @dnashj33 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Yeah, agreed on most points. I just bought a pair (being more of a Brooks guy...but I wanted to try something softer, which this definitely is) and straight away, I am REALLY annoyed at the significant lack of rubber outsole coverage under the heel and mid foot. I have never seen a running shoe with so much white Midsole foam exposed under the foot. Talk about cutting corners to save a buck. For the next version, New Balance, slap some (more) rubber on the bottom and perhaps pad the heel a bit more...then, the shoe would be perfect.

  • @Bodhished
    @Bodhished 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I ran in the rebel v2 and went through 2 pairs of rebel v3.
    Today I did first 10k in rebel v4 in wet conditions. Grip was pretty good. Upper is ok but not quite as comfortable as the last version. Didn't find it as bouncy as version 3 but definitely feels more protective and stable.
    Not running as fast as you though so my pace range is from around 3.45 to 5.30 per km.

    I'm looking forward to the SC ELITE TRAINER V3, New Balance is going for that cubic look with all their new running shoes.

  • @hamoudalnasser
    @hamoudalnasser 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great review. I've done 4 runs in mine now, the first two casual mid distance runs, one hill workout run and one faster workout. I liked all the rides, but I've found that the foam has really started breaking in for me. My first couple runs were reminiscent of runs in the Saucony Kinvara, lightweight, not much there underfoot, nimble, but a little harsh. But the foam just really started coming alive for me in those two workout runs. I was worried my legs would feel dead the day after and they actually feel better than they did before the workout.
    I agree that it's probably not the best super hard track workout shoe, but the only shoes that are have track spikes or plates.
    I'm really looking forward to more runs in this shoe. Just a fun shoe, with, I expect, medium durability. 500kish (that's good for such a lightweight, relatively cheap shoe).

    the rebel was never a daily trainer. it was a speed day shoe that has turned into a mainstream walking shoe that feels identical to the 1080 v10 with fresh foam. the v2 and v3 rebel were something special. v4 is a bait and switch

    My HS son ran on this shoe for a month, way less than 100 mi. The bottom is falling off/apart. Always short mileage 7-8 min pace. Not sure he would want to buy 12 pairs a year. I would think you should be able to get 400-500 mi before they started to fall apart?

    • @mottesen_runs
      @mottesen_runs  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that’s crazy it was already falling apart. I have 200 miles on mine now, they are holding up fine. Though the foam is losing some life. I’ll probably wear them up to 300-400 miles

    • @mottesen_runs
      @mottesen_runs  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have only tried the 1080 v12, and they don not feel like those at all IMO. The 1080s are much softer with very little response. They are much more of a a max cushion recovery shoe than the Rebel

    • @hamoudalnasser
      @hamoudalnasser 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nothing like them. I have the 1080s. to me they are the perfect high mileage, slow long run, recovery runner shoe. The Rebels are an entirely different beast; lightweight, nimble, and responsive.
