@@colinlee5429 Yes Lewis is a nice guy. I have never been there and they don’t know who I am (yet) but hopefully one day I will say hello 😀 And don’t worry, a T4 is coming soon 😉
30 to 40 years ago I was fitting out old vans as campers, it was a cheap and cheerful thing to do. Now the cost of a cheap camper is crazy. Yes I've been a VW victim, over the last 3 decades I've have a nearly new Califonia, a nearly new Bilbo Celex and a couple of Burstner motorhomes all at silly prices. What I have come to realise is the camping experience is no different in a £70k -£100k van as it is in a £10-15k van. Generally its good to keep in mind that if you are only camping in a field in a van for a few weeks a year, is it really necessary to spend so much on a van.
@@IronMountainx absolutely. Van prices for new are crazy, but we don’t need new to enjoy the lifestyle. And your right, the amount of people spending big on vans and not using them is crazy
I have a OG T5 and don't want a new van, even though I can afford one! I prefer the older vans I wouldn't mind a T3 next! So I just upgrade my T5 and make it look awsome!
Hi all, looking for some advice. I’m brand new to van life and I’m looking to get my first van next year I’ve got a budget of £10,000 for the van and upgrades. I’m just looking to keep it simple and practical just for weekend adventures. Just asking some advice from more experienced members on must haves in the van and what to do and not to do Greatly appreciated any help cheers!
@@toddy505 I wouldn’t have a hole cut in my roof and have a none crash tested poptop installed without the correct structure in place. A lot of R&D should go into anything like that and they should be tested, including the procedure/process of install.
@@StaycationLifestyle Yep agree. I viewed someone's van local to me after a conversion chat recently when I bumped into them at the supermaket. Loved the idea of the shape and they had seatbelts on the middle of the U shape 2 side by side. Hadn't really thought of the danger element until watching this video.
Great video. Seems like a nice and knowledgeable guy! Lovely blue conversion too 💙
A clear-cut conversions shop tour/interview woukd be ace 😉 👌

@StaycationLifestyle good man glad to hear it 😉
Nice wheels, well I am biased as I’ve got them. Cracking watch.

Why not, they are great vans and if it’s right for you that’s all that matters. I fancy a T4 😀
Is it possible to get a van conversion in the UK that is winterised and suitable to skiing trips in the Alps?

You need to test a £1500 roof before criticising to be fair, don’t knock good value, plenty of fitters out there charging folk a fortune.

The bloke is a complete helmet , talks so much 💩
You don't travel in a u-shape setup. They are not travel seats so that is incorrect information. You only travel in the belted seats up front.
Unfortunately there are some that have seat belts attached and people do travel in them.
