Just sharing for those interested as I believe many have similar concerns as mine....biggest drawback(s) i come across is folks complaining that it is rather slippery in the wet, and perhaps that it is just AHAR outsole and not tAHAR+. We do get a fair number of rainy days here (it's actually raining now) and was my concern. Bought the TR and am glad to share that there are no issues cornering 90 deg in ~ 3m radius @ 10kmh, on wet outdoor tiles, tried many times already like around 100+ corners due to usual place that i usually run at. The thicker AHAR outsole also makes it a good value shoe for the mileage that you can squeeze out of it (i got it at usd 120). Also, my wife and I could not feel any weight difference between the 2 with holding both versions in our hands at the same time in the store. With that said, i don't run on mud and it probably is not a serious trail shoe. Not a pro runner too.
I definitely have to try this one out next. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism I truly appreciate it and love watching. Always Love, Brother Christopher. Peace☮️Love❤️&Happiness😃
I have still yet to get a pair of Novablasts after multiple years of praise from most reviewers. Digging my NB SC Trainers right now...should make the move though at some point
I've always looked forward to your reviews of shoes before getting one. This review definitely helps me. Went to my running shoes store and tried it out and first feel was great, fit was nice and snug. Will go for my first run later. Hopefully will be as good as how it felt during the fitting.
Very nice, informative review (as always)! I love the Novablast and subsequently purchased multiple pairs to stagger alternate. I have got one pair that needs to be replaced (~500 miles)......and this latest version is going to be the lucky shoe.
I’m new to running and running everyday/ every other day. As a novice who’s never ran before and trying to running 5 miles a week or more is it necessary to stagger shoes
I'm really excited for these. I have two pairs of the Novablast 2, and I like them a lot. I'll be looking for the 3s when they wear out. Also love the Team Struggle Run shirt. I'm a big fan of Mrs Space Cadet.
Update: I pulled the trigger Ko after all and put the Novoblast 3 on pre-order, I just love the V2 so much. I have decided to make this my marathon shoe choice for my Long Beach Marathon since their is a lot of cement surface. I am choosing comfort over my plated shoes this time around. Thanks for your enthusiasm expressed in this video.
Considering that we’re only at august 1st and that the NB3 is releasing soon, I’m going to take your advice and consider the bias in this review. Still looking forwards to trying them out though!
after many brands...i recently discovered asics lol, my feet finally stopped hurting omg. i will stay loyal to this brand. i bought 2 nimbus 23 last december and nimbus 24 feb. i will buy this one once its out.
Ran in the Novablast 2 last year. It lasted 500 miles for me and still felt like it had life. I've had great success with Asics shoes lasting for many miles. The Noosa Tri 13 got to 425 miles and I'm at 400 miles in the Fuji Lite 2 with next to no wear on the outsole. Can't wait for the Novablast 3 to come out. It's going to be my shoe when I begin training for my spring marathon.
Only critique if you want to call it that is upon first wearing. The shoe has a slight tilt forward and feels like it wants to go at a decent pace. Like it wants to go faster. Can’t go wrong with ASICS. Gel Kayano is my all rounder go to. NovaBlast is a pleasant more cushioned ride.
I'm curious to compare with the Novablast 2. As everyone is different, the Novablast 2 does not work with me. Bad fit, a crushed sole at the front, a heel that was too thick, I tried running 10 times with it and no results, except quadriceps pain.
I run 10miles+ everyday, usually switching between two active shoes in one given period. Novablast 3 is just so nice that I have to resist to get them on everyday, otherwise my other pair will stay unused forever. Ones I compare is Clifton 8, adizero, fresh foam 880 / 1280 ...
Hi kofuzi, I have been waiting for this review since new model images leaked on internet, it great to confirm it still is a great running shoes, I can’t wait to watch the review on the new magic speed, so I can make a choice between novablast3 or the magic speed 2 for my next shoe investment, 👍
Novablast 1 was really good - I had mine for over 1200km and I used it for everything. As I was about to retire the first pair and wanted to get a second - dam it was out of stock in my country. Got another pair from Amazon but weirdly they didn't feel the same like my first. Then I got the Novablast 2 from the retail store and it was disappointing for me. It felt so heavy (+20g) and stiff. The heel grip was better but added plush which felt very warm in the hot and humid climate. I could use Novablast 1 for all types of runs (easy, speed, long) but not the Novablast 2 which I only use for my easy runs now. Novablast 2 LE (light edition) was recently released so I am undecided between 2 LE or 3 now.
