I also hooked it up to my hotels free wifi, and it also worked fine. I was able to play COD Zombies with my wife, and we had no trouble. I am glad I bought it. Your ISP connection doesn't matter in terms of connecting to the Portal, but if your local wifi is spotty, you're going to have a bad time. I recommend connecting the PS5 directly (cabled) to your network, and then make sure your wifi isn't incredibly congested. The 5Ghz band is absolutely a must and make sure to either have automatic channel adjustment enabled, or set it to something less used. If you live in an apartment building, you're almost certainly screwed.
Preordered when it was available and today, still no complaints from my son. I tried talking him into upgrading from the 5 to the pro. He was like dad, save your money for now 😂

This is great news so I just purchased this for my daughter and was starting to worry it comes with 24months playstation plus extra now is that the cloud gaming or is this something else ?
Got this as an early Christmas present as weve been away from home for a few days ajd this was perfect easy to set up and plays really smooth with near enough no delay unless connection dropped. Home wifi is about 100mbps and the wifi where i was staying was 22mbps
I got a free one through my company employee perk benefits. I was going to sell it or give it away but I may keep it now. I have the Legion Go but I do miss playing some of the PS exclusives. Thank you!
One heads up: not all games you can stream on the ps5 itself can be streamed to the device. Im not referring to the cloud selection specifically. Meaning premium will not allow you to play all those old classics on this thing.
@@chummertb I don't think there is a way to download that locally though, at least not the PS3 titles. Most of them are just available for stream and you can't mirror that on the Portal. At least not yet
Great video. I completely agree with you about using it in bed at night when it’s quiet. That rumble noise is annoying. But overall, I enjoy it very much. Although as much as I like to sit on my back porch and play my switch. I can’t with the portal. The screen is terrible in sunlight.
Good point! There’s moments in my recording where the glare gets bad too. It doesn’t do well in the sun I turned vibration off lol I wasn’t trying to wake anyone up. It’s obnoxiously loud
I think the cloud streaming is Waaay better than connecting direct to console. On the one hand I get more game options that I know I want to play with console but the experience is lack even when I’m hardwired I’ve still gotten more lag issues than just the cloud beta.
@@fudeezyy yea, i totally understand that. I hadn’t played Dying light 2 and it’s pretty much had me in a chokehold on my portal also getting into the Witcher 3 for first time so I’ve got a lot of content to catch up on
Awesome review! Just picked one up and swapped the shell for a spiderman themed one from amazon looks amazing. Tried playing it tonight, and I dont know it looks good, but then I notice weird resolution drops now and again
I gotta check out the shell swaps 👀 Definitely see if you can plug in the PlayStation 5 in any way. I got mine plugged into the Amazon eero and it helped so much
Your rational is exactly what I did. 2 months ago traded my fat ps5 in when the price was high. Got a slim ps5 on black friday deal and looking forward to getting the portal. Justified this instead of getting the ps5 pro.
I have been loving my Playstation portal since the new update came which is 4.0.1 and Cloud streaming is beautiful now even if you have a Playstation 5 system. So I been play for three weeks now since getting the Playstation portal and I got to say it just got better and I am still hoping that things would get better in the future especially when it comes to Bluetooth and more game improvements. Thank You RONLEY
When i first got it over a month ago I was kinda thinking i made a impulsive buy. But now, in recent weeks, I have been using it more then my actual PS5. Its great to be able to play all my games in a different rooms. It comes in handy more then you think. Just make sure to be around solid wifi for it to work properly
I find the Portal Runs SO much better now that I upgraded to the PS5 Pro!! The latency and freezing has all but gone away now that I stream from my Pro.
I got mine the Christmas it came out. My wifi is stable but not incredible, 50 mb consistent with very low ping, my ps5 is not hardwired into the router cause they’re so far apart. And as you’d expect, most of the time it was unplayable, but seemed to have issues that many many people were having regardless of their WiFi speed. Since the most recent update. I’ve not had a single problem, no Framerate or resolution drops, even while my partner is streaming Netflix etc. The cloud streaming is fantastic and again, runs very smoothly. Went from something I could barely play to one of my favourite things.
