    nobody has uploaded this kind of video regarding Wind loads....really great. One doubt is that if a building face has different tributary areas (with different c/c column distance and different building height), which one to be considered? whether it is based on maximum center to center distance between columns or maximum height of the structure??

    Will the approach remain same for Open Steel structure? or can we consider Wind in X only with 1 coefficient factor?

    I have a doubt regarding the height of the structure. For example for a steel building of height 18 m will the area averaging factor be different for different floor? and do we need to calculate k2 value for each floor above 10 m?

    Hi, I tried this but only in +x direction the wind load isn't displayed for entire area(i mean its showing only for a small portion) even it's x, y, z-ranges are given correctly for whole area, what may be the reason for this?

    Hi, I have to design a floor on existing structure which is G+3. The new structure is 3.76m tall on the terrace of the existing building. New total height will about 20 m. Now how do I calculate the wind pressure for this new part. I am using Staad for the analysis and the column s and beams are of steel section. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

    sir,
    In taking Cpe from table 5 i have one doubt. if the building is vertically rectangular front length side is A and opposite to that is C for 0 degree and in perpendicular for 90 degree, the top short side is B and bottom short side is D. accordingly we have to read cpe values from fig given in Table 5. if building is horizontally rectangular your front short side becomes B and opposite side is D for 90 and front length top and bottom side becomes A and C for 0 degree. is it correct to read cpe value. kindly clarify. nobody watch the figure given in table 5 to read cpe value. there is little comfusion in reading the figure.

    nicely explained sir.
    But I have one doubt that is,
    when you have applied the load in X direction you have taken the range of X as 0-11m but when you applied load in Z direction then you take the range of Z as 0-0m and 8-8m and not 0-8m. Why sir?

    got confused with the positive and negative signs of the factors......do we need to enter the values with same signs obtained as per the summation of cpe, cpi (i.e, wall A 1, wall B -0.45 , wall C -1, wall D -1 ) or wall A 1, wall B +0.45, wall C -1, wall D 1??? Please explain me Sir

    Sir when I am applying wind loads in a simple model, wind loads by staad model are coming slightly higher than my manual calculation.. Exposure has been taken as 1 & Factor as 2. Can you please share your Staad Model as I want to check where I am wrongly doing

    Sir,but I have a problem .I have assigned all the wind loads ,given the correct ranges,but the wind load has only appeared to the first two floors.the wind load is not displayed on the upper 2 floors.what may be reason sir?.please respond quickly.

      Wind load is lateral load so it will first hit exposed area of building ( i.e. walls + column+ beam of exposed face) then that lateral push will get transferred from beam to column n then to footing.

    As shown in the video wind load has been defined for wind flowing in X direction
    Similarly we do we need to define wind loads when wind is flowing in -X, Z and -Z direction?

    Brother, one more doubt @ 31:13 Time line in Load Case WX, for Windward side the factor is +1.0 (From excel) and you applied as +1.0 (in STAAD), But in Leeward side the factor is -0.45 (From Excel), but you have applied as +0.45 (In STAAD). Why there is change in sign? Similarly done for Sidewall Face also (Change in sign).... Why so??

      Its due to sign convention in staad..for eg. Lets consider X direction..in leeward side my wind will move away from B face (in excel minues sign indicating away from face) so i used +sign in staad if i had used -sign then it will act towards face B not away

    Presentation is very cumbersome and boring. Make another excel sheet for calculating external and internal wind pressure by giving height, width input. And explain by giving text explanation as well and not switching too many times from one page to other.
