CJ great comparison! Living in NYC, my outdoor space is very limited, and I've been considering this Ninja unit because of its size. With that being said, everything I'm seeing about it screams performance as well! I honestly thought the traditional pellet smoker was going to take the win, but that little guy holds its own!

CJ, one REALLY cool feature is that you can set the dial to SMOKER, and the temp to 'CLD': This way, the grill plate does NOT heat, but the unit produces smoke for whatever time you set the timer to :). Obviously, this lends to more smokiness without overcooking the food.
Oops, add to above...obviously, need to heat the food at some point. But, that can be done in a separate cycle, such as GRILL (on the dial, with or without smoke option).
Yes, sometimes I go to 225, you don't really get more smoke flavor unless you add another batch of pellets with the first batch burns out. Otherwise it will be the same either way.

This is definitely something I would like to try. If you place a little cup (maybe a silicone) with some juice or water, then maybe you wouldn’t have to be opening, losing heat while you spritz?
I love a pellet grill ,but when smoking at low temps because they burn pellets for heat ,the meat wont have very much smoke flavor , especially fish . I smoke fish all the time and have to use smoke canisters to get any flavor . The Ninja woodfire is different and maybe just what I am looking for.
hI, i noticed with my old pit boss the internals had to be replaced numerous times within 2-3 years due to rust and deterioration. The downside of the slide sear plate is the thin metal rusts and breaks down so fast compared to one sold piece of steel. Do you notice this with your LG also? thank you!
A little input CJ if you don't mind, currently in Australia we dont have the pro XL model yet and was wondering if you have a preference that would sway me to wait. Cheers
Does the dial on the woodfire ninja have clicks or indentations? I'm a blind person, so if I can count clicks to know which setting I'm on, that's helpful.
If the pellets are not catching or igniting, you need to press and hold the Woodfire button for 3-4 seconds and it should start the ignition process again.
You're cool! These companies are lucky to have you as a spokesperson. I just bought a woodfire grill right now. How can I get the seasonings and recipes you use? Especially for pork ribs.
Hello again, I wanted to ask please from your experience, is there a significant difference between the taste of the meat in a gas grill and a smoked ninja grill?
@@CookingWithCJ I would buy a gas grill, but I don't like to clean it, it leaves a lot of dirt, so do you think I should buy the ninja og701? Does the taste of the meat come out closest to a gas grill? or a charcoal grill?
Hi CJ! I just purchased this and have a question. I'm in am apartment with just a small patio - no way I can get it to be 3 feet away from all walls and the building on all sides. Also, I purchased an outdoor extension cord, and will have to use an outlet in the house since there is no outlet outside. Do you see any issues? I plugged it in and let it run empty for about 15 minutes yesterday and didn't blow any fuses. . . .
@@CookingWithCJ Thank you! I was more wondering if the regular home outlet was ok. I used it yesterday with no issue so I guess it’s fine! Love your videos!
I have purchased a barrel smoker when it sits on it’s end about four years ago and used it to smoke turkeys, etc. I mean I will smoke it for about half the proteins weight in time. It was near perfect every time. But I had to do extra things to keep it moist. I’ve been wanting an electric smoker for a very long time and refused to spend $700-$2000 on a pellet smoker. Then I saw your video and ordered nwf right away and have used it and I think I’m gonna put a ring on it. I am 56, lived in seven states over the years, and use homemade cold smoking techniques, barrel, smoker sideways, gas, smokers, etc. I’m just talking about the last five years.
CJ I have a hypothesis for you to test out, unless you’ve done enough that you already know. In one of your videos, you said you did not know why the great on the wood fire doesn’t drain the drippings more quickly (not verbatim). I think that’s purposeful for more than one reason, one is it keeps moisture a.k.a. humidity higher near the meat, when the humidity is higher, the balance of moisture in the meat will be higher. within it, less escapes during the smoking/roasting/grilling/etc process, instead of draining right away into the Pan beneath. Not verbatim! My hypothesis is this was done on purpose & helps keep more moisture in the air, close to the meat, because of the insular affect. You still have the ability to have GrillMarx, etc. but it does not allow the moisture to completely escape. You know having that great blow with deeper wind channels. Instead, it’s very shallow. Therefore, moisture cannot be pushed away so quickly on the bottom half of the meat. The other reason for slow drainage is so that the person realizes how much meat drippings is being created, they empty the pan because they have to actually push some back into the drain hole. What I like is the grill great cools down quickly.
Hey thanks. The roasts were 3.5 lbs. the knife is the Shadow Black series pit master knife from Dalstrong. There is a link in the video description for Dalstrong.