Most people have great download speed but abysmal upload speed. I have Frontier for this reason, it’s the only provider where upload matches download speed. Haven’t had a single issue with the Portal from day one
Hardwire is the only way to go. 26yrs as a Network Engineer best I can tell you is that anything that requires a solid steady connection always, always, always hardwire them. The reason you dont see 1gb dl speeds is because you are using a wifi... you can only go as fast as the wifi will allow. Hardwire a laptop and run tests you will see a total difference.
Excellent review, thinking of getting a portal. Do you think the cloud streaming would work if I tethered my phone to it for the WiFi? many thanks in advance.
Well, my PS5 is hardwired and my wifi is super fast but playing on the portal is just a torture for me, I've had to just drop it somewhere in the house because it makes me mad just how much lagging I experience and I got mine after the cloud streaming update was live.
@fudeezyy Hey, I've tried a couple of games on it, and I've tried both remote play and cloud streaming, it's the same for me. Perhaps it's defective. I guess I'll take it back and listen to what they'll tell me
I recently bought a WiFi extender/ booster I believe it’s the nighthawk & changed the way I play a lot. There no more lagging out problems and very stable connection. Download speed it’s around 500mpbs and uploads speed is around 100, it’s incredible really because this is all off of my wifi extender not even connected thru a lan cable to it and it’s insane really!!!
You have to upgrade the modem. This was my PROBLEM FOR 3 years. Return or sell the eero and invest in the Netgear orbi system But make sure it's the modem/router orbi. This covers my entire property now avg download 550-780. I too pay for 1gb I only get that inside in the same room though.
That’s amazing. I got 30 yesterday and reset it all. Now it’s back to like 300 connected to the eero. My modem router is from my isp. You’re saying ditch it and get my own modem/router?
Pretty good review on spot of the pros and cons. I’m loving mine. I bought it later because I was iffy about it as well. Didn’t see the value in it but now I can’t put it down. I’m playing on the beta stream and used it while I was waiting for my car to get serviced, which went well. Only thing I don’t like is that you can’t use the media like you can on your PlayStation you can’t watch TH-cam Disney or anything like that which I know they’re able to do if enough people complain about it and purchase more of the portals. ❌❌💯
Have you tried remote playing from a different network? I mainly wanted one for travelling but feel like the wifi connection problems are only going to get worse from a remote location. Possibly if you had the ps5 hardwired to the router and also had a good wifi connection at the remote location but if there was any input delay that rules out so many games from being playable.
I remember my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and honestly didn’t know what I wanted. Didn’t care much for the Portal at first until one day… I sat down on the couch with my wife in her phone on the other end and made the announcement that I was going to play my game. She sighed… I said what? She said… I was going to watch my show. At that moment, the Portal became the most desired gift I wanted for Christmas. Now, I’m glad I have it. Great purchase if you’re married for sure. Got kids but they’re always in their rooms. 😂
I wanted to like the portal when it first came out, but it kept disconnecting from my ps5 even though I have a strong wifi connection. But if things get better I'll gladly get it again.
If you're paying for a gig, you should be getting at least 700 download on your ps5 speed test if hardwired. No less than 500 if on wifi in the same room with the router. My set up is modem to router, router to pc/ps5/xbox. Invest in long ethernet cables and cleanly getting them installed along the corner of the floor and the wall of needed. I have run a 75 foot ethernet cable from the garage to my room on the second floor before and it was worth it over wifi all day.
That’s the plan! I’ve seen Ethernet outlets I can hook up that will let me hardwire in. My modem direct gives the 1 gig but Eero meshes are giving like 1/4 of that
@ gotcha. To my understanding, each additional connection is gunna hit the speed a bit. Including the wall ports and especially additional devices like those meshes
@@fudeezyy if by switch board you're referring to the box where u run the ethernet to and it spits out to multiple other ethernet ports, then yes. That's similar to what I had b4 when I ran the long wire to the second floor but it worked fine. For reference, my current set up has the modem to the router but my router has multiple ports built in. I guess you could say it has a switch board built Into it. Some one more educated than me might know the technical term but but basically that's it. From what I remember you described, if these "meshes" are like wifi extenders, with ethernet ports to hardwire to, your still gunna be limited to how much speed the mesh itself is only getting from the wifi that it's extending.
