before I purchased a straight razor. I was watching one of your videos. that was in January. Now I have ten straight razor 's. And enjoying every shave. Thanks love the videos.
You taught me how to use straight razors, thank you for that! Even from the first shave it looks more smooth than I've ever had before although I had to fix some bits with a safety razor. Keeping traditions alive :)
+geofatboy I've been shaving with a safety razor for two years now, all I have to say is best investment I've made with all the old school shaving supplies.
I like seeing your videos on shaving with a straight razor. I'm planning on getting one soon, as I've been using cartridges for the longest time. My father never taught me how to shave in any manner, always going to a barber to get it done until I bought cartridges for myself. But even then, it doesn't get as close as I want it. Straight razors seem to be the way to go, and you've taught me a lot how to shave myself with one that I'll be a bit more prepared when I get mine
Geo, just wanted to say thanks again man. I saw one of your videos when you first started and got hooked since. I was never taught to shave exactly once my beard started growing in as a teenager back in 2003. Your videos helped so much once I found them a few years later man. I have a hard time using a straight razor. The one I have is a hollow ground and was a gift but I kept it for about 3 years until using it. It's tough, I do have 2 moles on my chin area which is where my heavy growth is and that's tough. I want to try this Japanese style so I don't have keep sharpening the blade. Just can't afford it. Cartridge and electric just wreck my skin. The straight razor I have I can't seem to figure it out on my neck area. Always end up with harsh bumps and nicks. I wish ic could get one of these and give it a try but hey. Kids school tuition comes first!
Good to see you shaving Geo. That gel looks interesting. The blade insertion demo is very helpful to see. Feather makes a great razor, folding or not. Some people find Kai blades work better, with Feather being harsh for them. Great video my friend. Shared in the FB group.
Geo, it looks like you are getting in better shape physically every video. Good for you man if you are actively trying to be healthier and still good for you if it is passively happening ahaha. Always informational videos so keep them coming!
You can also use the Kai blades, the Captain Titan Mild Pink are amazing in my opinion. They're the only ones I can use for a BBS, and no neck irritation.
Hi geo, just wanted to know, when do you replace the blade in the straight razor? Do you replace the blade after one use or after few uses? I would be grateful, if you reply back to this comment. Thank you. I like your videos, especially this one because you showed me how to use the Japanese straight razor, which I just bought and this is the first time I’m going to be using the Japanese straight razor.
I love this razor and use the Supers, but even they seem to dull pretty fast. I can only get about three close shaves out of them. Am I using too steep an angle perhaps?
If you had to choose, would you choose the folding type or the japanese style? Most reviews you have done have been with the Japanese style razor. Could you try a review of the Artist Club DX razor, and compare it to the SS?
Hi Geo whats the difference in the black blades you are using in this video and the white Super professional blades you showed us at the start of the video? Thanks
hello geo can you please do a video for people with poor eye sight and if they can use any products to get an easier shave i saw a thing that u bite on and it gives you a goatee guard so u don't shave it by mistake
Great video! Thank you. I’m new to straight razors, looking for a good shavette and looking into feather SS. Which one do you recommend For beginners to pro’s? Folding or straight SS?
Wow this razor looks so smooth and easy. I'm a first time razor user and glad I went with this. I bought the pro guard blades to start off so I can get the hang of it. But it looks very easy. I'll be mostly doing the back of the neck and inside hair designs to start out with.
So I recently bought a right handed kamisori blade. Very expensive and beautiful however I can't for the life of me get a good shave. I took a shave class and watched your videos and still challenging. Just had the blade honed yesterday as well and did lots of stropping. Any advice? I literally have to scrap very hard to even get two days growth off... frustrating to say the least
Kamisori blades are more difficult to sharpen than regular straight razor blades. Hopefully you got someone good. And ask them about using only one side of it to shave with. Tell me more about this shave class...
Hey Geofatboy Im looking to get my first authentic Kamisori straight razor i can't tell if its left handed or right handed or both What do you think? And any special tips on how to use it efficiently?
Geofatboy I've seen a video on youtube done I THINK at the Art of Shaving and the barber doing the shaving said that if you pull the skin in advance before putting the razor on creates an arched shape when doing the Sideburns, is this true or false and ok it was a shavette as opposed to a ordinary straight or any other razor?
Jeez Geo, you did whats called the "Fools" pass, You Taught me well; Cant wait to be able to get that Feather.. I will have to get a video camera and dedicate a video to you; you haven't shaved with a straight till you can shave your head, & you better watch it when using a slightly dull blade, it will Bite you Pretty hard, but i'm having fun with it,; My Stainless Marianna is still my favorite..
Sounds good Karl, can't wait to see the dedication video, but, I don't think I'll be shaving my head anytime in the near future. As long as the hair-up-there keeps growing, I'll let it grow. Take care.
Hey Geo, great video as always! Do you think it's possible to try too hard as a beginning straight shaver? I know you have experience and muscle memory, but you don't seem to need to take as much time as I do! And I still don't get a great shave!
Thanks Michael, Trying too hard? I doubt it. How many shaves do you have under your belt? You may need to be patient and give yourself a chance to learn it.
Hello geofatboy im from brasil.. i make i made a gel (mix from GEL for Hair+PORTUGUESE OLIVE OIL) the smell is so nice i shave my head with straight razor sometimes i cut my head but so soft i have one straight razor SOLINGEN is germany razor you are from Wisconsin??
Hi John, I hope you are having a great day. I just wanted to thank you for bringing that irritating audio hum to my attention. I spent 3-4 hours on Memorial Day troubleshooting where it was coming from. I think I got the situation rectified-so let me know what you think about the sound quality in this one: th-cam.com/video/J_avxFj278g/w-d-xo.html Have a great weekend!