To follow on from my post yesterday... With the 9.5 being far too big in the toe box, I received the size 9 today. Perfect fit. The toe box is now fitted and hasn't got that inch plus gap to the front from toes and no longer feels like my toes and front foot are in a tent. As I'm going from years of just using the Adidas boost range, I'm planning on just walking in the NB3 till I get used to the added height at the front and different foot motion. The Ultraboost 20 is like a slope from back to front and don't have much of that 'rocking' motion. I did a 6k walk earlier and the change in motion targeted muscles in my upper calf and lower thigh, that the Boost didn't. The Endorphin S2 did similar rocking and I ended up injured by rushing into long runs too soon. The NB3 sole is slightly comfier and lighter feeling than the Boost and FAR more bouncier and responsive than the Saucony ES2 foam. Once I run in them I'll get back with feedback. I have noticed even by my first walk that they may struggle in wet or icy conditions. A lot of comments note this. Whether the NB3 will be an effective winter shoe is going to be interesting?!
Sadly the 9.5 I had were black, but the 9 are the orange/black. The black are nicer and less showy... You can't help but notice the huge, bright sole of the yellow gleaming back at you every stride... Some might be a little self conscious lol... You probably didn't need me to explain this tho lol
As a Novablast V1 owner that had to stop using the shoe due to stability reasons, after transitioning to a standing desk for 2 months, I took the Novablast V1 (400+ KM) out for a few recent runs and even my 20KM long run this past weekend and it wasn't the shoe. It was me. Transitioning from sitting all day to standing has been the #1 improvement for my running health. Hip flexor issues gone, sporactic ITband flare ups gone, strength and stability in the lower leg chain seem night and day to a few months ago. Really looking for ward to snagging a pair of Novablast V3 in the fall to eat through daily miles.
I'm still using first version. I bought 2 pairs of the black / orange which look absolutely beautiful and one of the sets still hasn't been taken out of the box.
Live in Bangkok, bought discounted Novablast 3 for $70ish a couple of weeks ago. Little bit tight, other than that excellent. Almost as good as the Mach 5.
Great review. I’ve just retired my Novablast 2s after 1025kms. The upper and the ankle collar has had enough lol. Only this and Endorphin Speeds have been able to take this level of kms for me. Definitely picking up the 3s when they come out next month. In the meantime, I may have to train in my dedicated race shoes, or just tack on a few more kms, though the midsole has definitely fallen off from new. AHAR outsole though, is insanely durable!
Nice. My first pair is still going strong, and I have 2 more waiting to be unleashed. Looks like it’ll be a while before I get my hands on the version 3.
Hi Mike, since the FFBlast came out, i been in love with it, Novablast 1 has been my long run shoe for quite a while and with almost 1000km on them they still hold very well. I got the Novabalst 2 at a great price deal a week ago and been walking with them on road for the break in. As a coment on the trampoline area you had, i run only/very majorly on roads (asphalt) and the foam arround that area gets like yours, even the Novablast 2 that is new and only walked and few strides shows more signals of worn on that area, on the rest the FFblast looks like new.
Was confused, Pegasus 39 OR Novablast 3, 39 is rigid but not colorful. One thing which I can't take out of my mind is COLOR & GRACE. Going for Nova 3. Thanks, man for your honest review especially your disclosure ;-)

After doing three short 5-6k runs with the NB3, I'd recommend them for slower runs and anyone struggling/recovering with knee or calf injuries or anyone who just wants to get short runs out of the way for fitness. As discussed below, the grip is borderline pathetic on the NB3 tho, even on slightly damp surface. It's an injury waiting to happen on wet ground and I wouldn't even attempt icy winter surface. I don't think these have been designed with winter in mind. They are super light, but uphill they feel very clumsy due to their height and I felt myself struggling a wee bit with my stride lift. They are a comfy run tho, on a flat surface you can go quick enough if you want to speed up. The foam does what you'd expect for response. I've had all the Adidas Energy Boost and Ultraboost shoes and I'd prefer the NB3 fur running over every version up until the 22. The Ultraboost 22 is slightly heavier in hand, but when running they are more secure and feel lighter than the NB3 and even know tho the Adidas foam is firmer in comparison to the Asics foam and not stacked as high, the Adidas foam feels the more controlled run both slow and especially fast. The 22 feels the more "technical". It's far more sock like then the NB3. Size wise as I've discussed, the NB3 is the only shoe I've ever had to step down a half size in. I'm a 9.5 in Adidas, puma, Nike and Saucony running shoes. The NB3 in a 9.5 were insanely long at the toe. The 9 is fine. Lastly, I'd take the Adidas or ASICS foam over the Saucony every time. The Saucony looks similar to the Adidas, but is FAR firmer.
