After reviewing the video and determining that I didn't have the time or inclination to make a holder for a one-time project, I used a short length of discarded bandsaw blade, bent it into a U-shape per the video (though I didn't heat it up) and sharpened the back-side of the blade (not the side with the teeth). Then I was able to clamp it into a standard tool holder, set it up below the workpiece centerline (per the video) and it worked surprisingly well! I wouldn't have come up with this without the video, but perhaps my effort will help someone else.
You could get a much smoother surface finish if you tilted the cutter a bit; giving it larger clearance angle. The problem here is that the tool's underside is rubbing heavily onto the rubber's surface, resulting in a rough finish. Neither the feed not the rotational speed is the problem here, it's only a matter of proper tool angles.
hi and thank you for the comment, its only a summary of '' HOW TO ''without detail's of specific dimension's of the tool but at least now you know that turning rubber easily with decent surface finishes on a lathe is possible, im sure that all viewer's will be able to reproduce this tool with success by sketching, turning and milling based on their own dimension's
at one time i was so fluent that it was impossible tell i was french, i lived my youth on the west part of Montreal that like 90% anglophone so i was privileged to have learn to speak English with no effort, ive been living 125 miles north of Montreal for the past 25 years and here its like 99% french so i didn't realy get a chance to practice my English but never give a chance to talk English when i can, hope you liked the video, thanks
Yeah, you really don't have a very strong accent; I can see how it could just come from not speaking English regularly for that long. But I like the French-Canadian accent in English anyway.
Hello friend, how's it going? The offer to watch the latest crime documentary video is still valid. Perhaps this video could lead us to establish an emotional connection. Hearing your thoughts is important to me.

Thank you for posting this info
Much more important than is commonly assumed.
Nice tooling build .
Welcome

Well done, thank you for sharing this difficult task.
Excellent ...just what I needed to know ...thanks!
Very helpful. Thank you.

Could you machine a quite true large rubber ball?
Thank you 😊
Great work
Nice tool. But if your French you should do the Allo Allo accent :)
He lives in Quebec, so it's a French-Canadian accent.

Just freeze it, turns nice
Merci beaucoup!
Solved my problem.
Thanks