@kenabi_San got you! Makes sense how the 2 eeros cut up the WiFi speed so no way I can get anywhere near 1 gig on that since it’s on wifi and not wired
I bought it day one but felt at the time i could play on my 📱 i kept it through and recently got it out wirh the update for cloud streaming omg i love ❤️ it more now glad i kept it.
I said since day 1 releasing this as a Remote Play ONLY device was their biggest mistake because remote play only works well if your PS5 is hard wired and most people are on wifi. Cloud streaming was always the endgame with this device, and I think it makes the Portal an automatic must buy now. Cloud streaming works much better than remote play even with decently fast internet speeds, and once they add more of the games I actually play (ahem, Horizon), I will be using the Portal A LOT more.
I've been looking to get a handheld device. Have a switch lite but feels to small for me. Haven't bought a ps5 yet because I feel I won't play it as much. But this sounds pretty cool to just cloud stream when I want to play. What's the battery life like?
Have you tried Path of Exile 2 on it? Kinda thinking grinding out poe2 on the dadstation portal would be great. I’m like you and bought a mesh system. Desk job as well and I think this thing was designed for me. Great way to escape the in laws for a while also.
Just picked up an anniversary one! I have an oled deck and it's my favorite device ever because I can stream everything and emulate everything with little to no issue. But I noticed I've been really not playing on my ps5 because I miss on a lot of the dual sense functionalities with chiaki. Can't wait to get it and play dust off my ps5. (I basically can only play handheld or PC nowadays)
I practically beat ff7 remake on chiaki. How do you like the oled? I’ve been meaning to upgrade mine but worried the second I do they drop Steamdeck 2 😂 I’ve doubled my ps5 playtime now with the portal. Glad you scored the anniversary edition 🙏🏻
I’m looking to get the PlayStation Portal for when I travel out of state, I have wired connection to my PS from my router/motem via LAN line. Hopefully if I get one and travel out of state it will work decently with COD
One more question, how hard is it to connect to the ps5, and say you are in a hotel, would it be easy to connect, and does it need good connection to work properly or not? That’s my question. Also thanks for the vid !
As long as the hotel’s WiFi is good you should be fine. I haven’t tried it but there’s a ton of people in the comments for this vid telling me they’ve played in other states and even on their hotspot from their phone No worries, thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
would recommend getting more ero devices to make the mesh stronger, you can have a few and ensure you have one in the room you want to play in. you should have an eero direct into the main router and having the network be totally eero, compared to eero + other internet device
Had the same issues with my portal. I have google fiber 1 gb and was using the google mesh wifi routers. I had 4 routers and still had a ton of issues. I bought a 2 pack of the TP link deco 6e routers and all my problems went away. I get almost a gig down and up over wifi now. Highly recommend getting the tplink routers
Can't add a screenshot here but I just ran a speed test I hit just over 700 on wifi. I'm always working from home and watching TH-cam on a tablet lol. The tp link changed everything for me.
As a frequent traveler, this device is highly recommended and I love it to the max, yes it has its downsides but tell which device so far doesn’t have any??? I can literally play ps5 anywhere as long as I have decent connection
After a month I returned my portal and got a steam deck and a rog Ally... I can remote play cloud stream and natively play games from both devices to my PS5.. The portal is dope because it has the proprietary dual sense buttons and functions, but ultimately was a little bit of workarounds. The same can be achieved on other handhelds and also have more portability because they don't rely solely on Wi-Fi
I agree it’s great for me. And I only got it for the bed room. Cause I don’t always want to be in my game room. Specially after work… currently playing RE3 and man it is fun. Actually going through that game putting hrs in it. I’ll go back and play RE1 & 2 after I’m done. I’m 44 married with kids. Been gaming my since I was like 6. I love it.
I just got it and no regrets at all. Im no stranger to remote play as ive been doing it with my iphone and the gamevice flex controller and the portal makes the remote play experience so so much better. Cant play cod multiplayer coz of the latency but zombies is fine. And story games on the portal is perfect. Idk if its just me but the latency feels better on the portal than on phone when playing fc25 division rivals. Overwatch 2 feels great too just like playing on the ps5 itself.