@@kofuzi You really need to be less arrogant and more open to other people's opinions. People are good enough to watch your content and make comments, yet anything that goes against your opinion and experience you're very quick to judge and talk down. I like the UB22 better and feel it's the better shoe.... Don't think that deserved a childish reply. The 2 are fantastic so don't worry about the 3 yet. 👍
@@gbaker125 they’ve been on discount on Asics w3bs1te for a long time mate so most are out of stock but you can check
@@danneh8777 Ah you must not be in the US, they aren't discounted on any site that I've seen
@@gbaker125 yeah I'm in Australia. Bought them for $169 AUD, which sounds expensive but considering conversion rates and the fact that everything is expensive in Australia, it's not too bad.
Idk if anyone noticed, but the general quality of the videos has gone up quite significantly. Choice of music, shots, editing, voice recording quality and general cinematography. Kudos if you’re still doing all of it yourself!!
I have been taking the time to make fewer videos per week. thank you for the feedback
I am really looking forward to the Novablast 3. I just need to wear out a couple of pairs of other shoes first 😂
same "problem" here🙈😅
I usually tell my wife, "oh look I've already run 300 miles in this pair, time to buy a new one!"
Take my money, ASICS!! Can’t wait to get these. Thanks for the update, Mike!
I'm looking forward to this release!
Makes me more excited to have it on my rotation. Awesome review. Thanks
I've always looked forward to your reviews of shoes before getting one. This review definitely helps me. Went to my running shoes store and tried it out and first feel was great, fit was nice and snug. Will go for my first run later. Hopefully will be as good as how it felt during the fitting.
hope you love them!
I am so excited for this shoe. My Novablast 1 are still holding up fine and therefore skipped the 2s. Awesome video. Can’t wait to pick this one up!
Wow. Just to think that our brave, forefather pioneers used to wear those babies for miles across mountains and seas.
Such majestic shoes!
Wow. It's only August 1… shoe of they year already?🎤drop. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥🔥🔥
I gave the first Next % that title in April or May of that year
Glad to pick this shoe, seeing some great reviews from yt. I have no regrets buying it 😁
Just bought a pair online. Can't wait for them to arrive!
I'm really excited for these. I have two pairs of the Novablast 2, and I like them a lot. I'll be looking for the 3s when they wear out.
Also love the Team Struggle Run shirt. I'm a big fan of Mrs Space Cadet.
Just got the platinum version and im in love. The colourway is also fantastic
this means a lot coming from the Dragon Reborn!
@@xvandamagex lots of running to do in randland might as well somthing good while fighting the Dark one😎
How did they work out for you?
Sounds like this is “The Real MVP!” Great review 🤜🏾🤛🏻
Great to see you on Fordy Runs 👍
Considering that we’re only at august 1st and that the NB3 is releasing soon, I’m going to take your advice and consider the bias in this review. Still looking forwards to trying them out though!
I really can't wait for this shoe! I just put 300 miles on my Novablast 2 today. And it still feels great.
I just ordered for 95$, all black. Im excited to try them and the price i guess was superb ! Cheers
oooh, nice deal
after many brands...i recently discovered asics lol, my feet finally stopped hurting omg. i will stay loyal to this brand. i bought 2 nimbus 23 last december and nimbus 24 feb. i will buy this one once its out.
I believe you...and do not even need to watch but ...will do so~ Enjoyed the video.
i have them and i like them very much. only problem is with wet road. besides that, fantastic.
After this review, I'm %100 going to buy this shoe when it releases.
Do it
I have been savings for this... Love my novablast 2, cant wait for this
Your channel really helps me a lot
Glad to hear it!
Great review! Looking to buy this one!
Great review and insight. I will try these out.
wow loved the Novablast 2, i think 3 will be even better!
I want this shoe so bad. That orange colour way is just straight up 🔥🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
black and white one looks good too
@@orion5813 in all fairness that design will look good with almost any colour they put on it.
