Pigs being smart isnt necessarily a good thing. The pig will figure out how to destroy her house (and her pig collection!) and do a much better job of it than the dog. Did you see that pigs mother? Because that's how big this baby pig is gonna get. If you look at farm sanctuaries most of them are filled to the brim with surrendered "pet" pigs. They are significantly more difficult to keep than dogs.

Pigs are also very social animals and need a pig friend to truly be happy. All though a human will fill some of their social needs, not all. I've followed local pet pig owners for years and have seen houses destroyed, limbs bitten and other pets attacked and severely hurt. Of course there are some cases where pigs have never destroyed anything or hurt anyone, but it's very rare. They're not mean to be mean, but they have a natural need to dig and are very hormonal and territorial.

But the behavior with pigs is similar with dogs it all depends on the owner, like i said i my previous comment i know some people that have some and they are all well behaved. Of course they are gonna become destructive if they are inside a house 24/7 they need to he take out for walks just like dogs.

Her husband is an utter saint. Not only is he so accepting of the obsession while still being civilly honest about how he feels, he is also just a genuinely kind person to all of the strangers he interacts with in this clip. Then at the end when he's holding the pig in his arm in bed, it shows that he's compelled to give it affection.
The cherry on top was Husband and Sally cuddling at the end to Wife/Mom reading the book!! Probably the most stable and well adjusted person on this show. She's not in any kind of denial and isn't hoarding the real animals impulsively. She did her research and made sure her husband was 100% okay with it! And props to her husband who fully supported her in getting Sally!!

Mini pigs and Potbelly pigs rarely go to slaughter, it's the big commercial farm breed pigs (like the first pig, the big pig she saw) that get raised for slaughter by the masses. It's sad how it's mostly them that are slaughtered because those types of pigs are just as lovable, friendly, and affectionate as mini and potbelly pigs. You see a perfect example of that with Esther the wonder pig. I wish it wasn't just mini and potbelly pigs and that more big farm breed pigs were kept as pets. But unfortunately big farm pigs are much less often pets because it's much more difficult to take care of them due to their bigger size. Big pigs' food bills are much more expensive because they eat much more, they need alot more space like a farm and half the people who want pigs as pets live on residential streets, and it's harder to keep a large pig indoors without them accidentally breaking things, and feeling cooped up because bigger pigs need more space

That's the luckiest pig in the world considering most go to slaughter house
Mini pigs and Potbelly pigs rarely go to slaughter, it's the big commercial farm breed pigs (like the first pig, the big pig she saw) that get raised for slaughter by the masses. It's sad how it's mostly them that are slaughtered because those types of pigs are just as lovable, friendly, and affectionate as mini and potbelly pigs. You see a perfect example of that with Esther the wonder pig. I wish it wasn't just mini and potbelly pigs and that more big farm breed pigs were kept as pets. But unfortunately big farm pigs are much less often pets because it's much more difficult to take care of them due to their bigger size. Big pigs' food bills are much more expensive because they eat much more, they need alot more space like a farm and half the people who want pigs as pets live on residential streets, and it's harder to keep a large pig indoors without them accidentally breaking things, and feeling cooped up because bigger pigs need more space