I gotta try out zombies for sure! I was using Chiaki on the deck and saved myself $200 but I just like the experience more on the Portal. That damn screen is just nice
There is one game I seen on that library of games on the cloud and it got me excited. Well lot of games on there look great but I see Skyrim. A game that I couldn't get into much cause that game really takes up alot of time cause of the length of the story. Never could get into it cause of the time you need to put into it. And as you said. Someone could be watching tv so you can't play the games. I know skyrim was on nintendo switch but I really didn't want to buy a game just to play on a portable device. But seen it on the portal. I was like now this is doable. I just ordered mine 2 days ago cause I wanted it cause of that reason. My brothers has a PS5.. always on it and in another room. I got games on there I want to play but can't but now I can. I just need to worry about hard wiring the PS5 to my router and go from there but now I can play the PS5 without having to be in same room while he's sleeping or watching tv. This is a perfect situation for the PS Portal. Can't wait for it. I get mine on the 8th. So got a few days to go. Thank you so much for an honest review. I watched so many of em and yours made more sense then off of them. Also I have decided to Sub as well.
Thank you for subbing! Glad it was able to help! I’ve got hundreds of hours in Skyrim lol you’re in for a treat. Also, it’s still a beta so it can only get better from here hopefully If you’re into that definitely play fallout and I really recommend Bloodborne and Control
@@fudeezyy Thank you. I attend to utilize the device and test all the games that look decent. Love the fact the Dredge is on there. Another good game from what I seen on youtube.

@EM96FL installing local can get around this sometimes I've found, but it sucks to have to use the hard drive when the game could just be streamed.
@@chummertb I don't think there is a way to download that locally though, at least not the PS3 titles. Most of them are just available for stream and you can't mirror that on the Portal. At least not yet
1) Can you use the portal as PlayStation streaming when you travel ?
2) Does cloud streaming include your savings or you have to start for 0 ?
Yes if you’ve got good WiFi! Also yes saves carry over
@@fudeezyy Oh great thanks for your help ✌️
Great video. I completely agree with you about using it in bed at night when it’s quiet. That rumble noise is annoying. But overall, I enjoy it very much. Although as much as I like to sit on my back porch and play my switch. I can’t with the portal. The screen is terrible in sunlight.
Good point! There’s moments in my recording where the glare gets bad too. It doesn’t do well in the sun
I turned vibration off lol I wasn’t trying to wake anyone up. It’s obnoxiously loud
I turned vibration off and all additional lights
@@aeneas116116 that’s probably what I will do.
The portal supports up to Wifi 5 so making sure you're close to the router or an extender to improve the experience.
I wasn’t far from the mesh but it probably was too many splits to be stable
I got all of the 30th Anniversary stuff yesterday! The Pro, Portal and controller!
Clutch! Let me know if you like the Pro
Ok no need to brag
@@TheVoyagers.no , he deserves it. Let the man brag lmao
@@TheVoyagers. You sound poor. Who cares what someone buys?
Great content bro! Love the honest thoughts on the portal and sharing your struggles
Thanks for the feedback! 🙏🏻
Plugging into the mesh system fixed it but I still want my 1 gig I’m paying for 😂
As a dad of 4 in alaska 😢 it's beautiful i have 2tb worth of memory on the ps5. I really wanted the 30th addition that's one gorgeous machine brother
Hoping they restock and you can get one! I definitely gotta upgrade my memory now that I can play more lol
Split your network into 2: 5ghz and 2.4 ghz. Connect both ps devices to 5ghz
I think the cloud streaming is Waaay better than connecting direct to console. On the one hand I get more game options that I know I want to play with console but the experience is lack even when I’m hardwired I’ve still gotten more lag issues than just the cloud beta.
For a beta it’s really nice and smooth. My only issue was I played so many of those games lol
@@fudeezyy yea, i totally understand that. I hadn’t played Dying light 2 and it’s pretty much had me in a chokehold on my portal also getting into the Witcher 3 for first time so I’ve got a lot of content to catch up on
Jealous! I wish I could play Witcher 3 again for the first time
Love my portal. Use it all the time. I swear there has been an update recently as the thing is just buttery smooth now.
