So refreshing to see a video that isn’t ladened with big brand names on EVERYTHING!
Perhaps a few plasters etc in that zip compartment? Nice little kit mate.
    Kind regards from Swansea. 👍🏻👊🏻

Ah cool - good shout, I often have a first aid kit with that kind of stuff in anyway, but a few players wouldn’t take up much space

good video dude! here in Brazil this pouch is used a lot in the EDC community because it is very easy to find compared to maxpedition and other famous brand ...
in my pouch I also carry a hank for general use and some zip ties in that ziper pocket !

    • @Tim2pointoh
      @Tim2pointoh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Cool, thanks.. Zip ties are definitely missing here.. I might do another load out

Been searching for ages for something other than Maxpedition , this is perfect! Thank you.

Cool. It’s a great little pouch, strong and well priced. The maxpedition and vanquest products are overpriced if you ask me, but often have some unique application design features.

@@Tim2pointoh I have the Maxpedition Fatty, Skinny, AGR CAP, AGR XBP, AGR Cellphone pouch and the Riftblade backpack, great quality gear. Also have the Vanquest FTIM 6x9 that I use as my mini Survival pouch. I like the organizer layout of the Solognac and the fact that it has a zip compartment inside and Molle attachment on the back...this the Maxpedition Micro does not have.

You nailed it, great value pouch compared with some recognised brands. I'm into photography and the pockets and layout of the dividers works great for the smaller dongle type tech items, portable SSD drives, charging cables, batteries etc. I bought a couple as well as the slightly larger one which has a couple of belt looks.

It’s a great pouch - I have a mental note to pick up the larger one the next time I can get to a Decathlon store

Very nice. May I suggest changing the opinel out for a SAK Farmer. More options that way including a saw.

Good pouch and review. Only thing I don't like is that all bands have the same fixed spacing and there are items that do not fit anywhere. Examples: spare AA batteries, vita-pos eye ointment, spare camera battery. But I'm going to throw that stuff into small zip-lock bags and pocket I guess.
I like your combo, opinel knives are great, I prefer size 10 (ok, we have no legal restrictions) and with small multitool like your gerber, it may be better option than larger swiss army knife or multitool. No matter how big, well equipped and heavy multitool you have, it can barely replace real tools anyways. Useful tools are usually tweezers, bottle opener, cork screw, at least for me and camping.
And I always prefer headlamp to flashlight (there is some kind of headband with elastic bands that convert flashlight to headlamp) because I want to have my hands free (for riding a bike, cooking, eating, ... at home for soldering, upgrading PC, ...)

There is no perfect set up - and every trip or outing can have different requirements.
Having a selection of tools and gadgets and working out which ones you forgot to pack is part of the fun.. 😂

Got two a few weeks ago, fantastic for the price. When you see the likes of vanquest or maxipedition charging an arm and a leg for something similar.

Glad you liked it! I'm thinking of repacking it was some themes, though new kit is expensive so I might have to re-think that!

Nice video. Re “solognac” - it’s a French name and so is not pronounced “sol-og-nac”but rather “sol-on-yac” 🙏🏼🇬🇧

Nice EDC pouch, but having used a variety of tactical and outdoor pouches I can tell you that Vanquest Maximizer organisers are incredibly handy and functional for the price. I find that a pouch like the Solognac X Access doesn't help you organise stuff and make the most use of space as compared to Maxpedition, Vanquest (founded by Maxpedition devs) or even Condor Outdoor pouches. Vanquest helps you fit much more items into a slim profile by virtue of their offset interior webbing and smart sheath layouts. I previously got Condor pouches for around the same price and have since transitioned to Vanquest.

Thanks for watching. I don't disagree that those specialist manufacturers produce great gear, but I don't think you could get much more into a space this size than the Solognac can hold.
However my main point here was the budget - A similar sized Maxpedition pouch in the UK would cost 3-4 times the price. That's key for me.

Hi - Solognac and Decathlon, say its water repellent. I haven't had any issues, but was thinking of doing a full water proof test.. Stay tuned...