I travel for a living, and I pass the time in my hotel room by learning random things on YT. I guess I have been watching your shaving videos for the pass 2 weeks or so, received the SN 365 Parker 22r kit last week. Oh, so I am in S. Korea, and the Parker is at home in Idaho, I cannot wait to get home and shave already. Anyway, now I am interested in straight razors, and think I would do better with the Japanese-Razor. What is your opinion of a beginner to straight razor shaving, starting out on a Japanese razor vs. straight razor?
You are so smart and not correct! Yours straight razors are always sharpned but neither boker or thiers issard make shave ready razors! They all came extremely dull! Compliments to the person who hone yours straight razor! One day I will buy yours straight razors !!!!!
Excellent shave 👍👍💈💈
Nice to see the Godfather of online wet shaving back. I love your videos.
Thanks Jeremy!

Excellent! That Kamisori Razor has almost perfect ergonomic grasp. It certainly made short work of that beard. Well Done!
When all else fails, sometimes the old ways are the best.
You got that right!
+geofatboy I've been shaving with a safety razor for two years now, all I have to say is best investment I've made with all the old school shaving supplies.
That under the nose upward swoop move is pure pro! Impressive.

I love my kamisori styled feather razor. ladies, it's for us as well! great video as always!
i have been de shaving for 1.5 years now, alway wanted to try one of these, are they really that easy to use as it looks...
Lovin' the new intro, Georgie Boy! Clear those runways and bullfrog that cleft!
C.K. Blackwood amen
Lol! Thanks C.K.!
My question is how often should you change the blade???
Geo, it looks like you are getting in better shape physically every video. Good for you man if you are actively trying to be healthier and still good for you if it is passively happening ahaha. Always informational videos so keep them coming!
Thanks Jared! Greatly appreciated. Should try to do the best we can with what God gave us!
Nice to see you geo! Welcome back.
Thank you!
Is there any razor in the world that you can hurt yourself with it? Clean shave without cuts in every video. It's a masterpiece.
I think I encountered one video where he had just one minor spot. Forgot which video, but it was a very aggressive safety razor...
Man, you make it look so easy. I tried my Feather SS for the first time today with a Kai protouch MG and my face looks like it was hit with Buckshot!
Interesting, I haven't tried any of the Kai blades in the AC razors yet.
Damn fine technique sir ! A pleasure to watch
One question about the razor, how many times can you use one blade for a good shave? One, two, three? Thanks, great videos. Thanks from Mexico.
You can also use the Kai blades, the Captain Titan Mild Pink are amazing in my opinion. They're the only ones I can use for a BBS, and no neck irritation.
Thanks for the tip Joe-Nice to "meet' you!
I also use Kai blades in my feather SS. Always an excellent shave with them, I even took down a 3 month growth with one!
American Crew precision shave gel is excellent stuff. I use it with a double edge razor and Astra blades. Great shave.
Nice shave, I’m getting one of those!