I can’t wait to remote play Monster Hunter and GTA to it 👀
Why is the game quality so bad with me, bought one today
Is your PlayStation plugged in to a router? That fixed so much for me
Awesome review! Just picked one up and swapped the shell for a spiderman themed one from amazon looks amazing. Tried playing it tonight, and I dont know it looks good, but then I notice weird resolution drops now and again
I gotta check out the shell swaps 👀
Definitely see if you can plug in the PlayStation 5 in any way. I got mine plugged into the Amazon eero and it helped so much
I use mine without ps5. I bought if almost brand new from my friend for 150$ and the games run crazy good. It feels 100% native.
Awesome! Cloud streaming literally makes it to where you don’t need a ps5
Your rational is exactly what I did. 2 months ago traded my fat ps5 in when the price was high. Got a slim ps5 on black friday deal and looking forward to getting the portal. Justified this instead of getting the ps5 pro.
$700 for a console when I have a pc was steep. I’m glad I did though because the portal is awesome
Glad you love it. I use mine more than my ps5 lol
Definitely! Not being tied to a tv or monitor is great
Can you do a breakdown on your desktop setup 🙏🏼
I was on the same boat for Black Friday. Either PS5 Slim & PS Portal or PS5 Pro. I got the slim and the portal.
You have take out your hdmi from out of your tv for a much better experience on the portal . It’s a huge difference once disconnect the hdmi
I’m definitely going to try this! I wonder if it sending a picture to your monitor or tv messes with the performance
Did this work?
Just straight up, unfiltered facts. Nice video
Appreciate you 🙏🏻
That og aesthetic should be sonys look imo. It's so clean
I prefer it so much more than the white no colored button look
I find the Portal Runs SO much better now that I upgraded to the PS5 Pro!! The latency and freezing has all but gone away now that I stream from my Pro.
Interesting! I wonder if the pro has a better WiFi card?
@ I think the CPU can just process the stream better IMO
I loved mine ,my vibrations don't sound as bad as yours but I still turned mine to medium
Maybe mine was bad since it was dead silent at night lol
I got mine the Christmas it came out. My wifi is stable but not incredible, 50 mb consistent with very low ping, my ps5 is not hardwired into the router cause they’re so far apart. And as you’d expect, most of the time it was unplayable, but seemed to have issues that many many people were having regardless of their WiFi speed. Since the most recent update. I’ve not had a single problem, no Framerate or resolution drops, even while my partner is streaming Netflix etc. The cloud streaming is fantastic and again, runs very smoothly. Went from something I could barely play to one of my favourite things.
Nice! I wonder if it’s a stability issue. Glad you love it!
Most people have great download speed but abysmal upload speed. I have Frontier for this reason, it’s the only provider where upload matches download speed. Haven’t had a single issue with the Portal from day one
I have frontier too. Upload is great but something breaks with my download. I reset my eeros today after my download was at 30 🙃
Just get a really long Ethernet cable like I did. With 1g internet is flawless
It’s ugly. I’d rather pay a guy to run one up my attic and down into each room. Or fix it with better modems/routers
Definitely going to figure out hardwiring. Can’t live on WiFi lol
@FuDeezyy Cool Funko Pop shelves! Where do you buy them at? Thanks
Baseball bat case at Michael’s! They’re online on sale a lot too
@@fudeezyy sweet thank you
Excellent review, thinking of getting a portal. Do you think the cloud streaming would work if I tethered my phone to it for the WiFi? many thanks in advance.
Yes a lot of people did that in the comments and like it. My Tmobile service is trash so I never tried
Well, my PS5 is hardwired and my wifi is super fast but playing on the portal is just a torture for me, I've had to just drop it somewhere in the house because it makes me mad just how much lagging I experience and I got mine after the cloud streaming update was live.
Sorry to hear that. Do you think it could be a defective portal? Have you tried streaming other games on cloud or remote play?
@fudeezyy Hey, I've tried a couple of games on it, and I've tried both remote play and cloud streaming, it's the same for me. Perhaps it's defective. I guess I'll take it back and listen to what they'll tell me
where can I buy the Funko Pop Shelf you have hanging on your wall?
