- finally, really happy with the result and would recommend to anyone, really easy to apply and I'm thinking about spraying my wheels so what do you guys think?

can you use normal spray paint mate or plasti dip. cus i wanna de chrome mine but im wondering if jus sanding the chrome down then priming then spraying it gloss black will stick well enough
Use need to use etch primer, or the gloss black will just flake off.
Hi Jesse, is it necessary to sand paper the chrome bit first? Before spray painting. As some says it need to be sand paper first and prime, for the paint to stay on well.. What do you think pls?
And secondly, can I use ordinary spray paint, instead of plastic dip? Or must it be plastic dip. Am wanting to paint the chrome part infront of my ford focus
I don't know a fat lot but in case this helps mate... I believe that with plasti dip it doesn't run if you don't strip the chrome but I wouldn't be too sure if a rattle can would work the same way
How long does PlastiDip usually last fella? Any chips, jet wash ok? etc Thinking of doing this method over buying a £60 matte trim for my Skoda grill..

I’ve brought the Simoniz black spray paint to spray my rims which was sponsored under this video does anyone know if it works in the same way as Plasti dip?
Also wanted to use it to spray grill and back badge?

I probably would of left the grill chrome as u have chrome on your fog lights unless your changing it

Why didn't you sand the chrome before spraying.
As you said the plasticote will just peel off .
Only asking as I did this to my ford focus but wet n dry sande all the chrome.

Yess! Finally did it! Looks so good! Just needs a Plastidip gloss coat or 2 and would look sweet :)

Should sand it off , primer and then paint . That way you get better and lasting product .

@@milkteamami sand it so the primer + paint have something to grip onto, otherwise the paint comes of easier👍

What’s the benefits of using plasti-dip rather than normal black spray paint?

Did you put masking tape over the vent parts of the grill?(between the 2 Crome parts)

Nah mate you should be fine but depends on your insurer
whats your insurance saying about the mods?
well so far, ive told them about the light tint and really the rest (plasti dip/stickers/eyelids etc) dont really get classed as mods. and plus with them sorts of mods if your insurance doesnt know and you do crash you can take them all of at the side of the road :)

Without using a good quality etch primer, It'll be flaking in a month or two. Sure way to bugger up a good front end.

Don’t use this video, if you want a job that will last prep properly and sand between coats
Bro, learn your stuff before making lame comments.....hes using plastidip, which you don't and can't sand. Thats the whole beauty of it, you can peel it off and do it again. So as for preppin', it defeats the object of using plastidip, coz you can peel it off back to original. It dries to a plastic/rubber coating, which you just dont sand.
So before commenting on stuff you know nothing about, do some learning!!!......Like you some pro painter or summin....lol
ThePoonFish I’ll admit I was mistaken and thought he was painting but even with plasti dip you should remove the item ,clean the surface thoroughly and do more ,thinner coats. I’ll link you to a video if you’d like

@@GT-mr4qw bro I was plastidipping years ago, seen so many vids on it. Was only watching this as it came up automatically after something else I was watching.... This guy shows the easy way.... We all know taking it off, prepping, painting and laquering is the best way, especially on a front grill that takes a beating from shit, and yeah he could've done a better job, but as for quick and easy, and for £8 like he said, it works, and that is what he wanted to put across, and he did. So your comment about don't use this video is a bit strong.