I was waiting for this review since last 3 months... Finally... 😀
I hope it was worth the wait
Yes, I always consider your thought and make my perception.
Also you are working with Asics is amazing...
I'm curious to compare with the Novablast 2. As everyone is different, the Novablast 2 does not work with me. Bad fit, a crushed sole at the front, a heel that was too thick, I tried running 10 times with it and no results, except quadriceps pain.
Same here, except I gave up after the second run. I'm tempted to try this version, but I really disliked running in version 2.
Wow‼️‼️✌🏼 Nice to see ASICS pULL out a major PRODUCT WIN‼️
just ordered a pair on sale for 70$ can’t wait to see how they perform !!
Have fun!
With that Fi-yah color way……how could it NOT be? Can’t wait to cop’em!
Needs more reviews but so far sounds good. Hopefully ver1 is back with even more bounce
Loved the Novablast 2... can't wait for the 3.
Greatest review ever. It make me want to buy Novablast 3.
If my feet are 26cm, do in need to buy 26cm or 26.5cm Novablast 3?
I wear 26.5cm Rebel V3.
Take my money now ASICS! Can’t wait!
Just ordered a pair. I’ll weave them in with my Saucony Endorphin Speed 2, Endorphin Pro 3 and ASICS Gel-Kayano 29
Shoe of the Year? I concur!
Why
All right, you got me. Just ordered a pair.
I'm still using first version. I bought 2 pairs of the black / orange which look absolutely beautiful and one of the sets still hasn't been taken out of the box.
bold statement 🙌 I'll definitely buy it
Live in Bangkok, bought discounted Novablast 3 for $70ish a couple of weeks ago. Little bit tight, other than that excellent. Almost as good as the Mach 5.
great price!
that was a VERY serious run! also, a review after 100 miles? its like you've actually used them. 😆
How does this compare to the New Balance 1080 in terms of being good for running and working out? Love your videos thanks
@Matt Rigg I edited those thank you, by scratch I mean the worn the road causes on the foam arround the rubber isle aka trampoline area
I'm so jealous with people with neutral foot, you guys got to wear a lot of cool shoes.
Was confused, Pegasus 39 OR Novablast 3, 39 is rigid but not colorful. One thing which I can't take out of my mind is COLOR & GRACE.
Going for Nova 3. Thanks, man for your honest review especially your disclosure ;-)
hii kofuzi i started watching u but a month or 2 ago and u r the reason why i got into running idk why whenevr i saw u run it just made me feel joyed anyways i got the novablast 2s for 82 bucks unfortunatly i cant get the novablast 3s casue they r too expensive and i m only 16 so yeah any other recommendations as a new runner for the shoes or anything pls let me know since ur my inspiration for running
I’d say that the Novablast 2 at $82 is a great deal. For people looking for bargains, I always recommend looking at last year’s flagship shoes
@@kofuzi thanks a lot sir
No bias detected 😊 Safe to say it's a damn good shoe 🌞
The Saucony looks similar to the Adidas, but is FAR firmer.
so to summarize, you'd pick the UB22 over the NB3? ok.
I mentioned in another comment that I thought the grip was poor on the Novablast 3 in wet conditions and you jumped down on that one too like I was just being spiteful and regurgitating opinions I read elsewhere. People spend a lot of money on running shoes and want to find the right pair, if you don't want people interacting with your content and giving opinions different to yours then put a disclaimer up at the start of your videos.
I absolutely cannot wait to purchase a pair! Great video Sir!
This one is a definite purchase. Appreciate the early, thorough review! On another note, my wife wants to know when the shirt you're wearing will be available in the store. We're ready to buy two immediately lol.
Edit: I see where to get the shirt and that you don't sell them, but someone else does. Noted!
I got the nimbus 24s earlier this year but the positive reviews on the novablast 3 are too hard to ignore
Kofuzi is Jamison Michael ok?
went to look try on the Novablast 3s at local store after seeing they had a 20% discount.. only to find out they were actually 50% off!
Tried them on and fell in love immediately. I still tried on some other options but none of them felt as fun and responsive. Also really conformed to my foot shape, while most shoes are too narrow for me. Only clocked one speed run so far but that felt like heaven!
glad to hear you got such a great price and a great experience
which country are u in? i really envy you:(
Is the upper the same as the 2 ? i had major heel rubbing and the laces have to be tightned down so tight for me.