Michaels baseball bat case
I recently bought a WiFi extender/ booster I believe it’s the nighthawk & changed the way I play a lot. There no more lagging out problems and very stable connection. Download speed it’s around 500mpbs and uploads speed is around 100, it’s incredible really because this is all off of my wifi extender not even connected thru a lan cable to it and it’s insane really!!!
I was looking at the nighthawk too. It should be the best for gaming
Which nighthawk extender did you choose? I saw a couple different options on Amazon
You have to upgrade the modem. This was my PROBLEM FOR 3 years.
Return or sell the eero and invest in the Netgear orbi system
But make sure it's the modem/router orbi.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you love it. I can’t put mine down either lol
It’s been a lifesaver during some reality tv lol I still sneak a peek when the drama gets crazy tho 🫣
I wanted to like the portal when it first came out, but it kept disconnecting from my ps5 even though I have a strong wifi connection. But if things get better I'll gladly get it again.
I had that issue and fixed it connecting direct to a mesh node
This is only 200 euros, insane price! I'll defo order the anniversary edition they have it on stock.
The grey is so nice tbh. I’m sure you’ll love it
If you're paying for a gig, you should be getting at least 700 download on your ps5 speed test if hardwired.
If I get rid of the eeros, buy a switchboard, and run an Ethernet into my attic to my pc and ps5 that should work though right?
Update is awesome. Can’t wait til more games are added
Cloud streaming is definitely a huge perk now. I lucked out with the update when I bought it lol
I've been looking to get a handheld device. Have a switch lite but feels to small for me. Haven't bought a ps5 yet because I feel I won't play it as much. But this sounds pretty cool to just cloud stream when I want to play. What's the battery life like?
I got like 4-5 hours but it depends on your settings. I’m always near a plug though
Have you tried Path of Exile 2 on it? Kinda thinking grinding out poe2 on the dadstation portal would be great. I’m like you and bought a mesh system. Desk job as well and I think this thing was designed for me. Great way to escape the in laws for a while also.
I haven’t because I got it on steam 😅 it would be perfect to grind though. 80% of my Diablo 4 gameplay was on my steamdeck 😂
I loved it, wasn’t expecting much but yeah totally replaced my switch 😅 after Zelda games.
All my Nintendo products have basically become Zelda/pokemon stations lol
Just picked up an anniversary one! I have an oled deck and it's my favorite device ever because I can stream everything and emulate everything with little to no issue. But I noticed I've been really not playing on my ps5 because I miss on a lot of the dual sense functionalities with chiaki. Can't wait to get it and play dust off my ps5. (I basically can only play handheld or PC nowadays)
I practically beat ff7 remake on chiaki. How do you like the oled? I’ve been meaning to upgrade mine but worried the second I do they drop Steamdeck 2 😂
I’ve doubled my ps5 playtime now with the portal. Glad you scored the anniversary edition 🙏🏻
I’m looking to get the PlayStation Portal for when I travel out of state, I have wired connection to my PS from my router/motem via LAN line. Hopefully if I get one and travel out of state it will work decently with COD
Let me know! I wish I could plug direct
One more question, how hard is it to connect to the ps5, and say you are in a hotel, would it be easy to connect, and does it need good connection to work properly or not? That’s my question. Also thanks for the vid !
As long as the hotel’s WiFi is good you should be fine. I haven’t tried it but there’s a ton of people in the comments for this vid telling me they’ve played in other states and even on their hotspot from their phone
No worries, thanks again for watching 🙏🏻
would recommend getting more ero devices to make the mesh stronger, you can have a few and ensure you have one in the room you want to play in. you should have an eero direct into the main router and having the network be totally eero, compared to eero + other internet device
I’ll look into this too!
No way just over WiFi? I heard that brand is legit
Can't add a screenshot here but I just ran a speed test I hit just over 700 on wifi. I'm always working from home and watching TH-cam on a tablet lol. The tp link changed everything for me.
@darrenb4619 definitely might do this. Cheapest option so far lol
I have a PS5 and i just got one of these today
Hope you enjoy it! 🙏🏻
Can you play your ps5 from anywhere as long as you have any wifi or does it have to be the same as your Playstation
Anywhere with WiFi!
