      geofatboy I received mine and it looks fantastic, but I noticed the blade is more exposed on one side than the other where the metal extends further on one side. Is this suppose to be part of the design? Doesn’t appear to be due to the blade.

      geofatboy I received it yesterday and shaved before work. The face shave was wonderful. I quickly got accustomed to it. I was feeling ambitious so I decided to shave my head with it as well. Over all, the head shave went well. It was a little awkward on the back of my head. Ended up removing the vast majority of two moles. Not a big deal as they were my two least favorite moles. All in all I really enjoyed shaving with it. Great product!

    Nice and helpful intro and demonstration of a new type of hardware. I wonder whether it's any less easy to nick or slice yourself as it might be with a straight razor. Is the razorine any less aggressive or "forgiving"? Thanks, Geo (or is that Gio?).

      It is definitely more forgiving than a traditional straight razor. It has safety bars on the sides of the blade so its comparable to shaving with a safety razor.

    4 years late to the party, just started using straight razors and love it.
    Question though, do they make one with a smaller screw or possibly a screw on each side (yes separate holes because thread patterns wouldn't work the same, or would it be possible to just tighten with a counter clockwise twist??)
    I ask because I simply can not use my left hand for steady shaving of my left side, so I use my right and have to go against the grain in spots, and with that big screw it would be in the way for my use.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Please elaborate, not sure what your question is about the threads...

    • @icarium9304
      @icarium9304 ปีที่แล้ว

      @geofatboy the way it's set up now is you can only tighten from one side, so the bolt you twist will always be on the "top" side. For my use I would need one that would have a bolt that could tighten from the bottom side as well. Not both sides at the same time, just the ability to switch which side is being tightened

    I've been shaving with a DE Safety Razor for almost 20 years. I recently tried a straight razor and gave up after 3 tries and a dozen (sometimes deep) cuts on my face. I wonder if the Razorine would be a good intermediate step in terms of shaving with a straight razor? I shave both sides of my face right-handed with my safety razor. Would that be a problem with the Razorine? I just can't make the switch to the left-hand method. BTW, love these videos. I send links to them to my 90 Y/O father who has used shaving soap his entire life and his face skin is still very healthy.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Razorine is an excellent precursor to a straight razor. Best part is you can practice without the blade, then insert the blade and Get your shave on! I use both hands but you can alter my method any way that suits you.

    • @mayurpatel2901
      @mayurpatel2901 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blade on a straight razor is usually very flexible, which makes it comfortable. The amount of flex has to do with how the blade has been made. On one extreme, you have a "wedge" and on the other extreme you have a "hollow ground." A hollow ground blade is very thin from the face of the blade all the way to the edge so it has a lot of flex. A shavette reinforces the blade, so it is not flexible at all.

    I'm tempted, but can't figure out what beats a normal DE Razor. My R41 is very easy to clean as well and I can easily maneuver it in any direction. I guess this is something new, but not necessarily better than the old thing.

    Quick question. I been DE shaving for a while with the same products for a while (Merkur 34c and Astra Platinum blades) but, I feel I can get a closer shave. I don’t want to get crazy and end up owning 20 different blades, razors, soaps, brushes blah blah. I’m a bit of a minimalist. To try getting a closer shave should I get an other razor or try an other blade with my razor? Please let me know.

    Nice looking razor! Looks like a Guitar 🎸! Can you recommend a shaving soap that makes my skin slick to make the razor glide smooth. I have The Green Proraso mint cream tube. I’m using a brush and build a very nice lather, but I feel that it drys out Quick in my face and I find my self having to add water to the brush consistently. Don’t know if this is normal. I’m kind of new to wet shaving. Thank you.

      @@geofatboy Many thanks for your quick and immediate reply . The reason I requested for tech review , actually many people say it is a mild razor . But personally I found it is deffinetly aggressive than 34 hd or Parker 68 / 64 . But interms of blade exposer it is far less , even I found smooth shave in tech compared to r41 . Though r 41 is having huge blade exposer compared to tech . Thus I thought you are the perfect person to ask .

    Opinion on how it would be for shaving your head?

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because of the safety bars it would likely be great for head shaving. One day I've gotta shave my head to expand into that area of videos.

  • @Corellispinto
    @Corellispinto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How does the aggressiveness compare to the Parker SRX shavette?

    • @edwardiitii
      @edwardiitii 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Corellispinto it has a safety bar, so I think it must more mild that SRX or Other traditional shavette.

    • @geofatboy
      @geofatboy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bars offer protection, but it still shaves very efficiently, and you can use both sides of the blade. Definitely equal to the SRX.

  • @pisko9new

    From the images at shavenation.com it seems the razorine has a guard band, like a safety razor. So I guess the shave is more similar to the one of a safety razor than a shavette, correct?

    This razorine thing is for us, the beard community. It's for shaving off the unwanted cheek hairs which just crawl up to your eye area, shaping the mustache and making cheek & neck lines. No offence bro, but I don't see any thing in this for the clean-shaven gentlemen.

Under nose ..legs..even pets need a trim...great for barbers to trim after they cut your hair...I think you can sell the product but let the people decide how to use it...don't limit them to a face shave only