Hi Imran, you should be able to get between 4 and 6 shaves per blade. YMMV.
@@geofatboy Thank you for replying back to my comment 👍🏽
Wow What an Awesome Razor I'll Definitely Buy One After Watching This
Love the Razor - Wife gave me one 2 years ago. - Nice video thanks for posting.
Awesome video
Nice shaving eventhough it is created for a professional 👏
How long does the feather blade last you?
4-5 shaves, how about you?
@@geofatboy I haven't purchased one yet. The blades are pretty pricy, but if I can get 4 shaves out of one blade, I think it's worth it. Thanks!
Excellent
Geo you are the best, no doubt
Thanks Devon-Greatly appreciated!
Best feelin ever, if u not shaved for a while, its like smooth silk, awesome 👍👍👍
great shave!
Thanks! Save Faris!
I love this razor and use the Supers, but even they seem to dull pretty fast. I can only get about three close shaves out of them. Am I using too steep an angle perhaps?
Geofatboy when you was in the army did you have time to shave
If you had to choose, would you choose the folding type or the japanese style? Most reviews you have done have been with the Japanese style razor.
Could you try a review of the Artist Club DX razor, and compare it to the SS?
Is your razor really 30 degrees???Man, on camera it looks almost 90!!! Thanks for all the good videos you do.
Hi Geo whats the difference in the black blades you are using in this video and the white Super professional blades you showed us at the start of the video? Thanks
You are awesome dude
another great one, geo!
Thank you Kris!
I have this same razor and I love it I do cut myself ever all times but it doesn’t hurt I love how you can get everything under your nose with this
Damn - You make it look so easy ! But, practice, practice and more practice !
hello geo can you please do a video for people with poor eye sight and if they can use any products to get an easier shave i saw a thing that u bite on and it gives you a goatee guard so u don't shave it by mistake
I own a few Feather artist club razors, I like the straight Japanese style better than the traditional folding straight razor. These razors kick ass!
Adam calls it like he sees it, gotta love that!
Yes sir! Love the videos, you are the guy that got me into shaving. Thanks
Awesome video! That was crazy. How do you not get razor bumps?
Thank Sam! To answer your question: By using a Feather Japanese Razor... Drag a 5-bladed razor across your face-get razor bumps.
Geo! excellent shave and tips Bro!
Chitown 24 June!!!
Thanks James!

Is there a cheaper option for a non foldable shavette? This one is so expensive
I thought you were (MIA).
missing in action. welcome back.
Still here Eric! I'm not going away any time soon. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It looks more comfortable to use than a traditional straight.
That's likely a matter of personal preference, but could certainly be true!

couldn't believe how quick the razor removed your goatee and mustache! Chapeau
True that-It is certainly efficient. Like I said, you couldn't do that with a cartridge razor.
How much is that razor? I still love my Merkur razor I bought from you.
Click the link at the top of the comments.
My man, You would look awesome with moustache.
Thanks Tito!
Hey Geofatboy
Im looking to get my first authentic Kamisori straight razor i can't tell if its left handed or right handed or both
What do you think?
And any special tips on how to use it efficiently?
Can it be used as a left-hander?
You can use it with either hand... Watch the video and you'll see left hand action...
Thank you Sir! :)

Nice-Christmas in July :)
Hello geofatboy im from brasil.. i make i made a gel (mix from GEL for Hair+PORTUGUESE OLIVE OIL) the smell is so nice
i shave my head with straight razor sometimes i cut my head but so soft
i have one straight razor SOLINGEN is germany razor
you are from Wisconsin??
@That David - Really? You must have nightmares about garbage disposals...
No worries David, just having a little fun with you :)
Wow thought it came with a blade😕now got to buy the blade😑
Agreed, not sure why they don't sell them with at least one blade...
Exactly😭
I need straight razor plz
You make it look easy. Those chin whiskers look extremely coarse!
They do require a little extra attention, but this razor made quick work of them.
The runways weren't cleared
Ahhhh! You caught me! Actually, I used clear gel so, no need to clear the runways!
Ikr.. tragedy waiting to happen.
Nice video bro keep it up :-)
you should keep the mustache bro looka good on you
Really-Hmmm-Thanks! As I was shaving it off I was thinking about anchovies :)
Geo, Do yo prefer the Shaving Gel? Is it better then Lather. Great video
Thanks Garry, The American Crew gel performed better than expected, but there's nothing like brushing on the Lather!
Garry S I like to use Jack Black Beard Lube if I'm in a hurry or too lazy to lather.
That's nice but I have a very bad taste in mouth about that company from previous experience...
geofatboy For unethical reasons?
Not going to air dirty laundry here, just my personal experience.
Audio is a bit poor in this video. otherwise I love your work geo!
What's the mirror cab?
Really? What are you viewing/listening on?