@fudeezyy oh cool so it's basically a switch if you already have a ps5 already
Basically and there’s cloud streaming if you have PlayStation premium!
probably the most objective review I’ve seen for this product
Thanks 🙏🏻
As a frequent traveler, this device is highly recommended and I love it to the max, yes it has its downsides but tell which device so far doesn’t have any??? I can literally play ps5 anywhere as long as I have decent connection
Right lol nothings perfect and it’s really not expensive
Is the 30th Anniversary Edition have any other different from the original besides the color?
Nah nothing but the color tbh
Got it since yesterday and it was worth the money
Glad you like it!
Just not the same
I love my steam deck. I was between that and the rog ally too though. I loved my rog ally but the speakers broke and I ended up returning it
Just triple the price.
While playing Madden, How do you call a Timeout on the fly, without pausing the game???
No clue tbh
I agree it’s great for me. And I only got it for the bed room. Cause I don’t always want to be in my game room. Specially after work… currently playing RE3 and man it is fun. Actually going through that game putting hrs in it. I’ll go back and play RE1 & 2 after I’m done. I’m 44 married with kids. Been gaming my since I was like 6. I love it.
Love the resident evil series. Glad it worked out for you! Definitely a game changer for anyone married with kids lol
I’m thinking about getting this, do you need to have the PlayStation on or can you have the machine in rest mode? As a parent this is incredible
It will turn it on while it’s in rest mode. Then when you turn off the portal it turns off the ps5. Game changer for parents lol
I got my last week and it's awesome I like it
Glad you like it! It’s awesome and basically doubled my ps5 playtime lol
Can you use your iPhone hot spot to connect to PlayStation portal?
Yes you can
I freaking love this thing. I work alot and im able to play while im there. For me its a 👍👍

If I buy ps plus premium subscription for the cloud streaming [120 games]…. Will I be able to play all 120 games on my ps5 console as well ??
Yes you’ll be able to play on the ps5 as well!
I found a lot less lag when locking the network to 5ghz in the ps5 network settings. Locked to 1080p too.
If connected to the 5ghz for sure. Eeros are dumb and don’t let you lock in that. Sometimes it switches to 2g or whatever the slowest is
@@fudeezyy yeah you can force your ps5 to use "5ghz only" but I don't think the portal itself has the option unfortunately 😕.
I'm Gona be testing with a hot spot. I already remote play Xbox on my Galaxy Fold 4. Thinking hot spot would work. We'll see
Cloud or remote?
Also, it’s still a beta so it can only get better from here hopefully
If you’re into that definitely play fallout and I really recommend Bloodborne and Control
@@fudeezyy Thank you. I attend to utilize the device and test all the games that look decent. Love the fact the Dredge is on there. Another good game from what I seen on youtube.
Thx for the review. Do you take the hdmi cable out of the ps5?
Glad it helped! No you can leave it plugged in and play even while the tv is off
Always hardwire your systems straight into the modem if you can. Such a better experience.
I’d love to it’s just too far and in my laundry room 🙃

@fudeezyy i've heard good things about something called starlink tho for areas where internet is pretty slow never tried it before tho so can't say for sure
I just hardwired my PS5 with the nighthawk satellite booster and holy crap my portal actually works now! I haven’t been able to enjoy it for about a year now since I got it.
Are you getting good speeds with the nighthawk?
Sad you had to do all that.
@@fudeezyy it’s much better than just the nighthawk without the satellites. I have less disconnect issues now. I mainly play in bed before sleep so it works perfectly there now.
@@0thers1d3 you’re right, I wish it wasn’t like that and a year hadn’t gone by but it is what it is. They should have mentioned the wired connection difference.

Definitely. People even use their phone hotspot
@ nice! I’m a bit worried cause I mainly play shooters like apex and rainbow 6 but I’ll explore other options as well. I’m getting this as a gift for Christmas so I’m excited to try it out.
I’m hearing conflicting things on multiplayer shooters. When I was on it I wasn’t a fan but that’s because I want every advantage I can get if I’m in multiplayer lol

I love the portal and with new update where we can stream its even better I still hope sony bring out psvita 2 ❤
Man I bought this grey ps5 for it to sit there while I use it to stream on my portal lol
Will this update come to New Zealand?
Possibly when it’s out of beta
