    Brilliant format, entertaining but helpful from someone ‘in the know’. The rapport you build up makes for an engaging and informative listen. So looking forward to more in the series. Hoping you’re on the mend, take care.

      Thank you. It’s not easy as even the most bubbly, witty, confident people who can be great to have a laugh with, can become a different person with cameras on.
      Still learning the best setup myself, but this worked well for my first one. Might get more tricky when I introduce multiple guests 🤞🏼

    I’ve owned a high spec transit and I know they are popular but they do not compare with a transporter ! Golf or escort ?

      Thank you. It sure will be interesting to see the new variant.
      I have to say Escort, due to the fact I was big into rallying in the 90’s, therefore loved the Cosworth. Always said one day I would own one, but have no chance of that now, far too much money

    Great watch Steve, are there any other easy differences to differentiate between a panel van and a combi van, I know you mentioned the window.
    Are you coming up the Hawthorns with the Green army on October 21st?

  • @antonybailey8939
    @antonybailey8939 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Regarding the difference between a panel van and a kombi ,once the flooring from a kombi goes in and original kombi seats and seat belts, windows ,what is the difference ?

    • @Filmchippy
      @Filmchippy 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not a lot , even though in this video they seem to suggest the panel van to kombi conversion isn't as good as factory. The only extra bit à factory one has is behind the rear bumper there's a plastic reinforcing structure and the factory Kombi is steel. Guessing because you'll have passengers in the back.

    😂 We converted our long nose T4 velle 13 years ago. So glad we went for a velle so much better than the panel van. Air con and feels like a car to drive. The biggest expense was the rib bed and poptop.. The best thing we've ever done. Our children have grown up with him. All in for about 20k. It baffles me where they get 60k from.

    • @chunkyfxdls1878

      Hi, is your T4 velle classed as a mpv (car) with higher tax as it’s not van (commercial)?? Thanks

    Great content has usual,, just starting going down the road converting a T5 shuttle in to camper doing a fair bit myself to keep price down, can you recommend a company in the south west that will look after me in doing the stuff that’s best left to the professionals instead of ripping me off , would really appreciate any recommendations.

    Great format, why don’t the doors shut like a Volkswagen @2:42.? Is it just the extra rubber seal? Hope you’re getting better ❤️‍🩹

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      It dates back a few years to the “Sounds like a golf advert” It was a suggestion to the high quality German engineering of a Volkswagen.
      Regarding the Transporter, this is indeed improved by the additional rubber seal, but also sound deadening in the doors.

      Great question - hope this answers the question, Volkswagen were the market leader at the time when they invested in laser line welding in their manufacture.
      The way to describe this is look at most cars and along the roof you see two plastic trims this covers where the roof is spot welded to the side and top
      Of the car. Volkswagen create a continuous long laser weld completely sealing the roof in. If you replicate this in the entire build process you end up with an almost air tight cabin. Yes the good quality rubber seals play a huge part at Steve mentioned.

      Interesting take on things. The new transit looks cool so with a VW design I think it will be ‘the’ van to have. Ford are also doing the ‘trail’ which is screaming out ‘swamper! Think all diesel will be going wet belt due to performance and economy. You’ll hear horror stories if you google it but in context …it’s the highest selling van by a country mile (highest selling actual vehicle in 22) think there were some recalls 2019 and the belt part no has changed so presumably upgraded.
