    Bought this grill because we aren’t allowed to have charcoal/gas grills at my apartment complex… This grill is perfect. Cooked steaks and sausages on it yesterday and they taste amazing. Of course nothing compares to an actual smoker or charcoal grill, but it works for me. Worth the price in my opinion.

    I have this. Just got it. And, as much as I love Ninja's products, I have the 6 in 1 with the thermoprobe, this can NOT replicate something like a several hour smoke on an offset or UDS type smoker. Just look at the ribs you pulled, there was no smoke ring at all on it.
    What this does do is add a pungent smokiness that's acrid and bitter, and you can tell by the smoke coming out of the unit, it's just this gross white smoke that looks like cancer. You want a nice thin blue smoke which means you're cooking with full combustion in the firepit. You don't want smoldering white smoke which just produces a ton of creosote, which is what you're seeing at the top of the grill by the fan. I only did one smoke session on this with a smoke salmon, and I could already tell by hour 1 that this thing looked like a nasty tabacco spit jar. I had to throw out the salmon.

      Thanks for your comments. Im in the market for a pellet smoker and a friend mentioned this. I’ve smoked a few things in the past and know exactly what you are talking about, thin blue smoke vs white. I’ve watched many videos on this and keep seeing the white smoke. I’ve been wondering if the flavor is there or basically something a person would get from a smoke tube.

    @ Kenna; do you have trouble with your smoke function giving up part way through the cycle when doing low and slow, say like brisket? Pellet bin was full, had massive smoke for about 40 minutes, topped off the bin, and then at 2 hours , nada. (Trying to find a fix in the troubleshooting guide has been frustrating)

If you go to the grocery store and compare the two and the turkey is smaller, then you may be able to make it work!

    I have my mid year bonus coming in 2 months I'm going to get one of these probably the xl one. Love BBQ on long summer days but sometimes the long cooks become a chore, might be nice to get meat cooking and be able to walk away from it untill it's done.. some days I'll have the time and be in the mood for the 10 -12 hour cooks other days i might get the Ninja going and have it done quicker and not have to add coles or wood during the cook.

    Gotta use it outside but you can't store it outside - it's an electric oven, folks. I can't imagine it dealing with rain all that well. So, where? Anyone have a kitchen large enough to store this monster? Put it in the garage (if you have one). Kick the kid out of their bedroom? Yeah, I exaggerate, but not by much.
    Speaking of much: Cut the price in half and...... maybe. They're asking a lot of money for a very non-essential and difficult to store device. Doesn't seem at all practical to me.

    • @KennasKitchen

      Hey!! So it has a cover (that you can buy separately) which allows you to keep it outside!

    • @Stevefor1776
      @Stevefor1776 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KennasKitchen Yeah. Electronic components (It IS an electric unit) in heavy moisture - which that cover won't block. Corrosion city. This is not a smart purchase. As an aside, the SEPARATE purchase of the cover - pretty much a necessity - is kind of a "screw you" on Ninja's part. I am not trying to dump on you, Kenna, but this product was not really well thought out. It is, in essence a gimmick that most people won't use all that much. Consider: Most people already have BBQ's/grills. Those who don't are probably starting out on their own and don't have much space or cash ($370 plus the cover!). They'd be better off on both counts with a small Weber charcoal grill or even a hibachi! For a select group it will work and probably well: People with a lot of spending money and a lot of space or those like the recent RV winner who is looking for a multi-use relatively small product they can carry with them on their nomadic journeys and set out when they get to their location. For the average home owner - or even more so, apartment dweller - I don't think so, particularly at the price.

      Hi! It should not be burning though all the pellets with just the ignition & preheat part. It will though do a lot of heavy smoke in the beginning, but turn to a whispier smoke once you’ve started cooking. This is designed so that the “bad smoke” burns off before you start cooking.

      It depends on how true of a smoker you want honestly!! If you like the act of smoking, and want to get into it heavily, even with just one person (and big enough cooks for leftovers) I’d go with a smaller, charcoal/stick smoker. If you want super easy, leave it and forget it smoked meats, I’d go with an electric smoker. Something like this unit or a small master built/pit boss unit. If you’re looking for a little mixture of both, I’d do a newer gravity fed grill, a small egg style grill, or a if you must, a pellet grill.
