    40 meters of stack height? That's a very tall stack. 😅

    • @JM-nu2jg
      @JM-nu2jg 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      The V1s had like 50 i think. If not 50, very close to 50. I realized how funnily high it was when I had one shoe on, and my dog took the other pair. So I was basically left to stand and chase him around the house with a shoe on one foot, and just socks on the other. The height was huge
      The V2s are now "normal" compared to the V1s hahaha

    I have both v1 and v2. V1 is really fun, but I think it is exclusively for easy pace and recovery. Great for elder/heavy built or injury prone runners. V2 is different, but I also love it, it's more like a daily trainer and for me is a hundred times better than the Kinvara. Also, I think you need to run much faster in the Superblast (fantastic shoe anyway) than in the v2. 180 dollars is a lot of money, but the quality of materials in the v2 is outstanding.

    I didn’t try the V1, but I have the V2 and I have been enjoying it so far. It took my feet some adjusting to the carbon plate since these are my first carbon plated shoes.

    I've clocked almost 300km on this shoe. It's now my go to shoe. It's worth every penny, it reminds of the alphafly 2, but without having to deal with the midfoot blisters and narrow toe box.

    I’m 6’2, 200 ish pounds. The V1’s are by far my favorite shoe in my line up in terms of versatility. And that knit upper is a thing a beauty.
    The only issue is the rocks that I frequently have to pry out, which looks like they may have fixed on the V2’s.

    I love this V2 more than V1. I think it’s because it’s a little more squishy, more stable than V1. I felt this model, I can feel more of the return of energy and bounce.

    This is one of those tricky colorways that looks white on a screen, but in hand, it's definitely blue... but I like it! New Balance has been my brand of choice this year, pairing with the Rebel v3.

    SC Trainer V1 had fun and breathable upper but it was incredibly uncomfortable around ankle near where the lacing starts. The padding ended just before the tongue and that part bit into the ankle. Wanted to love it but it was not meant to be.

    This is going to sound a little ridiculous, but my only complaint with the v2 is picking out the roadside rocks that get lodged in the channel. Occasionally, I’ve had a Princess and the pea moment where the cushiness is so great, I didn’t realize I had a stowaway rock until I got home. 😁

    • @kofuzi

    I love the V1, but have retired it now at 306 km. All responsiveness of the midsole is gone. But guess thats normal lifespan of the most supercritical foams so far. Whats interesting is that my pair shows very little wear. So the shoe outlives the midsole. Curious of the V2, but snagged a Prime X 2 with 35% coupon at Adidas. Couldnt resist!

    I still don't understand the need for carbon fiber in a training shoe. Slap a nylon plate in it if you must al la Endorphin Speed and save the carbon for race day. Although... lowering the stack height to 40mm _does_ make it street legal now. 🤔Congrats on finding a shoe that makes you happy even before the magic version three.

I use the More v4 for LSD and Rebel v3 as a daily for shorter stuff as well as intervals - Rebel's just the best for that. How durable do you find the new "super trainers"? I can take a pair of NB 880 or Novablast to 500-600 miles. Can the SuperComp make it to 500, or will the foam break down like a racing shoe?
    I have the SC v1 now and love it. Its been my tempo day shoe for my marathon training this summer. I'm debating if I should pick up a second pair of V1 for next year. As a larger (195), older (52), heel striker, I credit the super tall, super soft V1 for taking care of my legs this season.

      @kofuzi  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are very different. You make it sound like different plate materials is a small thing. But that, in and of itself makes for a very significant difference in how the shoes feel.
      Also, keep in mind that many brands will use the same marketing term for their foams across a variety of shoes, but the exact formulation of the foams may vary.
      Also, different stack heights of identical foams will result in different experience, which is the case here. As is the case with the difference in plate position across the two shoes.

    I'm worried that they made the SC Trainer V2s too much of a different ride experience compared to the V1.
    The V1 was a very tall and chunky boi that was surprisingly stable and has just enough pop to be taken on faster paces. From this review, it seems like they made the V2s less "niched-down", aka the sequel being more versatile than the predecessor. I'm worried it starts feeling like any other super trainer in the market instead of it being its own unique thing like what New Balance did with V1.
    Nevertheless, I never buy shoes when it's not on sale lol. See you in 6 months SC Trainer v2s

      I can’t think of a shoe that I would want to have for two to three years. Some people don’t keep a car for that long.
      But key words I would listen for in reviews would be “work horse”

      key words I would listen for in a review, or words that I would type into my search bar would be, "work horse"
      also, work horse shoes tend not to be fun shoes.
      durability and fun tend to exist in tension.

    I wish New Balance would stop writing their full name as large as they did on this shoe. It's overkill with the branding and has never looked good.

    This shoe was on my list but after seeing the reviews I decided not the get it. Seems like downgraded version of Boston 12 and Endorphin Speed where you get minumum energy return and mediocre bounce.

      They overlap but the key workouts I'd define each by are these: the Deviate Nitro 2 I'd use for threshold repeats. The SC Trainer 2 I'd use for long runs with marathon effort miles.
      so it depends on what you need.
